absolutely love the concept of the last remaining skynet terminator vs alternate timeline legion terminator and how they interact, with neither really knowing how to deal with each other
Yes its very interesting
actually according to lore skynet sent several terminators back in time to the year 1998 in search of john for revenge
You ain't alone my brother I freaking loved it. At the very end when both are destroyed side by side each other was just too awesome and I'm glad they made this scene!

2:10 I love the Rev-9's reaction when it sees Arnie's mechanical arm. You can tell he's thinking "Wait... That's not Legion design, what the hell?!"
It likely already knew that Carl wasn't Legion, right? I mean, Terminator Genisys proved that even the T-800 series can recognize both polymimetic alloy and whatever machine phase matter that the T-3000 was made of. It's reasonable to assume the REV9 could do the same thing to the T-800.
@@kitblue3194 Yeah, it probably did know at this point. We definitely do see that Terminators can identify that stuff, and the Rev units seem to be far more advanced, so it makes sense that it knew Carl was not human. It's just funny to me how he looks at Carl's arm when it punches with an almost confused look.
@@Hei_Darkfire One cute little detail from earlier in the scene is when the Rev-9 at first tries to run straight past Carl to get at Dani but gets grabbed and chokeslammed much to its surprise and it's only after that you see it stop to scan Carl and realise 'dang hold on, this guy's a terminator.'

Its clear that Skynet was more dangerous than legion, The Rev9 had a struggle against the T-800
Imagine what a Tx would do let alone a phased plasma rifle
T 800 was physically stronger than Rev 9 or grace
T-800 in this scene is stronger because he thinks like a human. Carl can be cunning and tricky. 3:01 Look how Carl decides to stop Rev 9 he additionally bends that metal pin in order to stop Rev 9 and immediately takes away his weapon. In addition Carl can calculate probabilities and this makes him ahead of the curve.
In the 40-watt range?
Did you not see the Rev-7's? Legions better... this movie still trash.
@Champion skynet isn’t gay like legion
*Rev-9 clears skin off Carl’s arm*
Carl: Are you kidding me.
He’s like”Not again😫”
that's more like the rev-9's facial reaction, its like "aw shit, another machine to fight off." i mean, seriously? these things are machines and they exhibit emotions on their faces, they should behave like engine blocks beating the lubricant and the pistons out of each other.
@@PR0KZi carl is not the same unit as in other films (ex.: carl is not pops, and carl is not the same unit in T2 dropped into molten steel doing the thumbs up), they are all t-800's so they all look the same (same specific type make and cloned flesh), just like how cars are made, as explained by the unit in T3 they all come off from some assembly line, this is the very first time carl got his arm filleted.

I love how Rev 9 just ignores other people. It's almost like he wants the plot to progress.
Looks like it kills when it's only necessary towards its mission
@@freddyandfoxy7526 the Rev-9 thinks the same as Arnold and Robert does since he's a hybrid of both
His mission is the girl only and those who attack him
The terminators tend to behave this way as well when they're programmed to do something specific, if the person is not a target or doesn't seem to be a significant threat no more, they will ignore them, the T-1000 left the T-800 alone when it got its arms stuck in the gears, however after that encounter the T-1000 tried to kill off the T-800 so it wouldn't get in the way no more after it broke off its arm to free itself from the gears.
@@leonela1605 they all did it going back to the original model in 1984
I think I'm the only one giving Arnold credit for his amazing performance regardless of the movie, it's challenging for someone his age to do what he did.

I agree; this film has its flaws, but Schwarzenegger's not one of them.
I think a small redeeming touch is the fact that rev9, while being punched, tried to rip t800 arm off only to find out it's a machine like him, he looked startled for a split second.
Would think that the REV-9 would have better sensors than the T-800 to identify on what it's fighting sense it was made in the future with new advance technology?
@@night-x6793You assume Legion made infiltration units with living tissue the Rev 9 probably could only identify the living tissue that covers the t 800 which it read as human
@@terrancehylton-lyons1776 More like how the REV-9 couldn't detect the metal ectoskeleton of the T-800 but yet a T-800 can detect a REV-9 with just it's outdated sensors which even in T2 that T-800 can detect a T-1000 on a phone.
The main point is how Skynet started a war in the 90's when technological AI had limitations somehow made machines with the ability to easily detect other machines that were made at a later time like the T-1000 or the T-3000 John in Genisys but yet Legion can't make something with the same identification abilities like the T-800 has.
@@night-x6793 Fun fact: The T-800 also has EMP invulnerability, unlike REV-9. I think the T-800 is unironically superior to a REV-9, let alone something like a T-850.
@@ElIisL4D2 I remember in the Future War they needed a special EMP weapon to capture a T-850 unharmed but is part of the T3 storyline.
Anyway the main point is how a future advanced AI with new updated scanning tech to identify more better than older technology from 20+ years ago as well the T-800 calculated how to beat the REV-9 which on top of that the T-800 scanned the case to identify the EMP unit.
I question why Legion is lacking everything that is basically available at that time when Skynet had to wait 30 years to develop similar things but with better improvements?
I'ma just pretend like this movie never happened. He died in the hot lava with the thumbs up.
He needed a vacation.
I think the canon ending is the cut ending wher judgment day never happens. If you want another good piece of terminator media, I highly suggest playing Terminator: Resistance. It has horrible graphics, and is not really a modern type of game, but it’s actually really good and adds let’s you live through the future war (with lasers)

Agreed
When Arnold fires the grenade launcher at the rev-9’s liquid body, is that a reference to how he beat the T-1000 in T2?
Sort of
It is a wink. The only difference is that when firing with the grenade, the REV-9's black liquid metal did not die, nor did it even flinch at the blast and regenerate underwater.
@@argendosvmsungil Robert Patrick's T-1000 was a real badass, the heat from the foundry was messing with its ability to reform after the grenade blast in T2.....the T-1000's menacing stare alone would have the Rev-9 sh*tting liquid metal pooh into its liquid metal pants.
@@hmartinspliff T-1000 was damaged from the extreme temperatures it is its geastest weakeness. Also the most vulnerable to plasma weapons.

Before we kill eachother: We gotta do It.
Well, destroy.
Hmm, if Legion up against Skynet, Legion would shit itself, Skynet are more aggresive, powerful and armored than this stealthy, light Legion robots
Think about this: the Rev-9 is made of carbon fiber, which is a light material on its own. Then Legion makes the skeleton with more cavities.
Skynet made its terminators with more mass and bulk, and while more powerful than the Rev-9, it would have trouble getting an advantage over a Legion Terminator.
The only reason they fought for so long is that they are from alternate timelines. They don’t know how to fight each other.
@le Hoarderz Al-Shekelsteins Skynet doesnt have main core since all functions by itself

One thing I really liked about dark fate is that rev9 always was super focused on killing Danny whenever he saw her and that kinda made him weak as others could focus on dealing with him.
Could they make the scenes darker? I could almost see what’s going on.
They have to make it super dark so you can hardly see the massive amount of CGI lmao

2:07 Arnold was like "hey, you have no rights for that!"
And they said that the Rev-9 was the deadliest terminator in The Legions timeline. smh they really need to send 5 terminators back in time instead of just 1.
I have always wonder why they keep sending one terminator to do the job.
And why john conor keep seeding a robocop style terminator instead of a liquid terminator
@@jonalex9002 The reason JC only sent back 1 terminator and an T-800(850) is due to the T-800(850) having learning computers (read and write) the T-1000 only had a read only computer and couldnt be hacked by rebels. But skynet did send back more then 1 T-800 hence what happend at the beginning of this film.
@@xrion236 The T-1000 is just as capable of learning and adaptation as the T-800. It was the polymimetic alloy nanite composition itself that made it nigh on impossible to reprogram. Added to that, very few T-1000s were actually made. Skynet was afraid of what would happen if a bunch of them decided to rebel, and rightfully so.
@@tek512 I haven't seen that argument many times but I really like it. The T1000 already knows how to smile and develop a friendly behavior, Skynet gave the ability of learning to the T1000 knowing full well that it can rebel against it. I feel like there are so many times where the REV 9 could've easily killed all the targets, yet decided not to. Take the factory fight, for instance. It could've split to fight Grace, or used the liquid body as bait while the endoskeleton waited in case something went wrong. And then this scene, where the REV 9 doesn't crash their plane into Dani's plane, which would effectively kill Dani.
They needed the rev-9 to screw up, or we wouldn't have a movie. The rev-9 really would have disposed of everyone by the third encounter.
plot armor, it's why the Terminators just throw people around in 3, Salvation, and Genisys
The look on the Rev-9's face when it realizes Carl is stronger and more durable than it is.
I generally feel like this film would have worked better if there was some connection between Skynet and Legion, or something to keep a through line instead just just being half a reboot. But I do love all the times Rev-9 is backfooted by the T-800 being just completely outside its understanding
Not sure about durable when Rev9 broke one of T-800 arm in half while Rev9 have yet to received any real damage from T-800 attacks from its punches.
Don’t forget that the T-800 literally rag dolled the rev-9 endoskeleton in the last fight.
@@kachanekusmitse8000Wrong. The sole reason Rev-9 managed to do that was because of his Nanotech part came to back it up in time.

They did acknowledge the plane and allowed it to get within close proximity due to a previously scheduled move. They simply didn't expect it to crash into them.
The Rev-9 never once feels threatening in this movie because it just spends 2 hours getting it's ass kicked at every turn.
that's because it has to contend with grace and carl AT THE SAME TIME (not to mention sarah's tactical experience added to the mix, in the story she acted like a seasoned veteran consultant). poor thing never stood a chance, as carl said it, this mission has a high probability for success.

It is the second time in a Terminator movie that the T-800 uses its fists to strike, without the need for heavy objects. He continues to retain his great strength as a killing machine even though his living tissue has aged. It seems that REV-9 is not interested in fighting with him for wanting to kill Dani at all costs. But with the plane falling violently, she would have died from the cargo that the C-5 carries inside next to the vehicle, but if it were, this movie would be called "final destination: dark fate".
The tissue doesn't matter, as long as the endoskeleton isn't damaged it's fine.

When the Rev-9 ripped the flesh off Carl’s left forearm (and then the skeletal forearm later, when they were underwater) it was the same arm that Carl had used to kill John. This was the process of Carl being cleansed of his great sin, on the way to his final sacrifice.

Major issue i think i had with the Rev-9 was its invulnerability, would have been good to see it have some kind of weakness or short cummings like a limited amount of nanites(black goo) so over time it couldnt fully complete its form throughout the film or seeing its exoskeleton get damaged in some way leading to it being weakened then we really wouldn't need the silly super-human/alternative JC we could have seen a true "the enemy of my enemy is my ally" theme going on. Maybe even of had some kind of merger of the 2 realities having to set things right so skynet actually wins over legion.
Even with Legion being an alternate Skynet the T800 still reigns supreme above all machines.

Few things wrong with this..... the cargo hold of the C-5 is right but the flight deck is all wrong and you cant open the nose or tail end in flight..... there are preventative measure to stop that. Engine is on fire and wing rips apart but no fuel comes out.
Open the cargo bay😂😃Arnold is just casually floating by😂
3:33 call back to the t1000 exploding via grenade pill
This scene was badass
40mm grenades can’t detonate at that range
It’s a movie….
I do think the Rev-9s (and Rev-7s) concept is interesting, shame it's ..
Well, this movie.
Not gonna lie the separating from the endoskeleton thing is pretty cool.
You know this reminds me of the Minor Turbulence mission from GTA V
