This might be the dumbest question ever, but why for example make the beat in 140bpm and not 70? I mean rap wise we still usually go 12 or 16 bars in a verse, so that's 24 and 32 bars in 140 right? What am I missing here? What's the benefit of doubling the bpm besides the metronome going twice as fast when cooking beats? Not trying to start shit, just been thinking about this for a while.
