How to Wire-Wrap Beach Glass the Easy Way

  • A very simple twist-based wire-wrapping technique perfect for flat, irregular objects such as beach glass (or seaglass). All you need is some round craft wire (20 or 22 ga), flush cutters and a pencil, but chain-nose and round-nose pliers help make it easier!

    Omg!years ago my daughter then aged 4 and upwards would collect beach glass on Bexhill beach! We had jars of the stuff, I wasn't crafting then and we threw them away when we moved house! She is 35 now so will get my granddaughter to do it. Great idea👏👏👏👏

    Great tutorial ! I live along the Atlantic coast and in the 45 years I've lived here I never heard of Sea Glass until a few days ago. I'm going out looking for Sea Glass tomorrow. Thanks to your wonderful tutorial i'm going to try my hand at making Sea Glass jewelry. Wish me luck!

    I LOVE this tut!!! So simple and fast, but the results are beautiful!! I found the background noise to be a bit distracting, but it might be because I have a migraine.
    I used this method to wrap a chunk of green malachite, and used the extra wire to curl and attached peridot Swarovski beads. It was a gift for my SIL, and she loves it!!

    I haven't started making jewelry yet, but I've noticed that every designer has his or her own style -- their trademark touches. I'm waiting for my stones to arrive. I can't wait to start creating. I have ideas (from watching youtube videos) regarding what I'm going to do with the wire and stones. Yet, until I get my fingers on the materials, I can only imagine where my designs may go. Thank you for sharing!

    Wow! That is beautiful and easy -- making it twice as nice. When you created the "S" designs that tightened the fitting, I thought that was really a nice look.     I have to say, I've never liked wire wrapped anything, even professionally done it often looks like a 4th grade art project;but I like yours! It looks finished and put together without trying. This is really one of the best examples I've ever seen. Brava!! Great job, and to think it's only a tutorial.

    GAYLE!! I had taught myself another way,almost similar,using on long piece of wire folded in half,and twisting it at the points,but I think I like your way even better,especially with the extra wire to turn into embellishment [s] Very PROFESSIONALLY MADE VID! You inspired me to get back to work!!! Now,,I am looking for a way to wire-wrap round objects,,like tumbled stones in a less primitive way than I have been experimenting with...I'll get back here again sometime .I really enjoyed this PEACE!
