I agree . I just very much appreciate the accuracy of the NASB over the ESV . I am certainly wanting to get my hands on a Legacy Standard Bible soon . So grateful for all the men throughout history that He has allowed to labor for the sake of His Holy word. Many of which had to give there lives . Thank you Lord
Well an old gentleman moved to our town whom I became friends with. As a gift he gave me a KJV bible with cross references, and a Strongs Concordance to match. I'm not a scholar but all I can say is my understanding of the scriptures has grown exponentially since. I no longer use my old NIV. Thankyou Lord for sending the old man.

The best 3 resource in my opinion is God, prayer and the Bible. That’s it. Sometimes the basics is all you need. God and the holy spirit will take care of the rest.

Because poetry often uses non-literal language to make a point. This is why we don't imagine that God has literal wings like a chicken. The Spirit illumines the mind of mankind to his Word, which can be learned in many ways including the gifted teachers in God's church who are empowered and particularly gifted for such ministries by the same Spirit who inspired the text and illumines the mind.
I don't understand this mentality. Why people are so anti-intellectual. It took men blessed with great intellect to give us the bible as we have it today. Do people who speak like this have a copy of their own Bible which they wrote out by personal revelation. Just asking?
In Rm 12:2 Paul explicitly tells us to renew our minds. The word he used means the carnal mind. So yes, these kinds of resources are incredibly helpful for accomplishing this instruction.
A reformed brother told me they can’t wait to get to heaven and shake Martin Luther and all the others hands. It’s idolatry of mans works. All Denominations do the same thing with Pauls writings. The MacArthur, Reformation and ESV study bibles are my three choice study bibles too

Can you tell me what must one do to be saved?
Tell me what is the gospel according to the holy word of God?
