I’m a sucker for desk setup videos. 😂 must be why YT put this on my recommended lists. Good video overall and welcome to LA. I invested in a sit to stand desk a few months into the pandemic and it was worth it. I also bought an expensive chair a few months after that after doing a lot of online research and have been happy. I think that desk chairs need to be used for quite a few months daily before they can be be fully judged - unless they’re really bad lol. The last thing I wanted to write is there’s one piece of equipment I found that I never knew that I needed - until I bought it. That’s a monitor light bar. This has changed my whole way of working and playing.

Those on limited budgets who cannot afford a pricey standup desk might check out art and craft desks at thrift stores. They're not motorized, but their height and angle are adjustable. Use a regular desk for sitting. Use the art desk for standing.

Are you doing any new updates in your PC and which GPU is compatible with your PC? Which GPU would you want to get? Nice setup Ella. I recommend getting some tower rails/velcro to mount the pc under the desk. Will add for a cleaner setup that will all move on the wheels of the desk and help to minimize dust in the pc case.
Not sure if you have noticed a glare on your screen, but I found that facing the desk so the long side is parallel to the window, is nice because you can look off to the side a little and are always seeing out the window. I also recently got a innocn 29" for my verticle portrait monitor. I feel like you'd love this addition. But your setup is super clean! I enjoy your videos and just wanted to say hey. Congrats on graduating and moving! Are you keeping the Steelcase chair even though it’s only a little better than the Ticova? I like the ergonomics and lumbar support from the Steelcase Leap chair but can’t justify the crazy price. I had no idea just how expensive these high-end ergonomic office chairs were…
indeed - tried a few cheap options but the plastic of the lumbar just pushed deep into my back - not a fan... Paying a bit more for a good chair or a good bed always makes sense

so what do you use with your m2 MacBook Air?
Just a thought. Why not use/build a purpose-built desktop PC for your content creation work? You already have the main components (ie case, motherboard, 32GB RAM kit, PSU). Just throw in a new 10-core i5 12600k which is a significant step-up in performance from your existing 11500 and an RTX 3060 GPU (both can be had for cheap now) since newer gens are out. It will most certainly increase your productivity and rendering speeds, without the need for a Macbook sharing the same desk-space.

welcome to LA, ella! of course, we're in a state where the hangloose state's basically got no defense laws. and yes, cali is also called the hangloose state and not just the golden state, kinda similar to hawaii. if you know some martial arts that are actually useful, not aikido since it doesnt work in the streets, good. even better if u have at least 2 cans of pepper spray on you and a knife or 2 on you that are sharp and ready for combat. you're welcome for the tip! and, hope you're ready for some good tech and decent phone plans that are all better than up north in toronto since pre-paid sims are actual trash. and i love your setup too, ella!

Have U thought about a wrist rest? Even if your elbows are in the right position, your wrists are still angled upwards--which isn't great for ergonomics.
I just moved from NYC to Florida and had to leave most of my stuff in storage. Love your new desk setup, and good luck in LA!

With wheels for sure. I like moving furniture around also, but I think that I inherited that quality from my mother.

Studio display was a loan, so I just returned it and for the rest I gave away to family/friends
