Listening to this awesome track (We are the music makers) while reading on Wikipedia about the War of Greek Independence against the grip of the Ottoman Empire. Between chronicles of Greek bravery (Theodoros Kolokotronis capturing Tripolitsa) and checking Google maps to familiarize myself with the coastlines of the Aegean Sea, I remembered reading about the great battle on Crete when German paratroopers still won after taking huge losses and the British navy trying to help out but taking huge losses by the Luftwaffe, then on to lighter and more enticing visions of bathers splashing in the aqua blue coves of the island of Sardinia (just south of Corsica) and lounging bikini-clad dames on rocks basking. Makes me want to take a vacation!
This song was heard in telesecundaria history classes in Mexico, from 2006 to 2018. It makes you nostalgic when listening to it. Kind regards from Misantla, Veracruz, Mexico 🇲🇽🏫😄
I'd probably listened to this song intermittently over the past decade but I never knew this was Gene Wilder until yesterday. Sad that Gene Wilder died, but cool that RDJ sampled that phrase and used it in a great song. Mixed emotions with this one.
Got to dig that echoey syncopated hi hat constant line. It's not the first thing you'd focus on listening to the song but I feel it's just what makes it all work together
But if you do anything just keep it Honest and with Truth! is that too hard or too much for you! For any one of us . Helll no ! it's it only what you are afraid of be honest about that's your own fault and that goes for anyone of us all Too. Nuff said . 😤 Now take that and go have yourself a nice day and be good. When the aliens finally show up we should play them this first.
Breaksnbeats Yeah, during Area 51 raid
mmm good comment - I met the Aphex for 30 seconds in a cclluubb in `97 - he was p a t i e n t I was the dreamer of a dream
What you on about, aliens made this
There's already ton of illegal aliens in Chicago and New York try playing there brahahhhh
They're already here. Make no mistake.
Timeless. Selected Ambient Works 85-92 will be remembered forever.
Definitely. SAW8592 and Syro are the two best Richard albums in my opinion

Probably one of the most revolutionary ambient set
I think about this song multiple times a week
Sometimes i play it while i sleep. For many many years. I go outside and touch the ground.
I know you.
what about in 2021
You, my friend, need to get out more often.

Insert cliche CZcams comment: this track changed my life. Insert collective muted response...this track changed my life.
Output thousands of likes
But it did, if i wasnt listening to this song i would be listening to another, ergo it changed my life.
Richard James one of the greatest ever and greetings to all from Athens Greece.

the best part of thiz track is how the audio sample fills the space. without being over plugged after every hook. love this tune
organic song (it sounds organic. i dont know how to describe it but it does)
Harold Faltermeyer Bev Hills Cop. Nice.
The voice in this track is Gene Wilder from Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (1971)
But Julie Andrews had a wicked childhood that effected her Italic eyeball for the record.
Cool 🙂 1971 is also the year Aphex Twin was born
@MadArticDriver I did not know this, thank you very much. What a great poem!
Bless you fam, I've been rinsing this track out since it's release. Fuckin lovely. ♥️❤️♥️

That Gene Wilder sample is also on 808 State - Nephatiti from 1991. Both records are pretty special TBH

On the very beginning of the track, I imagine Filthy Frank dancing in slowmo video, then normal speed when beat kicks in.
thank you for the vivid imagery
I want his damn shirt.
This sounds pretty cool in .75x speed
Greetings from Atlantis 😊
Who ever heard of a snozzberry?
