I have recently acquired a 78 R100 and it seems your concept for this one is in line with what I was thinking. I’m really enjoying this series and getting inspiration along the way. Thanks and I’m looking forward to the next installment.

Nice to know you can still get rebuild kits for those old forks. And don't those yokes, especially the top one, look spindly compared with modern bikes? I suppose they're steel rather than aluminium?

Hi Ant. The forks are backwards. Just checking you know before you torque everything up.
Ha ha. Yes they are. They need twisting around.
I'm not familiar with BMW forks but don't the tight winds on the springs usually go at the top?
In theory, yes, (less unsprung weight) - in actuality, it won't make any noticeable difference to either the ride or the operation.

No not on this.
