I just bought a 87 Black on black T top 5.7 with 25k miles. Mid life crisis is on full blast! Going to pick it up sometime this week. It’s going to be blasting Def Leppard and burnouts all weekend!

Here's a simple tip. I've owned (own) Camaros of all years. For this one, under the hood detail tip, remove the Coolant reservoir and stick a pressure washer nozzle in it to clean out all the old brown residue. It's one additional little thing that will clean up the appearance of any engine bay. It will look white and clean.

One of the first things I look at when doing a potential car buy, tells you a lot about the care and maintenance. Then the condition of the interior tells you the rest. Beautiful 3rd gen.

Great first car for your channel! I am a product of the 19080's and, coincidentally, I graduated high school in 1987. In 1990 I bought my very first car. And guess what? She is your car's big sister! And not just any big sister, but the first gen 3! A 1982 Camaro Z28. Mine is a 4-barrel carbureted, 4-speed manual transmission vehicle with T-Tops. I still own this car after 33 years. She needs some TLC and has not been road worthy in quite some time due to a busted posi-traction rear end. The interior is still near new other that the scratched up panels in the rear as you mentioned as common for these cars. I loved taking her into the canyons here in Utah with the T-Tops off and looking up at the cliffs and fall foliage. I miss driving the car and hope to one day get her fixed up. Maybe I'll do a walk around video of the car for you and post the link here. Thanks for a great video and I look forward to more great car adventures with you. Cheers!

I had a friend that had one the same color combo. I also worked as a tech for the Chevy dealer in that era. Rebuilt lots of trannys and differentials on those cars. Did you know that 700r4 will shift through the gears as a result of pump pressure? Pull it into low and hammer down the throttle. It’ll shift through the gears without moving the shifter. Also if you want a bit firmer shift during lighter throttle tighten the TV cable a couple clicks.
We also had to change out all the gas tanks on those cars. There was a recall affecting the Camaros. It was a suck job because the filler neck is fixed to the tank and it winds it’s way up through the quarter panel. Gotta remove the exhaust drop the rear axle etc to do that job. Can’t believe it’s been that long!

@@paulchristie4904 yeah, it's not that far. I've been to Cape Cod once, in the 80s there was no way I could afford both car insurance and a 3rd gen Z28 or a T/A. There was also no way I was gonna let that stop me from driving a pre-owned F-body, the problem was keeping it safe because I didn't have a garage back then. I used to use a brake to steering wheel lock, a Club, a Clifford or Ungo box alarm and constantly look out the window like a drug addict to the point of nauseaium.😟
