- BIKE HELMETS: The number one accessory that is absolutely mandatory for riding. They truly save your head and sometimes life when unexpected events happen. However, in order for them to do that they need to fit you correctly! A poorly fitted or loose helmet strap is not going to do it's job when you need it to so let's get helmets that fit and fit them to our faces!
Unfortunately helmets are one of those higher priced items that is a one-time-crash thing. Once a bicycle helmet has been crashed, dented, cracked or scraped it's time for a new one. Bike helmets are designed to take a hard hit once, the next time you hit that spot it'll be your own brain taking the hit.

Wrong, unsafe, the chin strap should be touching the chin, but not tight. She pulls down the front of the helmet at the end. You should be able to see the helmet as you look up. Only buy the advanced systems like MIPS.
Every helmet is different so you cant just say you need to see it. I have a mtb helmet with a medium visor and a full face helmet with a huge visor and they both look different when I’m wearing them. A roadie helmet like this would be a lot harder to see in your peripheral vision than some others.
Also for the strap tightness, when your mouth is all the way open the strap should be tight against your jaw.
And yes please buy a helmet with MIPS or something similar. The $30 extra is worth not needing emergency surgery for a brain bleed

The fact the chin strap comes to a point and doesn’t sit flush on my chin or just below drives me nuts.
It should be tight when you open your mouth all the way. You still need to be able to talk
