    I did mine about a year ago ... the first time is not easy. I also messed up something with the float when putting the new one in, as the fuel gauge is completely out of sync with the actual level in the tank ... I will have to drop the tank again sometime to fix that,but im really not in the mood. These bakkies should have come with a trap door at that location by default ... I don't see myself cutting mine, as the kids usually sit at that location. Nice idea tho.

      Hi. Yes it's a crappy job, but you did it.
      The float is an issue . You can put the old one back or adjust the pointer on the fuel gauge. Keep the ignition on when doing it.
      I will cover it in a video.

      @@solveitautomotive9485 Mine is weird... Shows full even tho the tank is about ½ ... then its a quick drop to about a ¼ tank on the gauge and by then the tank is actually close to empty. I fill up every 500km just to be safe. 😄

      Hi . 100 % correct . The episode will be released in two weeks. The Bosch pump and housing does not have this problem as the float and arm has the same position as the original one .

    Would the smell stop if I replace my idling and throttle sensors

    • @solveitautomotive9485
      @solveitautomotive9485  Před 3 měsíci

      It would be better to do a close inspection of the entire fuel system and see if there are any leaks especially if you can smell the petrol from inside the cabin or while you are driving.
      Replacing the sensors are likely not going to solve your problem.

    With what did you seal the leakage on the plastic top cover?

      It can be many things , it's difficult to diagnose, it's best to take it to a mechanic.

      You should recheck your installation. Loose pipe or leak. Make sure you have the right pump in there . Also check plugs
