Problem here is great bravery great skill and lessor numbers of troops tanks and heavy armaments are VERY unlikely to overcome equal bravery equal skill and considerably larger numbers of more tanks and heavy armaments But Germany's true kiss of death was when Americans showed up with huge numbers of well trained pilots flying excellent fighters like the P-47, P-38 and P-51 Once that happened German ground forces in the occupied territories other than Russia were finished You need not attack the troops tanks and heavy armaments if you have used your massive air power to first gain air supremacy then destroyed thier supply lines to the front line troops I would imagine a great many German army officers and Generals that survived both the war and imprisonment or avoided imprisonment all together HAD to spend countless hours pondering how things would've turned out if Germany had not invaded Russia or had Hitler let his Generals (unlike Hitler) who knew WTF they were doing run operation Barbarossa from day one. If if what ifs.
Are I not correct that the entire purpose and advantage of the high velocity cannons on the Panther and Tigers were to be able to remain far enough away from ememy tanks to kill them before they could get killed Really besides slightly thicker armor this was the ONLY important advantage German tanks had over American tanks As American tanks only took mere hours to repair after a brake down including major engine or drive train work vs DAYS for the same brake downs in Panters or Tigers and Panther was never nearly as reliable as the Shermin and the kiss of death to the Tiger 1 was using it for rolls it was never intended for there by greatly increasing its incidents of mechanical failure due to it remaing on the line fighting long after it should have been outbof action getting its minimum mandatory maintenance The Tiger 1 was a very good tank if used for what the Germans intended and was designed for as a short use heavy tank to smash through heavily defended enemy lines to allow much larger numbers of lighter armed and armored tanks and masese of troops to get in behind enemy forces and reek havoc Once they started using the Tiger outside of its specialized roll and as a normal do everything tank is when it's mechanical weaknesses from lack of maintenance did it in. 1500+ Tiger 1's and 6500+ Panthers both of limited reliability very limited in the case of the Panther are never going to overcome 45k+ very reliable and effective Sherman tanks Now add in another at least 100k+ tanks from the Russians and the UK and even if you add in all of Germanies WWII tracked tank killers the Tigers and Panthers were never going to make a difference

Holy cow my eyebrows got burnt on this one dang what a fight 👏🏻👏🏻😺
Another great battle scene Rick. A little more aerials and we’re there.
Good job! Very epic battle as always!
Perfect ambush
Would be cool to see the aftermath of the battle.
👍👍👍💣
I'm curious, have you ever thought about doing a more laid back video where you just film a (more so I guess) tank column ambush from start to finish?
Top 88 👍👍👍👍
👍🙋♂️

You need not attack the troops tanks and heavy armaments if you have used your massive air power to first gain air supremacy then destroyed thier supply lines to the front line troops

who won the battle?
A draw.!

Really besides slightly thicker armor this was the ONLY important advantage German tanks had over American tanks
As American tanks only took mere hours to repair after a brake down including major engine or drive train work vs DAYS for the same brake downs in Panters or Tigers and Panther was never nearly as reliable as the Shermin and the kiss of death to the Tiger 1 was using it for rolls it was never intended for there by greatly increasing its incidents of mechanical failure due to it remaing on the line fighting long after it should have been outbof action getting its minimum mandatory maintenance
The Tiger 1 was a very good tank if used for what the Germans intended and was designed for as a short use heavy tank to smash through heavily defended enemy lines to allow much larger numbers of lighter armed and armored tanks and masese of troops to get in behind enemy forces and reek havoc
Once they started using the Tiger outside of its specialized roll and as a normal do everything tank is when it's mechanical weaknesses from lack of maintenance did it in.
1500+ Tiger 1's and 6500+ Panthers both of limited reliability very limited in the case of the Panther are never going to overcome 45k+ very reliable and effective Sherman tanks
