I'm actually on my second Visesnut case. The first one protected my guitar really well when a sharp and heavy metal bar fell onto it (I had literally closed it just 5 seconds before). There was a small tear in the top layer but the insurance from the guy who dropped the bar paid enough money for me to replace it just to be sure.
As I was very happy I bought another one. This one is a lemon I think. The bottom latch got so weak within half a year of daily usage it eventually opened itself (and yes you have to twist but a scarf in the wind could easily knock it open). Because it is the only one on the bottom you could see the top part lifting a bit, so no or less air quality control and probably less stiffness. Their reply was hit it with a hammer and a screwdriver in the right spot, not a solution. After that it was supposed to be changed by a newer or redesigned latch but it wasn't, just the same. Now two months later the latch is so weak again it will start opening itself in maybe another month or two. There's no real solution and when seller contacted visesnut about this problem their reply was: don't bump the case, and: this is a problem we hear more often, the four latch version apparently doesn't have this problem.
I can only recommend this case if you are willing to take the chances but my guess is some cases will have weak latches and probably all cases won't last longer than 5 years without new latches.

I am using Hiscox pro II, not as expensive as Visesnut but provides great protection. Visesnut has given the latches more thoughts though. On the other hand, if one locks the case it at least one of them would never open.

I have one of these, it’s a nice case. I agree with the white for not absorbing sunlight. Years ago in Australia we weren’t allowed to take the case on the plan or even gate check. I remember looking out the window and seeing the cases sitting in the sun. That was when I had a big heavy Calton, I was happy my case was white at the time as I didn’t worry about it absorbing a ton of heat.
And I agree about the soft cover, It does help getting it on the plane as it looks more like a soft bag but I’m surprised Visesnut only offers a black case cover and not a grey or silver option. Black cover just absorbs heat..

I have a Humicase which I toured with to Turkey. When I got to Instanbul the top exterior that protects the head was ripped off (United Airlines)! Thankfully the interior lining protected the guitar. Anyway, thank you for sharing this! Will look into it further.

Thanks Simon - I have just received my Kim Lissarague guitar and I had no idea how to open it. A quick Google and hey presto! Thanks so much.

I was curious to hear the opinion of a Visesnut guitar case user, even though I already have a quite new bam case its nice to know it for the future. The latch system is very smart though! It's maybe the feature which I like the most. Thank you for your very informative review! :)

I have had both Bam and Visesnut... Without question the Visesnut is superior. You can stand on the visesnut without any fear that the top of the guitar will be damaged. Better latches, better adjustable support/padding, more durable outer shell, and just overall feels more protective overall. I would feel confident flying with the Visesnut but not with the Bam.

Great review mate. I have a BAM case and it's been awesome. It has a slimline latch system and a removable storage pocket that were strong selling points and excellent straps. In all honesty it seems that there's not too much in it between BAM and Visesnut. There's a comprehensive review of my case on my channel too.

Thanks, I was wondering about that case. Now I'm wondering if there is a case in which one can store the case case :)

Any recommendation on airline travel with a guitar?

Those latches are great, I immediately noticed that they don't appear to have any of the sharp locating tabs that so often protrude proud of the edges guitar cases and lids. Such tabs are just waiting to scratch any instrument carelessly or hurriedly put away. Additionally there are no hard aluminium bands running around the case and lid edges as seen on many fibreglass and CF flight cases, such bands are also hazards to guitar finishes.
But I would still prefer a wooden case over fibreglass or CF. Fibreglass cases in particular often fail, crack and tear where hinges and hardware are riveted/attached to the case.

Hi Richard, yes, they're fantastic and they also don't come unlatched easily like other cases. I've seen no real issues with the rivets or hardware attachments...seem to have good quality control.

@@ClassicalGuitarCorner Hi, I am gonna buy a Visesnut case and your video is great to help me with the decision. I also prefer the white color. They have two white ones. Wonder if yours is "winter white" or "gloss white". thanks!

Great review of the case and things to look for. But OMG how did a humidifier pack explode.
    Altitude? Heat? Trauma?

Well, I think it was just old. I guess the D'Addario packets are meant to be thrown out after a few months. It leaked goop all over my guitar and case...
