I don’t think it needs an overhaul, all it needs is a few more variants to keep things interesting. Alternate color schemes for important individuals, different arm attachments like the Chibnall Daleks, more of that sort of thing.

Agreed. I always thought that the Paradigm Daleks could've been an overarching antagonist group, with a couple at a time being encountered in their own story, driving the plot of that episode to further a plan that the Supreme Paradigm Dalek had in place to rebuild the Dalek Empire. The Red Drone and Blue Strategist encountered together on a planet, the yellow Eternal and orange Scientist on another, with the White Supreme being the one behind the scenes orchestrating the creation of the Dalek Parliament.
Something like that, to have a Strategist, a Drone, an Eternal, (whatever that would've been) and Scientist Dalek be at the head of their own contingent of Bronze Soldier Daleks, I dunno if that sounds stupid, but I would've liked to see that if it was done right.

I’m always and forever a massive fan of the bronze design! I’ll also be accepting of design changes. But whatever they do, I need them to NOT do what they did with the bronze daleks, which is insert them into previous eras of the past when the Daleks had older styles of casings without clearly explaining why, like Prisoner of the Daleks, etc. It’s pretty easy to put together that the bronze casing was scattered into the past by the time war and the past Daleks retrofitted it, but. If there’s going to be a new design, the Doctor should still be encountering the occasional bronze Daleks when they travel back in time to an era in Dalek history when they used the bronze casings. I don’t think my heart can handle a complete aesthetic timeline re-write😅

I think a new color scheme would be really nice, if not a totally new design. I loved the "Defense Drone" style Daleks, just because they were something new. I love the bronze Daleks, it was a bold choice and it's become absolutely iconic. But, as time goes on I think it's become a bit stale. The Daleks are overdue for a facelift. I think something based upon either the silver Daleks of the 60s or the gunmetal grey Daleks of the 70s and 80s would be nice. I also think there needs to be more variety. Dalek leaders are usually distinct, but haven't been lately. It doesn't have to be as overt as the Paradigm Daleks, but a clear visual hierarchy would be nice. Black has always worked for leader Daleks, maybe that could return in some way.

I personally think that the daleks could do with an update with a few changes and even slight pallet change if not utilize parts of the community such as fam art for inspiration and to flush out or widen the dalek design, utilize several or more unique or specialized daleks like a dalek controller where it replaces the gun stick for a claw or plunder to have multiple access to different components or computers, or even things like non combat daleks like dalek engineers or dalek scientists, as well as say a anti personal dalek equipped with flamethrowers and one where it’s replaces the massive cannon for a massive chest mounted mini gun and so on, even making use of some of the more antiquated or older dalek models such as the skaro degradation such as the gliders or crawlers, whilst daleks are ruthless and fun to watch, they’ve lost their teeth so to speak, they’re just your typical bad guy with a scheme rather than say gun down a bunch of people or being individually smart and whilst they are pro dominantly a hive mind so creativity is surely lacking, but that doesn’t mean that individual daleks whilst emotionless can’t have say individual personalities as well as individual intelligence, and again it’s sad that we’re so use to the daleks what again they are fantastic and my personal favorites but again they’ve lost their ruthlessness streak as well as their character where outside of victory of the daleks and stolen earth are the two times oh and daleks in manhattan were the only times daleks were truly aw inspiring and utterly ruthless, parting of ways was good, but much like the daleks in manhattan they weren’t actual daleks so to speak but were a more intelligent form, plus I’d love to see them do more destruction on a planetary scale

Take a bronze Dalek. give it the eyestalk, vents, and midsection of a Paradigm Dalek (perhaps with some of that rough metal mesh you see on early Dalek inside the midsection cutaway), and then take the front right and front left panels of the base and replace them with two slats like what the Paradigm had on their back where alternate weapons and manipulators can be stowed, or include a smaller slat on the back of the midsection and take advantage of the Dalek being able to rotate it's midsection around to access different tools, the Swiss army Dalek.
Then give it silver paint job with blue details on the bumps but with a good eye light with the horizontal slit like the Paradigm did, a really sinister voice like the Time Strategist, and the personality of the 7th doctor at his most Machiavellian wile maintaining the arrogant hatred that is the core of all Dalek.
Better yet, have it deride the Time War survivors as degenerates, the New Dalek Empire as apocalypticists, and the New Paradigm as cowards. Have this new Dalek be a conqueror who wants to do more than just exterminate everything, but be the supreme form of life in the universe, and for that they need lessers to subjugate and torment

Absolutely needs to change. No more rivets. There is a way to make them look war-fit without making them too earthlike, and that would be a heavy emphasis on flat non-metallic gray-blue color schemes, possibly even matte finish, with a dome more reminiscent of the German WW2 stalhelm helmets, midsection being more refined without the 'box' shaped housings for the weaponry. Also really tired of the square housing for the eyestalk and the 'insignia' bit beneath that...
If anything, the cybermen need a downgrade. Should be more body horror with exposed fabrics and flesh. They're augmented humans with their emotions removed, so if they looked more crude and unsanitary, it would be nice.

As for the New Paradigm... metallic colours would have helped alleviate the "Plasticky" look. and a pearlescent white for the Supreme with Black chrome hemispheres would look really smart. That said:; I liked the design and colour choice of the Pseudo Dalek Security units.; but then again, I'm plain weird when it comes to colour schemes. Something significant is going to need to take place for a true Dalek redesign, and not just fiddling with their guns, plungers or making variations that are only going to be around for a bit before the true Daleks blast them.
The Cybermen it is almost expected that they keep upgrading and evolving but it is kinda appropriate that the Daleks as adverse to change and deviation as they are stay the same as long as possible, because in their way, Daleks don't change.
Anyway this form was strong enough to defeat the Time lords so unless a new power rises to challenge them they have no reason to change.
And for more IRL reasons the BBC knows this design works, they have worked with it for ages so they are as familiar with it as the Tardis phone box and have making this version down to a fine art (you would hope at least by this point), they got plenty in storage and they are going to be extra apposed to trying a new design given how much folks hated the last attempt.

To be honest old who was no different with the gun/mat grey becoming the definitive design baring some special ones to fit the plot, the only changes seen their were mostly due to damage to the prop. So if their wasnt issue with old who keeponf a consistant dalek design i see nothing wrong with new who being like that

If I'm honest, I am very bored with the Time War designs. I was never terribly big on the rivet effect they added on, or all the noises they make when moving.
Design wise, I felt it was a shame they quickly did away with the Paradigms rather then trying a few tweaks to compromise the more controversial aspects. The more subdued colour change was a step in the right direction.
And maybe perhaps get a few new voice actors rather then it just being Briggs all the time.

The Paradine Daleks were an absolute joke. they changed too much. They gave them shoulders! They changed the basic structure too much. Proportionally the bronze Daleks we’re proportionally in the correct design. There are plenty of fan designs in videos and animations on CZcams which I would love to see. I can’t see them really varying that much but I do like the black version of the bronze Daleks. Just avoid the Power Ranger look

The Cybermen are hardly the Dalek's rivals. After all, they are superior in only one regard - they are better at dying.

Hated the Paradigm Daleks! They were just not believable . Always reminded me of the ad for opel/ vauxhall cars

They need to figure out how to write good dalek stories again before they redesign them.
