The price isn't even the main issue. The main issue is I don't want to have to play a game I don't want to play, in order to unlock content in a game that I already play that takes up so much time begin with. BSG are honestly losing their minds over there lately.
BSG simply needs to rebrand Arena and take Tarkov out of the name. Make it f2p with microtransactions and it'll make them gazillions from whales

dont play it then, its a game, i like the arena part coz i rarely get to play and its hard to even unlock the flea with my hours, this way i can get it far easier which makes it very attractive
@@customcutters My dude. It's 161k XP to reach lvl 15. You can farm scavs on factory night starting as a lvl 1, it's 12-14mins for 6k xp on average - requires a shotgun with flashlight and standing around corner of underground ramp to med part - as long as you are the only one pmc scavs come in one by one all the time and you just bop them in face from 2metres. So let's say you aren't very good and will only get 5k per run - it's still around 35 raids so 6 hours with loading times. 4k - 40 raids etc. I bet you play the game more than that.

If they just made it so we could customize loadouts, play on bigger maps, and have some unique gamemodes then I think that would help it a lot.

BSG planned to develop Arena Similar to Tarkov, there are still updates and plans coming out but
Arena would have been a good testbed for seeing what could work in terms monetization for the main game but they really like throwing away opportunities and sitting tight on bad takes.

I swear Arena had such potential...or at least a more casual, roundbased version of Tarkov in single teams or even bigger Teams would be so dope if the gamemodes would just be more interesting...

Tarkov has gone trough some prime enshittification.
This situation reminds me of the BMW situation where they are making a model with all the trim levels and then having people pay a subscription to unlock features that are in the car when you bought it. Say heated seats are installed but you can't access them until you pay the sub. But those heated seats are in the car you bought. They say it's easier on them to only make one car with everything included. Those features aren't weightless, so there has to be some performance draw back/mileage hit with all that extra stuff in the car.
on top of the keys only being able to get from arena, the rooms that they open are FIRE and have kitted ass guns and high value loot

I've been playing Arenas a bit recently and the "Tarkov gunplay" part is fun but my fucking god did they fumble the bag so hard in every single other aspect. IDK why we are still stuck with this forsaken preset system and some cursed SnD mode as the main mode (no TDM, or Domination-esque modes at all, just FFA). Such a let down but I'm not sure what I expected.

Arena should be linked to EFT but from the start i've said arena shouldn't have been a separate game. But just as an option next to the other maps
It needs to have a button like PvE/PvP switching at least. No one wants to close Tarkov to launch Arena.
I was thinking about the same thing. The concept of having to buy DLC (in this case a seperate game) to acces something in the base game is not a new concept. Been like that for ages. The problem is that its a seperate game instead of just DLC in the game you already have.

The merge and crossover of these two games as well as the launch bundle and prices need to be so so so perfectly planned at 1.0. Although the player base that’s been with them for the last six years is already fked.
The insane thing is, that u can lvl so easly till 15 in arena + get yourself daily a million roubles in eft... thats what blows my mind.
I love Arena but it taking me 10 mi to find the match and all the games I play against same people they have to fix it
There is no fixing that. No one else wants to play Arena so you are stuck with the other 9 people you keep seeing.

In all honesty, that is literally the definition of DLC. Arena can be considered an expansion of EFT as most games get paid DLC. What I do not agree with is that EFT EOD was supposed to include everything which includes all DLC. That is the only downside. I am now specifically referring to the unheard edition containing P2W aspects. EOD was supposed to be the best and biggest part of tarkov but if you dont have EOD, paying for Arena is not a train smash IMO.
I am a limited edition buyer of eft and I like using Arena to practice with guns I don't normally use, and also try mechanics out, with movement and tactics I am afraid to try in the actual game. My Pvp is actually seeing improvement in Tarkov. I agree it should not be a stand alone game with an added cost.100% agree with your take, make it free, monetize skins and such, get players to actually buy the main game. If you have the main game and are good at it there is no reason to play arenas. I am saying I am bad at the main game, aim and mechanics wise, so I only play some to get better with no downside.
Game devs are for sure scum bags who just want to kill their own game, in the pursuit for money. They could have achieved their money goals without being such, for lack of a better term, bitches. Still playing the game though, nothing compares to Tarkov in my life of fps gaming.
they should have, instead of making a new game, add an option on the main deployment screen to go into an Arena mode. You don't lose your gear, you can't be looted, and it puts you on the map you select with PvPvE map with triple the players in the map. THAT would have been fun.

the Arena keys are insanely overpowered, like hundreds of rounds of actual highest tier ammo in the game, multiple class 6 armors and multiple fully kitted weapons, multiple level 6 plates, bitcoin or ledx, EVERYTHING i just listed is possible to get in ONE SINGLE OPENING
I like the survival aspect of Tarkov and wish they'd lean more into that. But everything they do seems to move away from that and into a more casual shooter where finding gear in-game means less and less.
Been saying this from day one, arena took all the worst parts of tarkov and highlighted them: bad net code, unbalanced sandbox, clunky mechanics.
Then took away all the great parts: big detailed maps, weapon customization, looting, and slow tactical gun fights
Let's be honest, Arena's player base was mostly F2P becsuse the majority of Tarkov players were EOD and now Unheard so they received it anyways. It is and was RARE seeing a white name.

They need to create a way to be able to play with your gear you get from EFT.
For example, more competence motorsports have “open” classes , or mod unlimited classes. We could do their whole prestige thing, but give us an ability to use that loot in true fire fights, and lose it. Make it cost money and time to transfer it..
Or make battle royal style, with load outs.. idk
Everyone is pointing out all these issues but missing one thing. It still gets supported! People will buy arena purely for this content! That’s the main issue… why are people allowing BSG to act this way? Any other company to do this has been ripped apart by fans, boycotted and put in a spotlight by gaming media. Yet BSG do another dodgy decision and it’s just “oh that’s just BSG”. I don’t understand why they don’t get held accountable
They need to add daily's for Red in regular tarkov. There should be some way for non-arena players to obtain the new keys.
If BSG made a mode, my simple pitch would be "Mil-Sim" think of how airsoft is, mil sim style airsoft, but using tarkovs in built immersive sfx, and tactical mechanics and customizing those kits man, building kits and taking it out to the battlefield in this immersive mil sim style game, make balanced sized maps lets say 20 to 25 vs the same amount each side, and make those outdoor airsoft style maps, that to me woulda worked wonders, free to play, cosmetic only microtransactions, i think that woulda done great, not competitive focused just mil sim style gameplay, what tarkov would do theoretically the best and most immersively.
The obvious problem for BS is they need cash flow to keep the company going. Most mmorpg are a monthly fee type game. As much as I love a one time fee game, when it’s in development for like a decade at some point your income drops off and you still have bills to pay
Yeah, except when you are greedy and give yourself a $10 million a year salary.. Sometimes the companies do it to themselves because they see the $ and can't wait for the long investment gains so they spend everything before they realize they need the money for upkeep.
If the main reason to play a worse game is just to get rewards in the better game, then it's already over. Playing the game needs to be its own reward
I actually enjoy playing arena but it doesn’t provide you anything worthwhile for eft you’re not missing out if you don’t own arena.. I’ve been using it to get better at PvP and it’s helped me out a lot
People will play a game for 1000+ hours but will complain about spending $40-$70.. but will go to s movie theater spend close to the same amount for 2 hours of entertainment. Or literally anything else would cost thousands if you compared play time.

They mentioned mod support after full release. I guarantee there's mods to skip all the bullshit and get every key, ammo type, max every trader, etc. DAY 1. BSG had such a good thing runnin, they just had to not sink the boat

Arena should have been accessible from map selection of EFT. Arena should have been F2P. Demo the gunplay to casuals, and playing it unlocks things in main game

I need to start popping into your streams only thing is I work a lot so I always miss them but I always watch ur videos but I play arena and tarkov every night almost and I love arena right now I think it’s pretty good alot of ppl I talk to in the tarkov disc say they hate arena but they haven’t played it since the first wipe of arena I think it’s alot better now and I can’t wait to see what they do with the next wipe preset fixes and what not there’s a few classes that need a nerf cobra being the main one with sp-6 two tapping lvl 5 armor but other than that the same goes for tarkov the top 50 and up on leader board most of those ppl are boosted by cheaters and play ever night with a stack of cheaters or atleast a few on they’re team and running into them as a casual for fun player just enjoying the gun play it’s when they’re B - A+ rank cheaters just kinda not fun to que against that as C - C+ and as far as the hole thing with the rewards from playing arena that u can only get from arena i get where ur coming from but it’s kinda like EOD back in the day u have to pay money to start out with extra slots in ur stack more gear to start with better ammo to start with and that’s every wipe so idk the base game is ab 50 bucks and EOD if I remember correctly was like 120 or 130 so idk truthfully I like this whole level thing bc I like to play tarkov to try weapon builds and stuff so questing isn’t a massive thing for me and I def still see my self in the future playing more arena than base tarky
Its like BSG is trying to do what MMO's and older Battlefield games did with expansions. The only difference is the expansions for games like WoW and other MMO's are massive content drops with hundreds of hours gameplay. For Tark its a single game mode. Its embarrassing.
It's was hard to see arena as a DLC... but now all the integration with Tarkov it sure gonna act like one. So it's like you don't need to act a different game to access locked doors you already paid for, you but the DLC for it. Maybe Arena will be integrated into the main game, and you can just hop into it within game, since it's running on the same engine.

In the context of a video game that isn't even fully released yet, that is a lot of money. Context matters heavily. $250 is a week of groceries, so yeah in that context it doesn't sound like a lot but for a video game beta that is an extreme asking amount.
Those rooms are the ONLY spawns in the entire game other than rarely Kiba for level six plates. Not to mention they are spawns for things that do not have actual regular/semi-consistent spawns/spawnchances such as boxes of good ammo that can't be sold on flea and regularly what are the best attachments in the entire game. Best foregrips and muzzle devices. As well as rare loot spawns out the wazoo.
Having to pay for and then PLAY and GRIND an entire other game that you may not even like in the first place for access to a ROOM in the BASE GAME is not okay by any means. Especially not when it's that good. Imagine if all marked rooms and relaxation room, kiba, ULTRA medical, etc. (which are all objectively worse than these new hideout rooms) were all locked behind an entirely different game that you had to buy and then grind to even get the keys for in ANOTHER game?

i don't like the whole concept of tarkov taking so long to progress and then wanting you to also play another one of their games to progress even further in the game you already have to play a lot.
Arena is a fun game. But I dont want it to have any attachment to the main EFT game.
Preach Tony love it or hate it - but there is content that PVE players cant access. I play both PVE and Tarkov Arena - but there is no way of bringing those keys from my Arena progress to my PVE account.
I personally don't think it's much scammy, but it's just horrible planning. It's like they mismanaged both games horrendously and not even sure if they themselves still realise half the bs they do. Cause clearly they gave PvE to everyone when everyone complained and made arena free for eod when everyone complained, but all the connecting arena, new trader, unheard with some extra perks, all of that was real dumb. Prob cultist jacket for $5 would make them more money than what non EOD ppl paid for arena
As an EOD owner I knew it from the beginning the the connection is only to make them more money. Arena is done so bad it's just a BSG money crab once again.
Tarkov should have really done the COD template.....Main Game is 70$ or whatever it is, and warzone is free....They don't really overlap, and being good at one doesn't effect the other. Its not like there's a killstreak in WZ that you can get and transfer to the main multiplayer and whatever. Having to buy a game to get a key for a different game is ridiculous.

the only problem with tonys logic here is that BSG actually classified arena as DLC, thats why EOD got it for free. so it would make sense standard would have to pay for it, since DLC isnt included with standard accounts.
That would makes sense if the game already costs way more than mainstream games for no reason

I enjoy arena as a warmup for Escape and to goof around with kits I cant build in Escape. I like that I can earn money in Arena and transfer it to Escape, since Escape you lose money if you play for pvp, for the new trader I dont care because I have no intention of grinding out quests ever again for garbage greedy devs.
They wanna charge for Unheard, now charge for Arena lmao… BSG must think y’all are clowns

The best thing about Tarkov is looting. The excitement when finding good loot or nervous while looting a sweat dude is something Arena doesn't have and can't have, and it bored me

If they utilised existing tarkov economy systems and instead of making a deathmatch esport game noone gives a shit about made a counterstrike/valorant esque game with buing guns and atachment depending on how last round went and having it be atack defend, or anything less boring than deathmatch with a controll pointvin the middle in case someone camps
