Dude... this was one of the best and funnest fights I have ever seen. Justin Gaethje is the definition of a guy who gives his body and his health to the sport! And I really believe this is the point where Dustin Poirier took it to the next level. During that fight I thought his time was coming to an end but man, what a badass! He pulled it off.

In my opinion, Dustin definitely deserves the tittle shot, but... Ufc won't give him it due to him not being a big money fight for the ufc. That's what ufc Is now adays

Poirier has been a favorite fighter of mine for a long time.!! It’s an amazing journey to watch his progression.. Truly proud of him.. he deserves/earned the next title shot..
I hope the UFC brass can see that, give him that shot.!! The Diamond.!!

Whats your point? The product is made for the fans its entertainment not the olympics, you really saying you would rather see Khabib vs Dustin instead of Khabib vs Conor? I don't think so, besides I think most people would still agree Conor deserves the shot over Dustin as it was his belt that he never lost therefore it is a disputed belt regardless of his layoff, that needs to be settled as he is coming back soon.

Ryan Wilson Not sure. Khabib was a flop at 300k PPV and Tony at 200k PPV. So they should just let him fight. I bet it would do 450k. And it would be the toughest fight Khabib has ever had

    • @zephirol4638
      @zephirol4638 Před 6 lety +1

outlawCho: lolwut? So much ignorance in this comment section.
First of all the #1 contenders (Tony) only obligation is to fight the champion, just as the champions only obligation is to fight the #1 contender.
Secondly. even if that is the case, no chance Dustin with 3 wins of mid tier fighters and 1 NC deserves a fight with a guy who is currently going 10-0.
-Lastly to you specifically outlaw, you're probably the biggest idiot here. 26-0 vs 23-3.
-Khabibs least dominant match (minus Tibau who admitted to PED use during said fight) is more dominant than 90% of the rosters most dominant performance, including Tony.
-An Khabib was the #1 contender back when connie beat Alvarez for the belt. His only obligation was to fight Connie but he pussed out. Delay due to the champion being scared yet able to fight does not constitute in a proper reason to lower said fighters ranking. An Tony V lee who was like #7 certainly doesn't constitute as a proper interim belt match.

Ferguson is injured, Alvarez is 1-1 (1) in his last 3, Conor doesn't deserve the shot, he should fight Diaz. Poirier should get the shot, he's the only worthy contender that'll be ready in September. It doesn't matter if Khabib smashes him or not, Poirier has done enough to earn the shot.

Dustin Poirier - a true warrior, and one of my favourite MMA fighters. Always puts everything on the line whenever he fights. He's not the fighter that he used to be several years ago. He has made some remarkable improvements in his fighting skills and cardio. More importantly, he has matured into a respectful and responsible young man. I agree with Dustin that he should be given the well-deserved shot to fight for the championship belt asap. After he wins the championship, he can avenge his earlier losses.

Alvarez doesnt deserve a title shot. He ducked Khabib when he was a champ and ducked him after he lost belt.

This was just what I was hoping for DP in this fight, obviously not the eye pokes or leg damage, but persevering through JG brutal attack, and finishing strong. That freakin left hand counter to that leg kick was open numerous times, maybe he could've threw it a little sooner, maybe it was perfect timing. Dustin showed improvements with his boxing for this fight. Even tho much of it seemed like sloppy arm punches, this was most likely bc he couldn't put the weight on that front leg.

Man after I voted for Justin I to be honest wanted Dustin to win in a bad ass way and he did, and I still love both fighters. Incredible fight and post press speaches.

I think he have Dustin vs Khabib around September time whilst we wait for Tony to get ready. Winner faces Tony.

American top team has some excellent wrestlers and I hope Dustin can get his grappling to the next level so that he can perform well against Khabib or Tony. I actually like his chances against McGregor a second time.

I hate when people try to take credit away from a great fighter he won fair and square had him in a lot of danger and herb stopped before he was able to really put a new look to Gathjes face I wish he would have let it go another 8 seconds to see whether he could have been able to defend his self I don’t think he would of have but he coulda had some payback for the eyepokes and the 2nd was a double eye poke
