Had 'locks for 9 years and just shaved them off last week
Still happy with my decision and loving the hassle free hair style, I don't need to do anything to my hair anymore
So happy with the change (OK lol change back to a shaved head since it was my style before locks)
But I did get lots of friends and family saying "don't do it! You will regret it" but it's just hair and it grows back
still don’t regret it?
@@jxwxlry some days I have random thoughts and miss them, but overall I would still say I'm happy without the hassle of having 'locs
But I'm definitely glad I grew them through
Wryt@@TheDigitalMurder
That first lady! I literally screamed NOOO! I want to cry. She's good looking enough to carry it, but the loss of those beautiful locs.
I like what you said about change. I had that naturally curly hair and I had been considering dreadlocks for years. 2021 was the year for me. I have embraced and enjoy yet change. I got them at 51 yrs old.
Da greatness ~
ok
Yessir 🇯🇲🇯🇲
In December I’ll be at my year mark
lol ill be in my 4th month
I’ll be at my 6th month lol but congratulations bro
I’ll be at my 4th month !
12 months with dreads or just growth
Twelve months dreads
Man the last guys dreads are my fav they're neat and he just has such a full head of hair great vid. Gunther also what are those shoes designed. The white and red ones where can one by rhem
Nah I started growing my
Locks to build confidence im not cutting them off🤣
bro can talk abt anything in the most respectful way. like legit i was worried when you brought up the hair line but you went abt it so well. have a great day gunther
I agree,he came with logic instead of just an opinion or judgment.
I love the wild look Gun. Let the roots free 😁🔥
Agreed looks good brodie!
I have freeform dreads out of straight hair and it takes alot of patience. I started them about four years ago and they're pretty thick already. Maybe I will cut them off one day, but at this point in my life it feels like a big loss if I would.
in this world where it seems so many in both sides seem to divide, it's honestly pretty dope that you include everyone in this video. I'm a white guy that's never had lochs but lots of my friends have, and no matter what your skin is, it definitely is a lifestyle!
My guy Gunthers dreads are a legit cheat code👀🤯
I cut my dreads like 10 years ago Have them for 4 years they were long tho , after I cut them I felt so free of the maintenance
That’s ironic bc many ppl usually get locs bc there’s less maintenance
I have a quick question. Why do people cut them off instead of just combing your hair?
The longer you have them harder it's gonna be for you to comb them out. You would really need a lot of time. But some people just want a new start.
@@tristan1936 and you lose a lot of your hair as well
Being a loctician..I have shaved a lot of locs, some i have literally refused..its so heart breaking..I usually tell my clients give it a year if you still feel the same,I'll shave them,..
Some come back with regrets we sew them backs others live with there regrets.
bruh why refuse
Give the mf what they ask for, if they regret it who cares do what they're tryna pay you for
Absolutely my locs mean more to me than just a hair style
Just to correct a piece of information that was stated. You can actually thoroughly wash you hair when you have locs but your stylist has to put the hair back into the locs the belong to.
You should bring back the old intros, Ngl I like them more.
I love that outro that looked and sounded like it was from the 80's!! Very nostalgic for me. Have a "GREAT" day!!!
can you do a tutorial of how to make a taper fade or something? btw i love you❤️
you should do a video on if dreads affect employability, only reason why I haven't got them yet
In November 2022 I’ll be at my year mark of having dreads
You stay changing your hair, it’s super relatable I wish I could stick to one look lol
soo what should i do if i feel like my roots arent loccin..this is my 2nd retwist and i feel like i have more new growth than actual dread😭
It's only your second retwist don't panic. Some people don't loc up until a year. I'm not certain of your situation but technically your roots aren't suppose to be locked only maintained and retwisted so that they can become locs, which is dead broken off hair.
you just have to be patient
Damn!! He DOES look completely different! He looks 20 years younger!!
THE THUMBNAIL SAIS EVERYTHING
i've been debating whether or not to get dreads for a while. I kind of want them but i don't know if i would look good with them.
Get two strand twist 👍🏽 and see if u like how u look with them
Everyone looks good with dreads
Ya i really wona get extentions because my Hair isnt growing as fast as i fought but its so expensive because i dont think plastic would Look good on my head 😂
I've had my locs for 2 years now
I don't have dreads (yet) but my hair gets past my shoulders (I'm a guy). I don't know when I'm going to cut my hair, but I know I will some day and even watching people cut their dreads almost makes me emotional🤧
Are you white, dead serious question?
@@Prod.PaulBeatz nope, Blasian
@@viiggooooooo do you have a straighter or curly hair type?
@@Prod.PaulBeatz It's either 3a, b or c, I don't really know
@@viiggooooooo you should get dreads, 4a - 4c is usually the ideal hair type but you could still get dreads
That 1st lady is beautiful with or without locs
You just seem like a good, solid dude, subscribed.
I ain't cutting mine anytime soon 🤢🤮🤮🤮
My dreadlocks are the same size and length as the first lady in the video and i haven't been styling them for 4 months now. I'm really battling between cutting them or not 🙈🙈
Don’t your gonna regret it😂
Honestly I could have a deep conversation with Gunther any day
You said "suitable" like 100 million times.
Can you use locking gel on straight hair to start dreads?
Hi am between cutting or keeping my locks I have had them for 10yrs and sometimes am longing for a change but I don't have the courage of the first cut
By next year I'm combing out my locs been growing my hair for 3 years and have had my locs for 5 months
That's sad :CC I will never shave my dreadlocks 😪
More reaction videos.. locks & hair styles!✌💎❤
Been growing for three years now 😌
Finna cut my dreads this week
🔺Can I have dreadlocks if I’m white? 🔺
I know this is a controversial topic but I really want input.
I’m a white male, with a small percentage of Native American background… and I’ve wanted dreadlocks for years!
I’m in the process of growing my hair out and it’s getting long, but I REALLY WANT LOCKS!
And I want them bc I just love them so much! And I love lock culture.
Can I please get opinions on if it’s ok for me to get dreadlocks or not. Pros vs cons. That would be great!
Thank you!
watch his straight hair dreadlocks vid
Anyone can have locs. Honestly, this style is easier for most African Americans to achieve because our hair is often course making the locking process much easier. However, there are Native Americans, Vikings, and many other cultures that have been reported with having this hairstyle long before meeting Africans.
It’s definitely gonna take longer with ur hair if it’s completely straight but it’s possible I would recommend crocheting the ends to get the sectioning somewhat permanent. 2 strand twist helped me a lot I had dreads for almost 3 years, just cut em off like 2 months ago to restart. Pros: they look cool and even the people that don’t like them much will still be interested in how u did it. Mine inspired a lot of people to start theirs and there are lots of styles u can try and have fun with.
Cons: they take a while to dry and u want to dry them well or u could get mold. They are harder to wash especially when they get long I used to have to use alot more shampoo to make sure they were clean. If the roots are to tight they can also get uncomfortable.
Tips: only Retwist every 6 to 8 weeks or if u do interlocking I would wait 2-3 months. Washing with cold water locks them faster and braiding after retwist made my retwist last 3 times longer, I only had to leave my braids in half a week-a whole week and I would get 3-4 weeks of them looking like I just came out of a salon
@@raywaybabyk3439 thank you so much that’s very helpful!
@@dombrown85 thank you! I’ve seen that in my research as well! I really appreciate your input!
I just passed my dreadlocks year mark
It's called locs damnit
My hair is straight - and I have over a 130 dreads.
They are neat and tight;)
My hair is thick, so I just made a lot of them
Thank you for the video!
This GHG Hussles second account
I been saying they look alike 😂😂 Gunther the Christian version of him

i'm watching these videos for educational purposes
This week I went to sobeys n a person said in French only African Americans can have hair like that. I just ignored them n went on my day. Iam Native American Canadian either way it’s not nice to be racist to other cultures great talk Gunther
Just cut mine after 8 1/2 years.....they served its purpose.....everybody do what's best for THEM
Just cut mines and I miss them so much
That’s what you get for cutting them 😐
uh oh..Gunt tryna tell us sum 👀
Still can’t find someone to do my hair
Love yo bro foreva🙏

He should do some vlogs I wonder what music he listen to
Can you do a lil mosey hair type please
what type of fade do you have
She just palm rolled
She looks like Jodie Foster
Next vid: I cut my dreadlocks again😭😭
1 year 5 months in for me
yo dreads maturing a bit
Can y’all please stop calling them dreadlocks? They are Locs. 😉
Differences?
The term dread has a negative connotation. It derives from Europeans who came across Africans with the hairstyle and said it look dreadful...dreadlocks. It is also why I just call my hair locs without the dread attached.
@@dombrown85 Exactly. Thank you for clarifying 👏🏾
@@dombrown85 Nobody really cares people are still going to call them dreads regardless
@@damauryy of course they are. I was merely giving information since someone asked for the difference.
🔥🔥🔥🔥
Should I get dreads if I got like mainly 2a-2c hair I want to but idk
His son has that hair type so see the video where he does it on his son

not real bro
He's real y'all. Even historically. The bible is more historically evident than most history like Alexander the great
Shut up bro smh
I highly doubt the guy at 9:44 has straight hair, dude. He looks celtic or germanic. Most of us have VERY curly hair naturally. It's obviously not afro type curls but I'd hardly call it straight. There are a multitude of ethnicities within Europe. If a white person had cowlicks at their scalp, they have natural curls. That's how our natural curls form.
Naga Mu’urs we’re first melanted natives on all continents all around the world. ain’t no such thing as african american, we’re mu’urs nagas or melanted natives of Amu’uraka.
Locs. Not Dreads. Nothing dread about them...colonial terms "dread"
Wrong. It's a Rastafarian word meaning dread or fear of God ( Jah).
@@grandmatheglorious.6358 I am not wrong. So do not get bright. My whole family are Rasta and we from Jamaica we’re taught “nothing dread about them” because there isn’t. So do your research, it is embedded in my knowledge. Peace
LOCS! stop caling them dreads or dreadlocks. Everytime I hear it, I cringe. They are called locs.
Get over yourself. What are you? The language police?
