&Just saw michael doing this song at bad tour..dancing all over the stage..sounding magnificent. No usher blame...his compositions are gigantic..and his unique singing..makes it impossible for others to cover them.
I think Usher did a fantastic job. He honored the King, but didn't imitate him. Everything from the smoke and green lasers, to MJ's former backing vocalists, to the orchestra and band were phenomenal. Job well done by all involved with the production of this performance.
Never! That Magic, that kind of Talent and Inspiration only comes once in a Lifetime! If there was no Michael Jackson there wouldn’t have been the music as we know it today! MJ was and will be the one and only King of Music, Videos and Live concerts! The epiphany of the word Entertainer! Give MJ the credit he is long due and let him RIP! Peace ✌🏽
+juan def You obviously are a big fan of Michael. I did not say Usher sings like Michael, I was expressing how much I liked his interpretation of this song. Whether I have poor quality hearing, not ears, is really none of your business. You actually have a poor sense of respect for people's opinion. But my apologies if I offended your allegiance to Michael with my comment. By the way, if you are such a fan of Michael, you should know that you are not alone, I am here with you and better start by looking at the man in the mirror. Peace.
i watched this video, and then watched micheal's old live performance of this song. the difference was huge. i watched usher calmly on my chair, but i ended up groovin like a boss while watching micheal. so NO. Not AS good
All i can say is that: before you think you're the biggest MJ fan... you're wrong! This guy up here is. Usher has become one of the best male-artist all because MJ inspired him! He dances like MJ, concert setup like MJ etc. Now which fan has done this before, and have been successful? Now I know no one can come close to the KING, but if somebody is Usher sure is doin a damn good job!
+NoahUploads True people say CB but his vocals and dancing aren't to MJ or even Usher. He dances really well, but it seems to be more awe inspiring and creative rather than smooth
JdLima6684 Every SINGLE male RnB singer of the last 40 years is just doing his own version of Michael Jackson. Every single one of them. They're all just trying their best to be Michael Jackson. They're ALL Michael Jackson imoressionists. Think of any RnB singer nowadays, and you'll see what I mean: Bisbee, Usher, Ormarion, Bruno, The Weeknd, Marques Houston, Sammy, YOU NAME IT. Every singoe one of them, no matter their age, they're just kids imitating Michael. Michael's legacy was THAT powerful.
I think this was a solid vocal effort and performance by Usher. He did him justice. Great tribute to the King of Pop!!!! People should also check out Jon B. cover to this song.....I think he also did MJ justice vocally.
When I watched his performance, it gave me chills. He does a great cover of this song and he's such a great entertainer. He did such an awesome performance.
Usher know he be jammin, wow he reminds me so much of MJ, both entertainers always puts on an amazing show for their audience, luv them both, go Usher, RIP MJ!!
Usher is no joke when it comes to covering other people's songs. I first heard him do Marvin Gaye's "Can I Get A Witness" when he played him on the sitcom "American Dreams" based on American Bandstand, and his versions of Luther Vandross' "Superstar", Stevie Wonder's "That Girl" and Marvin Gaye's "What's Going On"/"Mercy Mercy Me" as well as him out singing "Save The Children"/"Mercy Mercy Me" with Trombone Shorty for then-President Obama at the White House.
Usher is great.. and his doing great covers of other established artists songs is setting the stage for an even higher level of stardom.. Not a lot of younger artists can do great covers of others material. He's really paid his dues too, starting at a very young age.. He's come far and he's gonna go further..
My first song I adore for me from King of pop.. rip King of pop Michael Jackson 😔🙏. Great perform from Usher without no excess just great simple tribute. Congratulations to him and his music band. 😉👍😎🕺
Usher ... man, you're real good! You are the only one that can articulate that song as if you are Michael. More power to you. Per chance, you will come across this message, good job!
Michael used to bring a fresh innocence to his songs even if they were about "rocking all night". You truly believed he was singing about dancing. That's what made his appeal so universal.. He was never sleazy.
Hahahah until this comment i believed it was about dancing with her! That's how amazing, thoughtful, ckever, and subliminal writers were back then. I miss that
One of Usher's best vocal performances aside from him running out of air on two notes. They are difficult notes to hit and if you don't time your breathing correctly you will fall short. It can happen to the BEST of the BEST if proper technique is not used. Doesn't mean he can't hit them. He is an superb vocalist live, I've heard him with my own ears. For all these people talking about Usher's not a real singer....they don't ask people to do tributes to ICONS if they aren't real vocalist. You don't get asked to fill in for Luther at Essence festival or tribute Luther, MJ, Stevie Wonder, Whitney Houston, Marvin Gaye, Nick Ashford, Donny Hathaway, Ray Charles or James Brown if you're not a real vocalists! Yall need to actually watch his tributes. Especially Stevie Wonder "Do I Do". Just because a person can hit a certain note doesn't mean they are a better overall singer either. Some people can hit high notes but not low notes, some people have an awesome full voice but no falsetto. Some people can't sing out at all but still have great voices and can do so many awesome things. I am going to go youtube MJ singing this song live and see if it was perfect every time. Cut Ush some slack. MICHAEL HIMSELF thought that Usher was next up and well as JAMES BROWN so that's all the validation Usher needs. There will NEVER be another r&b/pop star that gains the respect and praises of ALL the ICONS and will have the impact that Usher has had. PERIOD. Some say it's Chris Brown but nah. Even before the whole Rihanna drama if you mirror the two's careers to the age Chris was and level of his career to that of Usher's at that age, he was 3 albums in, two grammys in, the biggest star (only people bigger were the legends like Janet,MJ,, and had MEGA hits under his belt like "You Make Me Wanna", "Nice and Slow", "U Don't Have To Call", "U Remind Me", and "U Got It Bad". I highly doubt that when Chris is 37 he is going to still be one of the top artists like Usher is. People need to give Usher his respect. He is one of the few artists from the 90s still relevant and receiving accolades over younger artists.
So true, he even got to dance with MJ and James Brown on stage who dubbed him 'the godson of soul'. Usher was selling 8M/7m worldwide with My Way and 8701 before Confessions. Chris's first two albums sold just a 2 Million, the rest did not even sell a million. Usher made two more albums after confession that sold 1.5 M each in the US, and 5 and 3 M worldwide in a generation that's loosing R&B. That's more sales than three of the latest Breezy albums combined. Hes also made the same number of #1 singles as Chris whole career since he joined the industry, and is tied with MJ at 13 #1's, and is one of the few to have them spanning into three different decades. Usher partly evolves with PoP and made around 3 good hits in that field. Chris cannot even keep up singing with his dancing, very overrated by a generation who consider 'Loyal' quality music. Usher is 2nd to MJ for sure.
+juan def You're looking at it through a vacuum. Usher's best song ever was Climax and that came out 8 years after Confessions came out. It's a shame he never went into the PBR&B path, which The Weeknd eventually turned into his own. I will say he's lost and definitely doesn't have the same impact anymore. He needs a hit single a fast, otherwise he will go the way of R. Kelly, Mariah Carey and Mary J. Blige a lot faster than they did. He still has some fuel left in him to produce a few more hits. Also Chris Brown, prior to hitting Rihanna was 19 years old. He had far more hits as a teenager and far more potential than Usher did because he had more influences to work off of. Even after the Rihanna incident, he could've changed his ways but he went the easier bad boy path and now has relegated himself to being successful on urban radio only. The industry won't allowed him to be the next MJ, and not even the next Usher. Instead, now they are looking at The Weeknd and saying, hey, this is our next MJ, our next R. Kelly, our next Usher. They are looking at Bruno Mars and saying, hey, this is our next Elvis, our next Prince, our next prince of pop. Usher simply slowed down as he got older. He didn't have the same hunger as the old icons once he hits his peak with Confessions and he doesn't have the same drive as someone like Beyonce who constantly wants to outdo themselves. No matter how good Usher's next record is, like Looking 4 Myself was, he will always fall short to Confessions. I believe his next record will likely be his last chance at a hit record with hit singles. The guy is 37 and we all know this is a young man's game if you are a vocalist.
I just checked out some covers by other artists. and michael's vocals is off the charts. you can the artists really stretching their vocals whereas michael made it seemed effortless
Yes ..like the 3:04 part .. Michael do it effortlessly in bad tours Michael is very special ..no one will ever be like michael forever but usher's performance is very great He's a true mj fan

This is the best rendition of Rock With You I have ever heard or seen on the internet since Michael Jackson sang this song. Excellent instrumentation. Closer to the original thing then anyone else has ever done. Awesome!
This performance shows me two things: 1. Usher is a fine performer and worthy of covering a MJ song. 2. Nobody can get even close to Michael.
LOOOOOOL!!!!
Well said, Eric👍
Eric! True

He did a great job. He's an underrated singer. People tend to think of him as only a dancer, what a pitty.
So true and I hate those idiots.
I saw as a singer and we were both 15 years old. I saw MJ in Usher in him then and always!❤❤
.
Iono I think we all know Usher can blow vocally...See usher is a singer who can dance while Breezy is a dancer who can sing if u catch my drift
Not underrated for me.
Michael really took Usher under his wing and not too many are asked to cover Michael's songs like Usher.
+Ashkey Gii So true they Know Usher can pull it off :-)
Ashkey Gii truee love it usher is one of the biggest MJ's fanboy..😍
Usher, we as diehard Michael Jackson fans, think you did a truly awesome job! Respect
He did such a great job. It brought tears to my eyes knowing how upset he was when Michael died. A beautiful rendition.
Michael would have loved Usher's performance. I loved they way they slowed it down and made it in to a very comfortable version.
-All I can say is that Usher: is a great singer..wow...great job..live singing..sweet..
victor josep jackson You aren't seriously disagreeing are you?
Elton Dorcas Amazing Singer
Great vocal, well done Usher!
Can't get tired of this vid. He totally took the song for him. What a live performance!
I can watch it over and over. It brings tears to my eyes.
Brilliant performance by Usher. I'm sure MJ would've been proud had he been there to see it.
Great performance and homage to Michael by Usher!
Glad they didn't try to computerize the song to death. This is how covers are supposed to be done!
I tried my hardest to contain myself watching this. His freaking voice, man.
Usher rules!!!!
Extremely talented man --- great voice
Only Usher can make this song sound as good as Michael.

Bruno Mars

Be Real TV bruh, saying you miss a guy doesn' make you gay
I like how u said no homo.in 2014
You really had to say "no homo". You just HAD to.
Woww! Woww Usher. The King would be proud for you
Usher is King of R&B paying Tribute to The King of Pop
My dad met Usher and worked for him one day, he actually tipped my dad $100 dollars!
Worked for Michael for what? :o
Let's hear the story!
@@ihtzLLxO He worked for Usher, not for Michael.
Usher know he be jammin, wow he reminds me so much of MJ, both entertainers always puts on an amazing show for their audience, luv them both, go Usher, RIP MJ!!

Not MJ but you done good Usher. This song is as close as it gets to a perfect pop vocal. Truly timeless.
