The best cavalry Europe ever produced. My ancestors rode with King Sobieski at Vienna in 1683! In 1694 at the Battle of Hodów, 400 winged hussars stood up against the 40, 000 Crimean Tatars and defeated them. The Poles nicknamed the battle the ‘Polish Thermopylae’.
At Hodów there were 100 hussars and the main force were 300 pancerni cavalry. Let's not forget about them because they were like a workhorse of the polish-lithuania army but they are always in the shadow of fame of our winged hussars.

We fought against the US.that had cannons and repeating rifles with lances and bow and arrows and we were greatly out numbered. @Artur Robert You sholud learn a history. Read some books for example of Polish soldiers who - thanks to Hungarian help - were able to escape from Poland and form an army in France and later on in Great Britain.
My ancestors were Winged Hussars. 2 fought at Vienna in 1683. I have a full set of Winged Hussar armor and weapons displayed in my den. The best heavy cavalry of any age! The Sultan feared Jan Sobieski's Hussars!🇵🇱 Video brought tears to my eyes!

Then when the war was over France America and Britain betrayed Poland let Communist Russia occupy their country from 1945 till 1989. He made myself and my four brothers promised him if any country invades Poland we will fight to protect the Polish people and the Christian way of life.

And that book they describe American soldier who stayed in Poland after the first war to help the Polish establish a Air Force. Because he never forgot what the Polish did to help the Americans in the Revolutionary War

@@bluepeter3470 i mean Poland is lost. It's people mentality and country economy is ruined by years of occupation, wars, a lot od intelligence died, now terrible politicians are ruining this country. Young people are going abroad because in this country there's week future and I doubt it will change during my youth and later. I respect sacrifice of all those generations that fought, but it's almost for nothing. They're probably rolling in their graves knowing what's become of Poland and its people. Democracy there is an ilusion.

A Polish hussar horse trained for combat cost the same as the whole village, and the sale of hussar horses was forbidden under penalty of death, because training such a horse cost a fortune. In addition, Poland in its tragic history, due to its geographical location, has more than once saved the buttocks of Western Europe, because if Poland had not stood in the way of many storms from the east, many invaders from the east would have stopped only at the Western Hybrids, and the British would have built shit, not empire, not to mention other nations. At a time when Poland was defending the eastern borders of Europe, they were building empires in peace.
