I don't know where these westerners get such strange information which no Indian knows. The westerners go looking for dirt, something they can talk about, many times just makes people act so to make it real.

A beautiful nation having traditions linked to human behavior and the way if life. Many traditions like Jalli kattu is a sport where a man is supposed to show his s courage to mend a sold bull. One of tge best countries in the world. Cows and other animals are revered and poojas are performed. Every thing that helps mankind is revered. In which part of the world you can see these traditions. Jayaram

You have taken only old pictures. Now, India has changed and its shows your poor mindset. You must come and see our traditions AND cities. For you this is strange but for us, it is god gifted. Have you forgotten your culture but we are following it. Just go and read your history and Indian history and then you can find a huge difference. India is always far ahead of your culture. This is your education policy to show that other countries are very much poor. Aks the Britishers, they have looted 75 Trillion Euros from India. In the 17/18th centuries, our GDP is 25% of the world's GDP. Now, you are showing old pictures and telling all the nonsense. Come and see our county then you can realize it. For you kind information, India is the world 5th largest economy.

I have just come back from India. Everything that he has shown in this video is true and still being practiced in your fastest growing economy country. The poverty on the streets are startling Sir. You people are hiding much of it in the name of culture. I saw a teenage girls dead boy killed by her father because she was in love with a neighbor boy from another caste. Thank God British were there to give some civility to Indians.

Typical Western way of pronouncing non English words
    1) TIMITI (2.32) is wrong, it's Theemidhi தீமிதி - fire walking ceremony celebrated by Tamil people in India, Sri Lankan, Malaysia, Singapore, Burma, Mauritius, south Africa to name a few.
2)(3.48) it's not Nagapatmi actually it's called Nagapanchami நாகபஞ்சமி festival dedicated to snakes.
3)(3.05) it's not Ayuda puja, actually it's called Aayudha poojai ஆயுத பூஜை it's a nine day festival first three days dedicated to goddess Lakshmi goddess of wealth, second 3 days to goddess Saraswati goddess of education last 3 days for goddess Durga goddess of war (valour) the same festival is also celebrated by the Chinese people of Taoist religion by a different name they call it nine Emperor festival, All the south Indian festivals are celebrated by the Chinese people of Taoist religion it will usually be a day or two earlier or later.

it is no point in arguing with someone who does not know or understand. Someone must have fooled the reporter just to make it sensational. He should have shown people eating dead human flesh There are other parts of the world like Iran that celebrate beating their bodies with chains and swords yet he says only in India. When ignorance is bliss it folly to be wise

Dear problem with western is that their shallow point of life point of view allows them to watch the world with congested thoughts and narrow understanding of human evolution .Civilization evolve freely from one form to another is what Indian civilization .But your congested don't allow you accept this fact any non western can evolve with keeping their traditions and customs alive. We Indians our custom according to human civilization welfare not impose our religious beliefs and customs on any other like western civilizations. So if want to know India at least one time try to understand thoughts and feelings of a true Indian, other is your choice .

When he can't properly pronounce the words, how can one expects him to do justice with the information, very wrongly narrated story out of ignorance or intentionally? Anyone who wants to experience India, needs to visit and experience. It's so different from Western world therefore no Western narrator like the producer of this documentary can understand it sitting remotely. It is safe, it's beautiful, it's diverse, it's different and most importantly it's loving, its the oldest surviving civilization on planet earth, what else you need to know?

Property share and rights are easily and abundantly available for women. Men don't have a share in their inlaw's property. But Indian women have shared in their husbands, inlaws, and their own parent's property. Moreover, an Indian woman can and has a right to claim over 50% of her in-laws' property sidelining her in-laws and husband. India has a very biased system of property inheritance. Where a woman can easily and freely claim. Whereas, an Indian man can't even claim a single penny from his in-laws or his wife's property. It's there according to the Hindu Marriage Act. But still, it's not properly functioning.
It's actually good to see the burden on men is less in Iceland, unlike India. In India, women have more rights, But they aren't held accountable for duties as per the law and the society. At least in Iceland, women take the initiative. In India, when men and women go on blind dates. Men are expected to pay the bill for a stranger lady in the first meeting. If a man asks a woman to split the bill. Majority of the Indian woman tend to get offended. Most majority of the working woman also expect a man to pay the bill first on their first day. It's a tradition for them which is really very ridiculous. Forget about those non-working women.
In India, there is one more thing that is strange. Pre-marital sex is a crime or an offense in the eyes of society. However, courts have declared it legal. But certain Indian so-called feminists don't accept the judgment. It also has led to false rape cases.
Committing adultery isn't a crime in the eyes of law and the society. Society asks you to be with the adulterous wife/husband. Shamefully, the Indian judiciary has also treated it as a non-offense thing.
Love Marriages are considered a sin. Family prestige and honor are more important than their children's happiness. Indian parents will tell their kids that if their child is happy. They are happy too. But that statement is false. They should be happy first. The child's happiness doesn't matter here when it comes to marriage. For family, caste, color, financial status, horoscope, and beauty are much more of a priority, not the kid's happiness. That's how they brainwash their kids.
In India, people pee and spit anywhere. They pollute their own rivers too. India is definitely a religious and diverse country. But religion and diversity haven't really helped in fighting the social biases of modern Indian society. The majority of the public Indians consider themselves religious or at least follow a particular religion. But truly, they do not have much idea about their own religion. If they knew they wouldn't have submitted to certain hypocrisy of society.
India is a developing country and the world's second-largest and fastest-growing economy. But still, India doesn't talk about mental health, male abuse, and sex openly.
