LUCY!? - I am everywhere
The game is processed frame by frame on your computer, so you would not see the game skip forward in time like this. Instead, it would freeze and eventually stop running (if the fps ever hits 0)
@@seeker296 I thought it was based on ticks per second not tied to framerate, and you can have a 0 tps 60 fps game that's essentially frozen, or a 60 tps 0 fps game that would appear frozen but could still process input. I could be wrong though
@@nenben8759 yeah, i support you. unless you computer gave up processing because mood debuff by lack of tables.
I feel like I'm playing a different game then everyone else. The game I know I build a mud hut, get food poisoning cause my dumbass thought eating raw meat would be a neat idea, then quit the game for two months after my last survivor steps on his own trap and dies.

well he IS probably playing on builder negating a whole lot of negative stuff raids probably included
Use common sense mod for getting rid of the food poisioning .Put doors between traps I put doors after 3-4 traps and only got one or two times get into traps in a whole gameplay.
You *will* believe that one man dared to ask, "what if I built a colony but the rooms weren't just a bunch of rectangles and the pathways weren't orthogonal lines?"
Was that man Portuguese?
Context: the Portuguese were one of the few coloniser countries whose colonial cities didn't follow a strict grid plan or square patter (like the Spanish were so known for doing)
@@pedrolmlkzk that’s really interesting! I’ll have to look into it more
@@william8805 look up Salvador, Rio's old center, Lisbon, Luanda, Goa or Porto for some examples
@@pedrolmlkzk that’s very interesting!
@@pedrolmlkzk Wasn't this mostly done because of just how old it is? Grid patterns came in with more modern industry and a plan in mind. Before that we just kinda had to build around whatever was already there so we never really had any real structure.
Over 100 hours of work, probably frustrating at times with the fps drop, and we get 18 minutes of gold. I love you and your videos, I am a hell of a sucker for your timelapses, wish for new ones every day and for that I honestly thank you. The effort you put in it can't be shown on those few minutes but I appreciate every second of it. Awesome job and hope to see a lot more videos from you!
@Xen Glaris i guess rimworld doesnt use all of it?
@Xen Glaris it only uses a single core. Thats why it's so demanding.
@Xen Glaris For the best performance get the best CPUs with *SINGLE THREAD* performance (great also for strategy games overall as well) The frustrating thing about rimworld is that everything is running on only core and for what I understand, only on thread.
Edit: Qucik google search it seems that rimworld is indeed multithreaded, maybe the slowdowns are caused by the sheer ammount of things the game has to calculate each frame
Another quick edit: Actually Multithread does not makes your game run faster, but rather more responsive, EG: Game will slowdown, but you´ll atleast be able to clikc stuff in the UI because that´s on a different threadt, silly me!
@@neofilomata3254 it only use one core, they can't figure out how to provide all the pawn order and movement in different cores, it's a problem of the engine used
@@neofilomata3254 So the best CPU for RimWorld is a single thread CPU?

Hmm yes and then you go full goblin and grab z-levels for more cave
That's an insane base, managing that work tab must have been absolute hell though.
Copy and paste!
I'd have to imagine they have some sort of mod to help ease with it, otherwise that's dozens of hours spent on scheduling and priorities alone. I also wonder if they have a mod installed to simplify the processing for colonist tasks. Seeing as a lot of people get lag at 50 colonists, this would be an INSANE lagfest
I find that whenever I play with 50+ colonists, I can just disregard the work tab entirely. There's no need for efficiency anymore because there's just enough manpower to get the job done fast enough.
@@thonktank1239 Might actually try that. Currently running a colony with 70ish people and I'm starting to get sick of scrolling through the work tab when I get a new recruit.
Colony manager bro
I love how he's not afraid of not building in squares and rectangles. Truly inspiring
Dude if you build in anything but those shapes then wth are you doing? How do you shove this long rectangle work bench in that weird triangle corner?!
*hopelessly failing at putting workbench in like it's a childs shape game*
i like how he does not build just boxes and large rectangles but makes some curvy buildings as well lol
The symmetry of the room only bothers us, the characters don't care at all. Try planning out what you'd LIKE to build first, then try shaping the walls around that. Don't question what'll be on the other side of the wall, you'll only confuse yourself.
17:53 if I zoomed out that far my computer would have a hernia
I snorted
This has inspired me: I'm gonna do a world domination build with 10 pawns.

@@nicolasbram165 if you lucky enough a thrumbos is OP
So let me get this straight. You made brick roads while you were still making houses out of wood?
houses of wood are very economical, roading is relatively more important since it speed up your pawns, wood will work fine until someones burn it down, also with brick roads amongs buildings teh fire won't spread unless you have an all in one base building, with that many pawns i dont think theres any kind of fire they couldnt quench before it spread significantly.
@@felipeaugusto6991 *-account of Felipe Augusto, Westminster City Official in response to the Fires of London, 1666*
@@felipeaugusto6991 Yeah, until they burn down, like you said. I mean, it's fun to watch, big cities are still impressives. Still there nearly no defense, and most treats seems fully disabled. It's a builder video, so wood or what else, no importance i think.
Dakini Dream I saw a couple of piles of dead bodies though!
@@quint7528 nah that was just decoration
Y'know, I think one of the things I like most about Rimworld is the progression. True rags to riches, one step at a time progression. It feels so much more satisfying to look back at all you accomplished than having a megabase just handed to you and trying to make it work
This was amazing Ryan! I really like how you changed the flooring up in the bedrooms, makes them look more interesting instead of plan blue carpet.
man I love how your build according to the environment and how you flow with nature basically.
Now I'm a abit sad this was just for the timelapse and not a series of its own. Hope you'll get to gitterworld soon in Empires.
@Nando Garcia nah, you just let most of them do whatever they please. Whether its breaking or being productive... that's when it starts imitating real societies
This is absurd! I love how it expands like an actual city would and the end result is out of this world. Amazing work!
I like how most of us rimworld players start by being spooned on a mountain/cliff
If you posted the save file, I think it'd be pretty cool to make like a 'fallen city's scenario, where you gotta rebuild this place after it's fallen. It'd be fun and maybe challenging if people in cryptosleep were added.
That actually sounds like a lot of fun. Like the whole place gets burned down, ransacked, and blown up, save for a secluded cave room with 6 colonists who wake up several years later
@@radiofrog yeah, preferably the sons or daughter of the colonists in this time lapse.
I looked up pro play to get ideas and stumbled across this video. Glad I did. True art. This guy is a natural architect & art-smith. Truly a work of art. Great job on this town! Not too many people would have the brilliancy to make such a tasteful village! We're all squares & rectangle people with 1 block roads xD. 2 thumbs up.
Absolute maniac. This is insane! How did your PC not catch fire after 20 pawns and 20 animals? This was so relaxing to watch.
My PC is old, like Intel 6300 old, and still runs fine with 20 colonists and 40 animals
This is amazing. That colony looks more organic then anything I’ve ever seen in rim world. It’s just amazing.
The color work on the bedroom floors adds a really nice touch :)
Great timelapse again Ryan! Looking forward to the tour so I can see how the glitternet works.
That's amazing, I love your timelapses! It must have been a ton of work, I'm glad you'll do a walkthrough so we can appreciate it in more detail
My game just starts slowing down hard on 30 colonists, how is this even possible ? And what are those cryo capsules rooms for ?
The misbehavors what else.
Thats where the all the bad kids are kept
It's a builder-video, for the show. With a vanilla storyteller you will have a hard time to get so many pawns. You would have raid after raid, sickness, and all imaginable bad things happening in your colony. I think at first OP has a pretty good machine to run the game, then some tools for performance. Also admin spawns help bit with lag. ;)
Seems most treads are no existent, or lowered at max.
So don't worry, most players experiment lag when they reach a highter number of colonists. Map size is also important, on bigger maps you will have a much harder time. Some mods are very performance heavy, don't forget many are players made, and not made by professional scripters.
The Cryo pods can be used to contain people who might be going crazy due to a psychic wave. That or to speed things up when they're not needed, ex. A dedicated distant mining team or security/millitary since skills don't degrade in there.
I wish I could play Rim world on a custom earth map with mods and Start skipping the tech tree just to See what happens when you Nuke to many places
Ooh, the thumbnail looks so pretty! Can't wait to see the real thing. I'm afraid I'll miss the premiere, but that's why I prefer VOD (CZcams) over Twitch or other live platforms.
I hope you'll go less nuts now you're no longer trapped between two games :P
If you miss the premiere, the proper video will be available as soon as it finishes so it will be VOD beyond the initial release. And ya, dropping the 8+ hours a day I spent on this is going to make for a much more relaxed Ryan... though the heat is going to be back this week XD
@@Ryan123220 I'll be there then ^-^
Gods, I'm feeling you. I looked outside and all I saw was clouds, so I dressed for about 17°C. What I got was 24°C. Not looking forward to summer
I've watched this video like 10 times already and CZcams keeps shoving it in my face every few weeks. From time to time I just watch it again, every single time just as mesmerized.
Great job Ryan! I felt like I was attending a red carpet premiere.
Honestly, how absurd, I can't understand how a single person can do and coordinate something like that, you are to be congratulated, what an amazing video
Never have I ever seen so much production before
This was amazing to watch, very intriguing! I would love for you to post more of these
The sheer size of photos used to make this is amazing . I wish more people could see how much effort was put into it.
NO effort! I can do this same thing! Press "prt sc" every in game HOUR and just edit the fucking PHOTOS into a video, EASY but you fools are HANDING THIS MAN MONEY via AD REVENUE for doing NOTHING
I started this game up for the first time yesterday. What you showed in the first 16 seconds of this time lapse isnt even what i had in an hour and a half..
For real, i had an 8x8 farm and a room with 3 beds squished in it. It took me multiple in game days before i even realised i had to butcher things before being able to make food and i ended up with a storage full of rotten animal corpses lmao
Two years kate, but my current run is a 25 hour save game, none of my combat pawns have heavy duty armor, nor is the colony looking good.
Gosh dang if you don't make some ascetically pleasing bases... whew!
Very satisfying to watch.
Thanks, finally a timelapse, love your timelapses.
I wish my PC could handle this amount of colonists. Anyways, this is one amazing build. The structures felt so natural.
I wish settlements were this big imagine leading an army into a city like this, it would be awesome
Respect for taking so much time on this timelapse
Great job Ryan, thoroughly enjoyed it and can't wait for a tour and details of your thought process as around the build
damn, even though I have probably the same amount of mods my i5 6500 can't even handle 30 pawns on map
I wish the ultimate endgame of rimworld wasn't leaving the planet, but conquering it. It would be nice to make colonies right next to each other and have the gameplay experience change depending on how many you had. Like raids become wars and you have to send troops from a training colony to the frontlines of your industry colony etc.
Checkout the "Empires" mod then
This ist so beautiful, congratulations

The raids must have been almonds impossible to deal with
Except if you play on builder difficulty
yeah they were probably nutty...
not a single drop of blood in the vid nor there is any defences. has to be builder difficulty
Its beautiful, I have looked at this for five hours now.
Bought the game the other day and I'm just in awe, this dude has over 100 people where I can play 3 hours straight and not get one person.
i can't imagine how your PC holds with that bunch of mods
P.S How long does that modpack to load
Amazing, as usual. I think the church is my favourite. Did it ever actually get used for weddings?
You can put down a marriage spot
This is just epic honestly, the dedication.
Such a great time-lapse!
Highly suggest making Growing a far more important job. I tend to assign every single pawn I have to cut and grow on priority 1 or 2. After they are done farming they get back to work. I cannot wait for Smash Phil's Vehicles framework coming out in a month or few. One thing it's adding is a plow attachment to harvest huge farms at once.
Its been a while but i have never heard of this mod. Did it come out?

I'm still sitting here confused on how they dealt with all the raids with like no defense
dude fr, I think he just played on peaceful imo
@@betterjustice6697 That's what i'm thinkin, every fiber of my being was wondering why he was putting such important buildings so out in the open for raids. Like that nuclear reactor, that shit woulda have tribals clamboring to smack down his base every 2 days no way would he be able to deal with all the hoards with that setup.
Amazing timelapse as always :)
The dedication in this video is really amazing............. 10728 photos!
