I haven't been to hwheeler in a while. This looks like a good climb!
Hey Jim , Thanks for stopping by... Yeah it has a few ledge ups that made it tricky for me. Nothing you and that Honda can't handle I'm sure. :)
80% rider, 20% bike.
Ha ha, I was holding the edge of my desk and pulling forwards on the climbs, good times...
I liked. It was entertaining. OK- so (2) displaced NYers at Coal Creek where it was 30 degrees colder than Las Vegas- at 90? WOW!. Here in PA if we get 90 we hardly want to go riding...to HOT! Looks beautiful where you were. :-)
Thanks for watching and the comment... I'll take hot over cold riding any day :) Never rode PA.. maybe one day.
I was just there on July 4th, 2020 with my 2004 KDX 200. GOOD VID👍👍👍
Sweet.. Glad to see another KDX climbing that monster. Hope you enjoyed the ride.
Legendary KDX. I always thought they were only over here on the east coast in the tight woods.
Tight woods is where it shines for sure. But its served me great in the desert here for years now. Ride on man.
Damn, was staying in Henderson over Christmas 2017. Had the chance to borrow a bike while I was over there but never got sorted. Kicking myself now.
There is many great places in this area to ride. If your ever back here with a bike let me know. I''l always up for a ride.
There is a drz 400 in cebu I been trying to get.. somebody left it 5 years ago. Its been in storage ever since. We ride dumont alot!!!
Thanks Man..DRZ is a great bike ... I love Cebu.. been there a few times. Never been off roading there.. I'm sure its nice.
Give it some more herbs and you'll get to the top first time.
Always look well ahead and keep your weight towards the back, the front will skip over the rocks and small ledges. Commit to your path and be a bit more aggressive on those bits.
Choice video though and a very nice spot.
Thanks.
The DRZ 400 is a great bike...I struggled between the DR650 and the DRZ400 for what I would take south...I think either bike would work great!
I know the feeling... Lighter is always better when your in a remote place by yourself. But I think we made the right choice :) The DR is worlds better on road.. And can do mostly everything the drz can off road... just slower usually :) Have you seen many people adventuring the DRZ in your travels?
Yeah, I've seen a lot of people on the DRZ...but I was coming from a R1200GS and 800GSA so thats what a big bike is to me, making the DR650 seem like a childs toy. People often ride up on the DRZ and mention to me that the DR650 is a "big bike"...lol, its all about your past experience I guess...prob a good chance they havnt ridden the Baja peninsula on a 1200GS like me, LOL!
Yeah I watched your COBDR you did on the GS.. You muscled that thing around well.. I hear the deep sand in baja can be a handful,, Haven't been there yet..If I get all my parts on in time.. I'll take the DR on the COBDR in august.. I did the IDBDR last year on my 690.. editing video of it now...haha.. Butler maps does a great job planning these routes in the U.S.
I love Butler Maps!! I think the UTBDR (specifically the Lockhart Basin) solo on the GS may have been a stupid idea...czcams.com/video/VrjrjWNaugA/video.html....but the COBDR is a pleasure to ride. Amazing campsites with water close by is so common...the route is cake, but its gonna give you whiplash with all the AMAZING vistas! Love the COBDR...Colorado is simply amazing, ur gonna love it.
U can't compare a street bike and dirt bike though, DRZ400 with a jetted carb and full exhaust will absolutely be an offroad weapon. Could even change the gearing if need more top speed. 650 is cool more long trips and more highway use but a 650 is more bottom end power and prob slower in the top end. It's not like a gsxr 1000 vs a Hayabusa bigger isn't always better It's about what you're doing with it. 400 more versatile and more aftermarket upgrades I would assume
You can change a jet on that bike half way up pretty easy. Seems like you had enough power.
Oh hell. The record button.lol
I'd like to get a smart carb or electron for it.. But i hear it can be a tight fit.. It runs mint until i get about 7k above sea level.
@@MrThenry1988 I looked into running one.. Its next to impossible to fit one in a KDX.. Without having to do some major modification.
Why doesn’t your KDX have headlight and tail light?
Was missing headlight when i bought it... Tail light is there.. just not hooked up.. but thats coming off soon also :)
awsome video great channel +1. soo cool i make videos like this 2 ;)
I use have both of these bikes had a bull on them how im a bit older i have a Ducati 1200 multistrada.
Haha nice I finally saw someone wearing paintball pants while riding!
I had no idea what you were talking about.. He didn't know he's wearing paintball pants either...haha... we goggled the name on them.
Z Shark Nice haha Dye has been a top of the line Paintball company since it began 20+- years ago. I think those pants were the Dye c4 or c5 model could be wrong. But they are so similar to motocross pants and actually some of them have built in knee padding. Great riding tho, the terrain would be a nice change from what we have here in Toronto!
How many miles can you get on the Kdx ?
@@LuckyNikitaBoba You need to jet for your elevation where you live. Dynojet has a free chart to look up a good baseline of what you need.. good luck.
I COULD HAVE GOTTEN UP THAT HILL WITH BASICALLY ANY THING. LIKE MY OLD HONDA XR100R. JUST RIDE AND PADDLE WITH YOUR FEET LOL.
Atomic punk.
Nice vid! The running water is niceee. Bike sounded a bit rich, or is that me?
baruin2 hey Bud... thanks..yeah good ear. I have since changed the clip one position. But the Elevation is pretty high up there where we were riding. It’s perfect at 1500 to 3500ft now.
Stand up and send it
What the kdx needs is a better rider!
Guys that are used to chugging up hills on 4 strokes need some adjustment time. Those smokers like to work.
Apples and oranges
Stop riding that thing like a damn 4 stroke! You know what powerband is right?! Sure.... You
"forgot to hit the record button".
2 stroke is harder to ride, 4 stroke can ride anyone, 2 stroke no way.
And you have no clue what your talking about. Learn how an engien works and you will understand. 2 strokes are better hill climbers anyday
Stay on the pipe. If it's not wheeling it's not steep enough- I've had. 8 kdxs- no problems on any hills or terrain. For 18 years
Kenneth Krajewski it’s all about the rider, the bike has it covered
@@deborahchesser7375 this we know but the kdx power always helps
