Thank you to the people of Belfast and particularly to the Translink Metro passengers who made this film possible and Belfast the spectacular city it is. www.translink.co.uk/ #letsgotogether
Translink is - getting home from a night out. even though most services cease around midnight and you have absolutely no chance of a bus home at 1am. Is this... false advertisement?
In my experiences. Its about 60/40 ratio. 60% are okay and do respond but the remaining 40% of the Belfast Metro drivers are clearly in the wrong job unless they do not understand English, so I just assume that they don't speak English. Still I do think that Abellio is a lot worst than Metro and I hope that Abellio will NEVER come to Northern Ireland let alone Belfast. I guess I am lucky because the drivers that work the Foyle Metro where I live are usually pleasant and do speak. Just report the rude ones mate and don't take it ;).
@@BritishRail60062 Majority of the ones I have encountered, and I use metro 3-4 days a week, are all locals to the area and are native. I was once stopped from getting on a bus for paying with a £10 note for a day pass which was £3, the driver looked me up and down for a good 10-15 seconds with the most evil of looks, for the simple fact that I was wearing a GAA Top which is not rare sight nowadays around Belfast and responded going 'Do you honestly think I have change of a tenner' in the most cheekiest manner ever, she then told me to run in to the shop to get change and said she should still be there when I get out, as soon as I walked away to run in to the shop she closed the doors and drove off. Phoned Translink and filed a complaint and they said I should hear back within a week of what the outcome was, that was September and I have yet to hear feedback.
@@xGeneticzz97 That's a shame to hear although to be honest. It depends on what time of the day that driver started her shift but could have said that she didn't have enough change for £10 and could have advised you to catch the next bus. As from my understanding, drivers do not carry much change on them for safety reasons. From where I used to live before I moved to Northern Ireland in 2017. The buses in my area never gave change and all money went into a spout thing. Its been automatic for me to get the exact fare for the bus and its stuck with me since. I did feel silly though when I used the bus in Belfast for the first time because when I bought my bus ticket. I asked the driver where the spout was for me to put the money into. I had no idea at the time that the buses in Northern Ireland gave change because ones in Edinburgh that are operated by Lothian do not and First Glasgow is the same. In regards to the complaint you made. Its best to chase them up if you don't hear anything after a week mate. Its not acceptable for the company to ignore the customer and for some insolent staff to be allowed to treat the public in this manner. Taking the bus reg number down and the time of the incident also helps.
@@idioticpretzel2895 I can second that. Went there last month and the people there are lovely. Same here in Londonderry where I live. Most of the drivers on the Foyle Metro are nice and pleasant as well.
Translink = Government funded, privately run monopoly with no future vision, some absolutely dreadful customer-facing staff who would be sacked long ago in any other industry, 3rd world service and it's usually cheaper to drive. However, us Norn Iron folk are the best in the World so we just get on with it!
Some of these bus drivers that don't speak would fit well with Abellio London. No customer service required there ;). Although the civilised Metro drivers are absolutely great people and are true Northern Irish folk just like myself. I praise the good ones and I report the piggish ones that don't speak because there is no need for it really. To be fair to Translink, if no reports the rude drivers, how can Translink NI improve their service?
Translink metro is the only choice you have. Overpriced yet heavily subsidised and there's no competition so can keep providing a terrible operation with no customer service or accountability. This video makes me sick
bold of you to assume that I would ever enter shankill

They don't mention that half the staff are all rude and ignorant..
