As a newer soror, I feel that we need to get back to stepping like this..NO DISSING, just positive chanting and promoting things such as today's election. Even in 1996, they were promoting folk to vote. Coincidence, I think not.
Hands down STILL the best step show I've ever seen! Positive, uplifting, proactive, classy and precise! I love the message behind every step and everything was so together! I wish unity like this dominated the things of today! Women like this (movers, shakers) are the legacy that Delta Sigma Theta and the other sororities were built on. It's all about history! #Inspired

Right. What is STILL should be about. When you go back to what the original focus of the organization was...it should STILL be in effect. If you are NOT ABOUT THAT LIFE, then you are NOT ABOUT THAT ORG. SERVICE IS TIMELESS!!!

Uplift their communities, and if they want to chant, make it something positive about their own group, or heck, be bold and be positive about someone elses. :) This new school style of stepping, dissin, and dressin ( and booty shaking) , is bringing the image down of the sororities today.

@eleeselewis100 no i think thats fine if Delta is what you want to do however there are certain ways to express that I didn't want my comment to sound like i was jumping down your throat because i too was once the admirer of DST all i want you to be aware of is to be a little discrete. I hope you one day take the journey to Delta land if you deserve it and are ready to work for it. It takes hard work and dedication. Good luck to you and hopefully one day you can get ur wish
@JIzlar Remixed or not, please create your own steps. It can be done. I am a former stepmistress of an NPHC sorority and we created all of our steps, some new and some of which have been in our sorority for years. We didn't look at videos of other groups and use their steps.

My gosh, I'm only 18 but I would love to join a sorority that stepped for the right cause instead of to rude songs they hear at clubs and the latest dance moves with it. Helping the community will be the first step into helping the world! I see black greek sisters wearing symbols that they have no clue what the TRUE meaning is for it and how we had to FIGHT for our own greek sorority. Black greek soros and fraterns, if you ask me, have been turned into competition amongst others.
It’s too bad that it’s changed into booty poppin, dissin others, derogatory rap music and which girl can act the most ratchet. Today they all act like they are paying tribute when in reality, the ladies from back in the day would be disgusted and embarrassed with what their sororities represent and how they carry themselves today.

Becoming a Delta takes hard work and dedication. Nicely put you have not earned the right to do our call so my advice to you is to be patient, show respect and be careful about doing that publicly. Hopefully you can one day say you are a lady of Delta...
When being in a Greek organization was a good thing, because service was actually the main focus and not bashing other sororities. I love this video.
