I am rendered absolutely speechless... A dear friend of mine just sent this to me, and Oh my god. This has to be one of the most beautiful things, I think I have ever seen put to video... I am absolutely in utter awe at the sheer spiritual stunning gorgeousness, that is this little piece of such a vastly astounding visual... Just, oh my god...♥ Thank you for this...♥
....I love music that takes me somewhere... I believe music to be man's greatest achievement... all other things can either be done without or we do them for survival... But with music like this, we're able to rise above it all and stretch Our arms to span creation.. this world's end is part of a cycle...but I weep in the thought of Our music being forgotten
The HD version is mind blowing.... absolutely brilliant and a beautiful merge of those two tracks to video... I started to hear Jocelyn Pook's Hell Fire & Damnation running through this... I just looked her up and had no idea she was part of 4AD and This Mortal Coil collaborations... It all makes sense now.
yes it is, i made it myself and it's almost the same edited images i used for Lisa Gerrard "Redemption"; i'm glad Sony use it, but i guess they can use every video they want from youtube.
@StitchxHare Many thanks. Saw this long time ago but never couldn´t remember the name of the movie. Great band and song. The first 24 secs of the clip... just amazing.
The opening scene of this video always reminds me of Gandalf from Lord of the Rings saying: "The gray rain curtain of this world rolls back and all turns to silver glass and then you see it; white shores and beyond a far green country under a swift sunrise."
Most of us are familiar with Dead can Dance, who contributed "Waves become wings" for "It'll end in tears", but several artists that contributed to This Mortal Coil are better known for their TMC work than for their own releases. Check out this compilation of songs by This Mortal Coil artists called "Candles and Echoes": czcams.com/video/6PiFTI6zCX8/video.html
@StitchxHare WOW !!!! thanx for that answer, how funny, i saw that movie long time ago but i did not recognize that THEY did the music!!! how great!!! i will try to find the movie on dvd ;-) have a nice day, best greetings from berlin, t...OM
Shame you cut off the end where it rolls into Dreams Made Flesh...that's one of the best parts on the album, that transition. Love Baraka...it was part of the same era as that album. Did you all know it's sequel finally was made??..came out last year I believe...I need to check again to see if it has ever been released to Blu Ray yet.
this mortal coil brilliant-amazing vocals by elizabeth frazer and gordon sharpe-love kangaroo -dont know if you still remember me gordon (if reading this) knew you in edinburgh x
This was my favourite song when I was 14 / 15. I later found the Original by Tim Buckley and that is now No.1 for me. CZcams it - The version where his picture has a blue shade to it. Beautiful ( as is this version )
such beauty, so sad that nuclear power (Fukushima) is still ticking away 4 yrs.with no end in sight yet!! Such natural gifts will become distant memories .WTF wake up !!
Whoever allowed ads in the middle of this should be ashamed of themselves and their culture.
Waves become wings

Sometimes songs take you to a " place".
Thats what all music is suppose to do for people ...lol
....I love music that takes me somewhere... I believe music to be man's greatest achievement... all other things can either be done without or we do them for survival... @@atrocious_pr0xy beautifully said. :)
Its the video thats taking me to a place......many places in fact.
@Tonya, well unfortunately, the majority of the time, music doesn't do that. So when it DOES, it's mind-blowing.
Lisa.., my favorite Artist. (Her along w/ Liz Fraser that is..)
Lisa Barnett no, is not you.. :P
Lisa Barnett =) i think she meant Lisa Gerrard, member of the This Mortal Coil project
The HD version is mind blowing.... absolutely brilliant and a beautiful merge of those two tracks to video... I started to hear Jocelyn Pook's Hell Fire & Damnation running through this... This is the sort of thing that makes people use the expression "beyond words".
The only correct way to listen to these songs is together
Perfect music to listen to in the dark and to let your imagination roam wild to.
Beautiful and made me escape reality for a while

Currently eating a KFC Famous Bowl listening to this while in my darkened apartment and staring into the middle distance…
Thank you for posting this....
i like to consider myself a pretty strong woman but sometimes her voice and those keys combined do make me cry.
Why would crying be incompatible with being strong ? ;)
every single time
yes it is, i made it myself and it's almost the same edited images i used for Lisa Gerrard "Redemption"; i'm glad Sony use it, but i guess they can use every video they want from youtube.
Sitting in my darkened apartment... Just kinda staring off into the middle distance.
