- I'm not bad I'm just drawn that way... YAS! We are recreating the ICONIC Jessica Rabbit! A peek-a-boo bang with a ravishing red twist. I have always adored this henna headed gal, and was so excited to see her suggested. Let's make her come to life!

Yessss mama
If Jaymes ever does anybody's real hair, she's going to stick pins right into their head.
This math checks out 😂
Hellraiser realness!
I feel like this is an obvious one, but if you're recreating classic animated lady hair, what about Betty Boop/Helen Kane kinda style with the short black curls?
Jessica's of Hollywood was at Pleasure Island in Orlando. There was a giant Jessica Rabbit that was on top of the building that was animated and would kick her leg. I miss old school Pleasure Island so much
not jaymes mansfield providing the absolute most for free yet again
Oh, I commented that I would love to see a recreation of Jessica Rabbit’s hair on the Rose Quartz video. Excited to watch this. 😁
OKAY I decided I'm so obsessed I'll comment every time: DO A HATSUNE MIKU INSPIRED WIG! 🤩
Omg yess
OMG!! More exposure for Miku PLEEEASE
Jaymes shockingly really shines in really anime style hairdos so I WOULD LOVE
Wtf is that?
YES YES YES YES
I would love to see the Veronica Lake pin curl technique.
I've been trying for years to recreate that look with my own hair. I just want to have my sultry film noir moment.
@BC 4U hey sass.
This is really detailed. I feel like I learn a lot about the subject of the video as well as styling from your videos.
same, i always fall down a rabbit hole of looking up classic actresses and singers, etc.
@@bbear2695 Each episode is such a fun mix of cool and interesting references. I love how freely and easily she shares all she knows with the audience.
Agreed!
YAY!!!! Kathleen Turner is such an underrated ICON!
I rate her so high! Serial Mom? Body Heat! 😵
Me too! I love her in "The War of the Roses", " Romancing the Stone", & "Jewel of the Nile", & I'm obsessed with her sultry, low registered voice! She's amazing!
There u are, again, saving my night. I Love u Jaymes.
Thank you doll
I have ALWAYS maintained that Jessica Rabbit is, in fact, a drag queen! Look at the material mama: Firstly, she's ENORMOUS - the scale of her next to the live actors is huge. She has an extremely deep voice, a massively exaggerated, unrealistic body, wears tons of makeup and sequined gowns and performs in nightclubs. She's a caricature of idealized womanhood - basically the definition of traditional drag. What cemented this for me was seeing Kate Walsh (Addison from Grey's Anatomy) playing a trans woman/drag queen on an episode of CSI. BITCH SHE WAS REAL LIFE JESSICA RABBIT! The red hair, purple eye shadow, and husky voice, it was uncanny. An earnest portrayal of a trans woman produced the best ever Jessica Rabbit impression on screen. Coincidence? Nah.
On the subject of Jessica's voice being inspired by Lauren Bacall and her being voiced by Kathleen Turner: when Kathleen was just starting to get big in Hollywood she actually was introduced to Ms Bacall at a party and she DEAD ASS said to her *"I'm the younger you!"*
THE NERVE, GALL, AUDACITY, AND GUMPTION, not to mention the DISRESPECT!! 💀
I live! What do expect from a woman that names her memoirs Send Yourself Flowers 💐 😂
Being a child of the 80’s, I wanted to be one of three women: Crystal Barbie, Victoria Principal, or Jessica Rabbit. Thanks for this, Jaymes. I really enjoyed it. Much love from Canada! ❤️😘🇨🇦
Omg I love Jessica Rabbit I have a signed framed sketch of her from Disney obsessed!!
Love the dolls! And you are such a doll.
good to know that being a woman and being "difficult" hasn't changed much.
Seriously
True but Veronica was also an alcoholic who died of cirrhosis at the age of 50. She also had three failed marriages. She was a turbulent character.
Amazing! Love This! Betty Boop should totally be next. The Jessica Rabbit doll was made by Mattel in 1999. It pops up on auction now and then and isn't crazy expensive. However, the Tonner doll prices are! I went to the Jessica's Store in 1991, wall-to-wall Jessica. I loved it! I have photos and found video. It was in Pleasure Island (now Disney Springs) part of Disney World. I have photos of all the merch from there. It was only open about a year and a half sadly, but I'm so happy that people still love Jessica!
Omg Serial Mom is the best movie!!! Now I have to go watch it!
I knew veronica lake personally lol it was the forties early and well the gin got us... I survived only because mine was watered down... lol love this!
The Roger Rabbit Gift Shop was in Florida at the then Disney MGM Studios (Now Hollywood Studios) it is now the Muppet Vision Gift Shop, though the Roger shaped hole in the wall is still there but its now behind a shelving display. There were other movie props there too but I think with the creation of Galaxies Edge they might've been moved into storage.
Please do a finger wave demo!
I always learn so much queer history through Jaymes videos and I’m so thankful for them!
Jaymes is so cultured. She impresses the shit out of me in every video.
You should totally do a wig recreation of Xtinas iconic stripped hairstyle.
Yes please!
I've always wanted red hair like that, I must get that wig!
Holy SHIT JAYMES. I stg this is the best wig you've ever worn, YOU look amazing
We were all traumatized by Doc putting that shoe in the barrel weren’t we?
I think it'd be fun to see Jaymes recreate Aurora's hair from the animated Sleeping Beauty with that weird ass curly bang.
I would love to see you recreate a Marie Antoinette hair style. I love all your work x
I love the new result! Jessica Rabbit seems to translate really well. If you want a real challenge for a wig, Try peridot from Steven Universe :)
I have to say Jessica Rabbit is one of my all time favorites! The whole video all I could think of was" I'm not bad I'm just drawn that way" then you dropped the line .
Live this and thank you for sharing ❤️💕❤️
Jaymes I would LOVE LOVE LOVE Traci Lords hair in Crybaby😁
That's the best I've seen in a long time u make a gorgeous red head
AWESOME!!! I know this is relatively a popular reference but one thing i love about drag is the fashion references. I learn so much!
And i just learned about the bang! Jaymes is out here giving me all the facts!
I adore this Jessica/Roger Rabbit pop culture history lesson! Thank you for teaching us!
That’s the most perfect Jessica Rabbit hair I’ve ever seen!!
You're such a good artist
Oh my God I am so excited you are doing this wig recreation!! Jessica Rabbit was an icon to small me. I know I've seen people talking about her real life counterparts and that's great, but I more know about animation. I'd say her roots are more based on Tex Avery's shorts such as Swing Shift Cinderella and Red Hot Riding Hood. Both have a bombshell with red hair and strapless, backless dresses.
Also for your question, I don't believe it is a Disney exclusive and Jessica Rabbit's store was in DisneyWorld.
When you described the original story, it reminded me of the Topper movies. They were murder mysteries but made into comedies.
I love the topper movies. Some of my favorites from old Hollywood
You know what would be fun, trying to do Ariel from the little mermaid, it probably wouldn’t be really hard but it would be interesting.
Jaymes Mansfield, I adore you, love your wig styling, I am retired hairstylist, and retired drag queen, I use to wear many of my wigs like you style your wigs, look forward to your videos 😍 👠 🍸 🏆 ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
I just realized I wasn't subscribed and I'm like...what am I doing with my life if I'm not subbed to Jaymes. Fixed that QUICKLY!
i’d love to see you attempt sindel’s hair from mortal kombat! it’s already perfect for drag
I love that it’s always a wig and a story! I love knowing the influences for all these styles!
I love that Jaymes is just having fun in these videos, and is joking with us like we are friends talking crap to each other. You can tell that she is having a great time while filming, and it shines thru to the end result.
I live for Jaymes saying “Oh my God you guys”. I love the old movie and T.V knowledge and quotes.
Stunning. James’ facial structure fits that of Jessica Rabbit very nicely.
Plus the amazing wig and make up. 10/10
Love how jaymes is always says “we can make that work….” a good motto for life really.
Okay, but this wig on Ginger Minj: Jessica Ribbit
🤣😂🤣😂 the Glamour Toad evolution!!
Yes! Yes! Yes!!! I’m doing Jessica Rabbit for Halloween so i NEEDED this ♥️♥️
Sis DID RIGHT ❤👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽 love you Jaymes!
Can you take us back to the 80’s and recreate Donna Mills hairstyle from Knots Landing? ❤️
Veronica Lake in "I Married a Witch" is such a fun ride!
That movie is adorable
The green wig you’re wearing gives me the lady gremlin when they take over New York
I just love her so much her lil giggle feeds my soul. But shes also very educational! Teach the children hunty
Omg this is sooo beautiful😭💓
Bride of Frankenstein when it’s closer to Halloween would be awesome
I don't know which wig I like better, the red or the green. They both (and you) look stunningly beautiful.
I love that with each of these wig videos not only do we learn how to do a specific style or technique Jaymes always gives us a history lesson of Hollywood starlets and icons. I love it 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Yes!!! So good!
The hair turned out amazing!
that could be fun, a series of wig transformations based on famous old hollywood hairstyles
Your wigs are consistently breath taking but I stg I sometimes watch just to listen to you talk 😌 I love old Hollywood/ movies and listening to you reference things and go into details sounds like I'm sitting in the living room with a friend lol it's very calming
This is perfect ! You are so talented 🙌🏼✨
Jaymes’ giggle is my favorite drag queen noise ever. Second is Trixie Mattel’s laugh.
Oh my god it came out gorgeous!!
There are so many references and point of view in this video I'm so happy. Loved it.
Thanks for the background/history lesson on Jessica Rabbit and her character inspirations! I always learn something new whenever I watch your videos🐇💄✨
I wasn't allowed to actually watch Who Framed Rodger Rabbit when I was a kid. But I was obsessed with Jessica. I loved that big violet drag eye that was painted up her forehead.
I can't believe you can retain so much Information about all these icons from old Hollywood. YOURE an Icon. 💙❤️♥️💜 Love hearing your Hollywood History & seeing you slay these wigs
I'm pretty sure that Jessica Rabbit's body was actually inspired by Vikki Dougan. Vikki was a model in the 1950s who was famous for wearing backless dresses and her bum cleavage, she was even referred to as "The Back" (hence Jessica Rabbit's iconic backless dress).
I don’t think her body was used as an inspiration. The dress, most likely because Vikki was known for it. But Jessica had a more snatched body, similar to Jayne. Jayne had bigger breasts and a tiny waist. Although Vikki is just as beautiful, I think it makes more sense that Jayne was the body inspiration and Vikki was the dress.
@@brennenr.4704 Except it actually was Vikki Dougan, lol.
@@evangeline77x OH HAHA, my b. I looked it up and yeah it was Vikki! My bad haha 🤣🤣🤣
A work of art, Jaymes!!❤️❤️
go off bestie the set is looking so good!
also, you know we'd love to see the pin curls
Fantastic transformation, as usual. I didn't expect this bright red style to look so natural on you. Wow.
Your green wig is SO awesome!
The final result is amazing omg 😍😍
Love your green wig...brilliant colour. Your Jessica Rabbit was fantastic 🌸💗💐
I bought a red Amazon wig for this purpose! Thank you for the tutorial. I can’t wait to get started.
Jaymes needs to do some of the disney princess's hair like snow white and cinderella and aurora xxxx

You look so great in this color hair!
Oh wow I'm actually early. Excited to see this.
I adore this style in you!!
LOVE your work ! damn this one's my all time fav
I would love to see the Rita Hayworth wig recreation!! :D
Loved this video Jaymes. As usual you did an amazing job. I'm curious if you plan on doing any drag shows in Arizona now that you are closer to it.
Omg I wish I had this tutorial last Halloween. I made my dress and everything, but my wig could have been soooo much better. I will have to make this wig and re-dress-up. Thank you Jaymes!!
You should try making a Betty boop wig, it would be fun
Omg jaymes you look gorgeous in red hair 😍
Mama looking STUN! In that green hair! Love you queen!!!!! X
This was so interesting! Thanks for making these great videos :D
I am loving the history lesson! ❤️👏🏽
Yes GAWD. Also I love that you film these in front of your bathtub. Celebrities: they're just like us
This is one of my favorite recreations.
Super impressive work, Jaymes. Looks like it came straight off her head :D
I love that wig she's wearing ❤️
First impressions of the green wig my daughter and I agree it reminds us of the lady gremlin from gremlins 2!!
