- A timelapse of the Arc de Triomphe, Paris of the traffic and roundabout. A taxi hits a motorcycle in the horrific roundabout, can you spot it?
Then police turn up to help direct the traffic onto and off the roundabout.
Hope you enjoy.

Driving in this thing outside of rush hours (it flows much more) is unironically one of the funniest driving experiences I've ever had. That sense of absolute freedom on this huge donut without laws is priceless
Lies again? Crazy Horse Gamble Bet
I do confirm. This is a really fun: ultimate driving freedom and piloting.
This was both satisfying and anxiety inducing...
There was no satisfaction, there is only anxiety and an endless stream of "what the hell is wrong with you people!!?!?!?"
Its the house music
I stalled my stick-shift rental car in there once. Learnt some French words I didn't know existed that day.
Better man than me. I wouldve walked far away and just called someone 😂
I am very happy to hear that Paris is working toward becoming more pedestian- and bicycle-friendly.
It is making driving in Paris even harder than it has always been.
Been here many times and it’s absolutely amazing! I’ve never seen a wreck but I’m sure they must happen. When you’re in it yourself, it’s quite the experience.
Not a wreck, but it looks like there was a small "accident" at 0:36 right in the center bottom with a motorcyclist
I found this so satisfying the way the cars just flowed out
Emily Jayne That's the idea. It was hard to film it with each junction and buildings and roundabout. But it came out well.
Same! But imagining driving there!
Same !!
Bottom of screen at 0:38
Collision
Good catch
And 20 seconds later everybody was moving on again.
At 1:38, the traffic cop pulls up on a scooter which he leaves in the median in the center, by the first crosswalk. He then walks down into the chaos and moves around to different places. He's wearing a white helmet; after you see it, you can track him.
Saw that too! I think he was attempting to direct traffic on when they should wait or go.
I saw that too and when he stepped in it was like magic the way traffic started flowing faster
Whoaw !
Who is this guy ? He is making the trafic ! Even if I'm french I think it's dangerous and at the same time awesome.
Looks like Cities Skylines traffic!
I was thinking same lol
LOL
No there would be rules and lines in city skylines
There are few pedestrians, but the sidewalk is super huge.
For car drivers, traffic jam is the daily routine.
Me: watching this video
Also Me: Imagining how I would fix this in CITIES SKYLINES
These streets were created a great many years before cars existed. For pedestrians and horsedrawn vehicles that all moved slowly, there wouldn't have been any problems. This, however, is horrific.
A set of traffic lights would fix that chaos!
Just imagine the anxiety of a driver who has never been to that area and is unsure of where he wants to go! Look for signage? Ya, right!
Funnily that was barely better with horses, there where almost as many of them as cars and they would take huge spaces... they were also shiting everywhere and the noise on the cobblestones was a nightmare, cars were actually a relief!
Traffic lights there would slow down the traffic in a horrible way
💀
Clearly you haven’t been to India then.
And in this video you are seeing a 4th of the total size of this roundabout. There are 12 streets leading to this horrible place
Hi, I am asking your permission to use this video as an intro to my compilations. I will credit you for sure in the description of my videos. Thanks in advance.
You can yes. However, it does need a link in the description and a small corner credit on screen saying 'Action Go'
@@ActionGoVideos I will add the link in the description for sure but is it ok if I don't add the on screen credit on it? because it's only 10 seconds into.
Yep ok. But if its intro. My link should be the top link
@@ActionGoVideos You got it, no problem. Thx
Enter at your own risk! Autonomous cars will never go there!
I lived for a few years in Paris, it isn't horrific at all. Everyone pays attention, you just thread your way through it. I am more scared these days on a British motorway !
'Everyone pays attention, you just thread your way through it.'
Some comprehensible rules or perhaps marked lanes may help though.
Drove over it last week as a tourist. Isn't all that bad. Traffic from the right has priority, as long as you remember that and take it slow you are good :)
the way it works is so interesting. It looks like the cars would not be able to move once they start criss-crossing each other in the middle and stopping, but everything ends up flowing out relatively quickly. Guess the drivers are used to it.
It's really impressive when you're in it, I take it all the time in a bus and the view from above at the front of the bus is scary. I still don't understand how there isn't more people dying. At night when the traffic hits it's just mayhem.
Seems to work efficient. But looks crazy.
And this is just Foch, Grande Armée and Carnot, there are nine more street entrances
Correct! When filming we decided on these streets as they had highest levels of traffic entering.
You have to ask specifically for insurance on the Arc de Triomphe.
Similar to Bangkok or Jakarta, except 90% scooters there. Not quite so chaotic or dangerous at actual speed, indeed round-abouts are quite efficient. The backups come from traffic lights on the exiting lanes.
The red lights so close to the roundabout on all exiting lanes really kills the flow.
Actually it is those traffic lights that promotes the flow of traffic: here the cars entering have the right of way, so those lights near the roundabout permits the cars inside the roundabout to continue without stopping for those entering, otherwise it would be deadlocked
And most of these cars have manual gearbox.
Gotta say, it's sad to see how little color there is in cars these days.
dang it.... you are right.... and I dont like it.... ;) Lets start painting some ^.^'
@@Arnold1987 if only or werent so pricey to get it done right...
If this was taking during the middle of a weekday, most of the vehicles are probably work vehicles. "Plain white van with decals" is a very standard work vehicle. Also, black seems to be a common taxi cab color in Europe and this is a tourist area which explains the large number of black sedans.
@@joshualuigi220 Exactly ! You're 100% right. There are lots of colored and crazy artistic looking cars in Paris, just not during work hours.
There's no traffic lights? What do they use, then? Courtesy?
Unreal 😁
Mesmerizing! I enjoyed watching this.
Also, it's far better/quicker. with a roundabout than with red light stops
Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it. Just seems crazy to watch, so I filmed it
Don't forget to share.
The song is Adventures - A Himitsu
Reminds me of the days I was a sperm.
This looks really inefficient.
It looks french
It's actually the most efficient way to deal with that amount of traffic
@@luckyluke5638 I think the city planning was more focused on esthetics and symmetry than efficiency.
@@TheBorkka Considering the mess of medieval streets Paris was before the 19th century no, city planning wasn't focused on aethestics and symmetry.
Paris wasn't built for tourists. The great Paris boulevards were built under Napoléon III mainly to facilitate traffic and for defense purposes (easier to move troops, better long distance visibility, safer to engage an enemy on a wide battlefield, and harder for the enemy to hide).
The roundabout itself is very efficient at moving traffic given the conditions.

This is not a roundabout. Yes it is round, but it is an intersection. In a roundabout you have priority once you are in it. In this intersection of hell, if you enter you are doomed!!
Many roundabouts in the us follow the same take your life into your own hands approach to entering one. Revere, MA has some of the worst. What this Roundabout needs (in addition to drivers following the rules) are smaller roundabouts that go the opposite direction on the intersections. Seems crazy, but they work wonders for reducing traffic on the main circle.
In Bucharest we also have a small Arc de Triomphe. We also have this amount of trafic, maybe higher. We also have a roundabout similar to this one. But the trafic flow is very good because there is some differences. We don't have normal roundabout rules, we have priorities based on the street with the most trafic and also traffic lights.
You can watch it here:
czcams.com/video/51k7kEaS5GI/video.html
Exactly, this should have been controlled by trafic lights instead of a roundabout.
Ikut gabung disini..salam kenal dari indonesia
This is actually traffic of Delhi 2.0 version
Very fun to watch
Amazing city. Will these buildings withstand the apocalypse.
Mdrrrrrr mais les mecs font un constat sur la place à 00:50 !
Ça a l'air d'être un contrôle de police par des motards non ?
@@timotheduermael7365 ça paraît un peu ghetto quand même en plein milieu de la route haha
Finding the motorcyclist that got hit is like Where's Waldo the fucked up edition
0:36 naughty Ami skips the queue by driving on the wrong side of the road...
I have crossed this roundabout on foot. Didn't know there was an underground passage at that time 🙄
Aktifitas kendaraan kota yg padat namun terlihat begitu indah..
What song is this? I don't see any credit in the description =P
Fck me I thought we had chaotic traffic in England. This is on a different level.
people say they've never seen an accident here. 0:37 at the bottom of the screen, the car hit the wheel of a motorcycle
It is actually a known fact that most french insurance companies, when covering an accident on this specific roundabout don't even try to look for whoever's fault it is, as being there in the first place is already considered a reasonable cause for accident. It's like asking a boxer why he broke his nose. Not relevant.
when you didn't hear about the TM:PE mod yet
Hi! It is possible, if I credit you, to use this vidéo for a report on my youtube channel ?
What do you mean by a report?
@@ActionGoVideos A report on electric cars for this channel : czcams.com/video/zgpont2LXh0/video.html
Yes sure!
I live in the states. This video would end in a crash at :02
They need pedestrian bridges. Get rid of the crosswalks, traffic will flow.
Its paris if they do the pedestrian bridge its will become Shanghai
We dont want that
There are underground pedestrian corridors to go tithe center of the roundabout and that's all
Or perhaps take space from cars and make it into sidewalks, bike paths, bus lanes... If it's more inconvenient to drive, less people drive.
Who opened my cities skylines game?
Why are there no lanes or lights at such a busy junction? Looks more like a street in india than france. Do they seriously refuse to alter the aesthetics because of the monument? If so direct traffic away as much as possible.
If all those cross walks were underground passages the circle would be moving fluidly. The pedestrians are causing the grid lock.
Some of them are
Cars cause gridlock, the issue with motorway traffic never has been and never will be the people NOT in a vehicle 😂
Is there any pedestrian crossings here?
talk about an organism... it's crazy how complex we are
what if you miss your exit and haft to go around again
Uhh, I think I’ll just take le métro!
Thanks to everyone for the support, we have hit 200K views!
If a car appears from right bottom corner, I cannot tell where it is going.
0:38
Yep, at the bottom
What is it?
monique monet am accident
When i was in paris i had no idea how to get across so my dumbass sprinted across the roundabout 😂
This is not a timelapse. It's a normal video that's been accelerated in post.
The video was recorded at 30 frames per second. So it's a time-lapse just with a really high frequency
Videospeed:2x&1,5x&0,5x=best sound
Take a shot every time you see a black or white colored car.
Black, grey and white cars are the cheapest here, if you wants a now color cars you need to buy it as an option and it's quite expensive so they are rare
What is the music called?
parisians actually drive amazingly well, they're just brutal
If you are in Paris, get out.
I crossed it on foot in daylight from the Champs Elysee to the arch.
What I don't get is why the cars exiting the roundabout have to give way to those entering
because this isnt a modern style roundabout at all. It’s basically a giant circle controlled by lights
Wahnsinn!
+1
what a wow
As a Bangladesh
guy crashes into the bike at 0:40 and they start arguing 😁
This looks like Ho Chin Minh city but with cars instead of motorcycles.
Omg le rond point dla mort
Me: hi dr, can I have another script for Valium.
It's not a roundabout but a road junction of twelves avenues, each have traffic lights.
Why don’t they put markings on it??
Because there are NO lanes!
Because nobody would bother going up the Arc de Triumph if you couldn't watch the cars trying to navigate that roundabout from hell.
Omg so dangerous to drive
Not really, everyone is driving really slowly bc it's always so busy and messy, so worst case scenario you scrape your car a little. there's never serious collisions because you can't speed up.
En ese sentido acá en LATAM estamos más avanzados
What the hell
This is... evil
Que puto desastre de cruce por dios
Madness :/
This is true. This is real. Do NOT attempt to drive here!
That’s like in India.
I live in Paris and pass through this often on my Vespa 🛵 It is INSANE (controlled) CHAOS - when it's empty it's great, when it's packed rush hour you barely move, but when it's medium traffic that feels the worst because people just FLY out of everywhere!
Traffic light??
No efficient here
It’s like a gathering of cockroaches eerie and beautiful and lynchian
The cross walks are causing much more air pollution from the waiting vehicles. This could be so easily and safely remedied.
To me we look like sheep
I'm Canadian and I have no idea what the French traffic rule is for roundabout. Do cars in the roundabout have to yield for cars on the right?
This isn't a true roundabout as people on the roundabout are giving way to people coming onto it.
I suspect there are no rules, and even if there are, they're ignored.
@@hebneh Oh yes there are rules... just the usual ones applied everywhere in France and the rest of the world in general : following the priority of others drivers by tour right... if it wasn’t the case, it would be a permanent cars crash here. Parisians know pretty well how to navigate in their city.
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Only the French could cause such disorganised chaos
The irony is, their main base for promotion for the roof of the Arc de Triumph is to see how organised the city is (because all the roads lead to it or something).
They probably have never heard of a turbo roundabout. They can make this super efficient by adding 4 - 6 car lains. This is so stupid to see.
There are 12 roads that culminate on this one traffic circle... A turbo roundabout will not work and cause a massive gridlock.
France is the land of roundabout, they own more than half of our planet's roundabout, I'm pretty sure they know about lains.
who had the brainwave that entering traffic has priority over traffic already on the roundabout? trust the french to use a roundabout to increase traffic jams…
Yeah, that is wild :D
Why are there no painted lanes? People are clearing trying to use lanes so just paint them?...even the roads coming off the roundabout arent painted and people are clearly using lanes, so just paint the damn things? The Arcul de Triumf in Romania has lanes at least to guide people in and out and where to stop.
Why is it so tragically shit? Can't they redesign it?
No wonder France is in the decline.
Actually, it's rising.
