  • After a long 5 year design process, the Land Transport Authority, in conjunction with Alexander Dennis, launched the first ever 3-door Enviro500 in Right-Hand Drive configuration.
This 3D2S variant is derived from a similar concept used by Switzerland and Berlin, which are only available in LHD form.
Similar to the Berlin and Switzerland Enviro500, the Singapore variant is powered by a Mercedes Benz OM936 Diesel engine.
These 50 units of Enviro500 3D2S is the very last pure-diesel procurement for public buses in Singapore. New regulations specify any future procurement of new buses must be powered by either hybrid, pure electric or any other form of renewable energy.
The first units launched on 26th October 2021 plying SBS Transit Service 974 and SMRT Buses Service 190.

I saw in the video a guy waving for the bus driver to open the door for him to alight, I think most do not know (which of cause it isn't anyone's fault because we haven't had this before) but, there is a green button on the exit doors, those are for you to press or tap on it for the doors to open. I hope this helps :)

It's my understanding and I read somewhere that LTA turned that button off for some reason. I may be wrong. I've never tried pressing it to see if the door would open.

My favorite modern DD by far, with all that advanced technology and features this has. Properly and solidly built.
