- Video covers how to repair the suspension rods of a washing machine that is shaking and bouncing around. The repair can work for suspension rods in all sort of different brands including: Whirlpool, Maytag, Kenmore, Amana, and Admiral. This fix is a lot cheaper then buying new suspension rods, however I am not certain how long it will last and should only be replicated only at your own risk.

Love your videos, the video on how to replace suspension rods got my washer going again.
Glad you enjoy the channel! Great job fixing your machine as well!
Thank for this video. I was able to replace those suspension rods all by myself. Best part was I didn't break or scratch my nails doing it.
I trick I used was to wrap a ratchet strap around the tub. Then, I hooked one of those black rubber bungee through it. Mine was long, so I wrapped it around the strap so it could lift the tub. Alone hook I attached to the top of the frame and the other end I attached to the bottom. I moved it around on each corner. This helped to keep the tub in position when I leaned the machine over to access the underneath.
Kind of glad my husband wasn't here to help. Especially when I forgot to put the drain hose back in the pipe. I ran a load and made a huge mess. I had it right the first time, but then the hose connections were leaking, so I pulled it out to put new Teflon tape and gaskets in the hose connections. Now the floors are nice and clean.
That's awesome! Great work on fixing your machine by yourself!
9:47 the damaged part of the tub is dug into the metal frame in the back keeping the tub off balance. It happened to mind, thanks for the clear video showing how the rods are supposed to be.
I took mine apart. I bought from amazon some brass shim material. (verry cheap) I lined the entire hole with brass shim. Then I slid my rubber into what is now a smaller tighter hole.
I want to share my remedy too. I’m not in the business anymore but I will probably again.
I like your site because the way you work is like me too.
So I used a hook pick or needle nose to carefull remove the spongey grip inside.
The problem is, the rod is wearing away the inside of the spongy grip .
Then, I cut the spongey grip with a razor. Removed it. With scissors, I removed more bit by bit, until I could wrap it tightly around the rod again.
Then Inwrapped it once and a half with self adhesive tape.
For me it’s worked like a charm. I had one failure though. I never knew why because the customer tried to replace with new ones before contacting me.
I just finished installing her new rods without ever seeing the old ones I repaired.
All other rods to my knowledge are still going.
Thanks for sharing. Maybe I will give this a shot when I have some free time. New ideas are always welcome!
Illdoc, I don't understand what you did. Could you explain it a different way? Did you reuse the spongy part?
Your videos help me a lot. Thanks
i just bought new suspension rods and installed them. Not gonna mess around with a band aide.
Right on!
Ive tried rigged rod remedy's some of THEM worked some didnt Ive put brand new ONES in and it still shook. But you do have to recalibrate these machines after without anything in them its like a reset for the machine after replacing parts
i love it thank you going to fix my washing machine .....
The question is, if the tub ring on top is damage, there is no remedy? And I found mine a little loose, so put 3 screw in the little holes that connect to the tub. Can send picture if you have an an email
I have done a little research on this subject. I ordered some 1/4” … 2 piece screw on clamps. Not sure what they are called.
If/when I get back into appliances, I intend to try them around the top part of the piece that slides up and down a little.
Have heard of very good long term results. good results
Have a two year old hotpoint top load gets out of balance and banging under warranty hopefully this is the remedy
Thanks alot bro
🙋♂️hello...i'm from brazil...and i follow you...thanks a lot for the video...😁👍👏🇧🇷
Hi. That's awesome! Your welcome!
Hello do you know the model # of this machine?
how to open it bro
The safety pin works the beat..but i wrap mine around rod real tight instead of pushing it threw bottom plastic..i proba ly done a 100 of them now..no call backs..
The foam piece is worn out, which makes the spring slide up and down without friction. The foam is inside the plastic body he popped the top off of.
What do you think if I put some type of epoxy glue on it?
Don't think that will work
I have been told dampening grease works.
Am thinking of trying some of it.
Also thinking about 2 other ways, foam replacement and or 1/4” double split clamps.
@@rickeykeeton4770...me too. Try damping grease.
No funciona trabajando solo por un corto tiempo y luego empieza a dar el mismo problema
It looks easy, but it's not. The safety pins keep breaking and I've tried every size and even tried straight pins as well.
Brother I can show you the best way to repair that Shock absorbers, can’t name what are you doing, problem solve the way I do it …
Can you show me?
Huh?
@@OvelNick I think ole Google translate failed him there, lol,i dont understand it either.
