National Geographic Make Your Own Volcano Set | Ollie's Adventures

Ollie learns how to make a volcano at home (and an ENORMOUS eruption!) with the National Geographic Make Your Own Volcano Set. Watch out, it's going to get messy!

This home volcano set from Nat Geo Kids is awesome! The kit comes with everything you need to make a volcano out of plaster, and then make it erupt with an explosion of bright red lava! It's the perfect STEM experiment to encourage kids to become interested in science.
The whole process of building the volcano was really easy:
1. Mix the volcano plaster with cold water, and stir well.
2. Pour the volcano plaster into the volcano mould. Leave for 30 minutes until it starts to set.
3. Take the volcano our of the volcano mould.
4. Place the volcano in the oven at 95°C (200°F) for around an hour.
5. Leave the volcano to cool.
6. Paint the volcano using the included paints and paint brush.
7. Let the paint completely dry.
8. Pour the Citric Acid and Eruption Power into a container. Mix well.
9. Place one tablespoon of the Eruption Mixture into the mouth of the volcano.
10. Pour water into the mouth of the volcano and watch it EXPLODE!
Be warned that it can be quite messy!
