Perhaps they were a little late for this type of music as they released their debut album in 2006. The rock genre had definitely changed by then not for the better imho. I really liked them right from the start but I find it sad that they never got the recognition or sales that I feel they truly deserved, especially for a supergroup loaded with talent.
"Hey, dad... what do you think about your son now?..." That vocal line always really kicked on the 2000 Filter single, and kicks here. Man. In total agreement with others here. I loved AOA. Played the CD all 2007. The DeLeo brothers do it justice here on guitars, and Ray Luzier, too. It really works well. Thanks for posting this cool vid.
Listen to KEXP. Mainstream music has rarely been that good and mainstream radio has always been shit. And listen to Laughter Train if you like music made by the De Leo Brothers.
@@adamw116 Laughter Train was a great Seattle band during the height of the grunge era but is the classic story of getting fucked over by the record company, etc. Good songs AND had Rob DeLeo on bass and Dean DeLeo playing the solos. The album never got released but I do have the songs uploaded to youtube. One song is here: czcams.com/video/JmbxxF9_07I/video.html
There is always good music. Every generation comes to the table with epic talent. But we have our faves. If I had stopped with what I liked in high school I would have missed out on life. Never stop listening to what’s new or you’ll be the loser. ❤️💋🇺🇸
This rivals much of the STP catalogue, and reigns post Weiland. Genuine and collaborative. I love that Eric gets to show his chops freely. Seems everyone's in the groove. Incredibly underrated.
yeah their acoustic stuff was incredible. This is the first i had heard of them and was so bummed I could not buy or watch these over and over! Thanks for uploading!!!
seeing these older lower quality blurred videos reminded me of a different "place in time"... golden times of technology before corporations took over everything... feels like a different lifetime already
They always pick singers who lowkey look like Scott haha. Jeff is basically his twin, Richard could be his brother and at the right angle Chester looked a lot like him too
Wow this is really strange :) it just seems to make sense to have Richard Patrick with Stone Temple Pilots, its a natural fit , TOO BAD STP DONT HAVE SCOTT WEILAND ANYMORE :( oh well , at least we still have stp with richard as army of anyone and now with chester from linkin park :)
No irritatingly. I love Richard Patrick and the DeLeos. Chester Bennington is ok, but he's doing a poor impression of Scott Weiland atm (although Scott is doing an equally poor impression of Scott Weiland as well).
One of two good filter songs. The reason no one remembers Army of Anyone is the frontman was long forgotten in 2005 They did better with chester Pennington and just being stone temple pilots instead of rebranding. Also having a note worthy vocalist
Bro - you’re an absolute idiot. They did an entire record as Army of Anyone, had nothing to do with STP, or Chester “Pennington” (as you foolishly call him). The Army of Anyone record was all original material, and was arguably the best rock & roll music that year. I saw them four times that year, and their live show was absolutely remarkable. It wasn’t a rebrand - it wasn’t a cover show. It was four guys making exceptional music, who happened also to have made exceptional music prior to this band.
It doesn’t get much better than this. It just needed the DeLeo touch. I like the quick vocal approach from Richard.
This is the band that should have taken over from STP. They were so great.
Nobody was more surprised than Dean that this band didn’t go supersonic. They didn’t get airplay. I heard Niki Sixx talk about them and got on board.
We'd all be better off if this band had taken off ........
I very much agree. The band was incredibly talented and who knows how many great tunes they would've produced if they had a longer run...
Just sick.
sh...man, what a great band. No copy of any other project they were having, they were themselves as a band here (in spite of this being a Filter song)
Good comment. ❤️🇺🇸
2022..still ♥️ this AMAZING BAND.
2023 - yes. ❤️🇺🇸
It blows my mind that these guys didn't blow up. Unbelievable talents, all of 'em. Nice uploads dude, good little set.

Why aren't more bands more like these very talented and professional guys? Very disappointing the music that is mainstream these days!

@@Genious. One of their newest bands or a sound alike band?

Gives me chills. I hope STP and Filter do some Army of Anyone for the fans during their upcoming concert dates. That would ROCK.
Well this is a Filter song but yeah I would have loved to here at least one more Army of Anyone record.
SERIOUSLY !!!!!!!!!!!!!
Still confounded that this group didn't hit with more people. Then again, reality is pretty confounding these days
You could say that again, brother.
richard's voice is powerful as fuck
It kicks my ass.
Yes!
I can't understand how AOA didn't take off.... They really were good. ❤
Just found these amazing songs. So good. Gives me chills.
Me too. Very emotional, beautiful song.

He sang the shit outta this one here mannn
Super Cool !!!
Love this acoustic version of this song. The screaming part was superb
Such a shame this never happened.
the most realistic fever dream I ever had
Great comment. It’s pure poetry.

Just amazing. I hope they get a chance to comeback.
one of my favorite song
I FEEL LIKE A NEW BORN
Fantastic
Fkn awesome looked over band
no AOA songs.. but they did bring RP up to do Piece Of Pie with them.
Patrick looks a little like Weiland

@@seanrobson I know right 😢 looking back we had it so good and didn't know it.
love it
Nice

Does anyone know if the key of this performance is the same as the record?
yep, same key (A major). Just checked it against the original Filter recording.
@@aka.Mr.French awesome thanks man!

You forget that Richard wasnt just Filter; he was also guitarist for Nine Inch Nails. He totally doesnt give a fuck about your opinion.
He doesnt sing this well at his other concerts. He sounds like hes out of breath all the time.
is he stp singer now?
