Very creative
Hey fwip! Youâre so inspirational, you honestly boost me to play the game more and be more creative. I thank you!
I can't wait to see you do all the interiors of all the buildings đđ
Love your vids
Literally amazing, and I love the random blathering.
I love the idea of cafes and study areas popping up the closer you get to the university. Coffee shops and food trucks (carts) would be very on brand there too.
yes!! definitely more things to come geared towards the students :)
The students absolutely need a sticky-floored nightclub to unwind in...

This might not mean much, but i personally GREATLY appreciate you working in lower brightness. Maybe we can't see as well, but it feels so much better and looks so much cooler and more atmospheric. Your builds are incredible and the aesthetic is amazing, but when it feels like you're using night vision constantly, some of that gets lost, so to me this is much better!
That was meanđą
@@ballseater I dont see how what they said was mean? They were saying the lower brightness looks good bc it shows atmosphere and detail?
@@sapphirepebbles8258That was mean đą
Honestly i think going from 400% down to 140% was maybe a bit too far? I think like 180% would be a nice balance maybe?
happy seeing the slower pace again, really love to see all the details that go into the building process
I loved the new editing style, itâs much easier to follow the episode and really get a feel for the build/building process!!
Agreed
Yay! Glad you enjoyed it!
This has to be my favourite city building episode! So great to see you having fun building!! I love getting to watch you build in real time too, and the interiors are such a treat!! Just feels like a great Fwhip doing his magic episode :)
Glad you enjoy it!
For the university, as someone who's in academia, I wanted to offer some open-ended prompts of things to have, focusing on things you might not have thought of that will stand out and make unique builds to give the university some character:
-Where do students live? Dorms, nearby cheap apartment-style housing, fraternity buildings, etc
-Where do students eat? Dining halls, but also cafes, convenience stores, food trucks, etc
-Where do students go to drink/party? Where do students have illegal parties (underage drinking etc)? Where do students who don't want to drink go to party?
-Where do students go to work out? Are there sports fields/stadiums? Walking trails? A gym with equipment? Dance studios?
-Where do students go if they are sick? Do nursing/medical students have an onsite hospital to practice treating patients?
-How do students travel to and across campus? Is there a shuttle? Do they ride bikes, skateboards, and scooters? Are there desire paths? Are there disused buildings where the path has been degraded?
-Where do students study hands-on topics? Art studios, but also labs for experiments, lab schools for education students, outdoor areas for studying plants/animals, etc. Art studios can also include specialty areas like ceramics studios and their kilns, blacksmithing forges, photography darkrooms, etc.
-Where is student work shown off? Is there a theater? Concert hall? Museum? Student art is often displayed in other buildings, especially libraries, dining halls, and outdoor areas.
-Where do students graduate? Sometimes graduation is just held on a sports field or in a concert hall/theater, but sometimes there are grand arches and promenades for the purpose.
-Where do administrators work? Where are the janitors based? Where do the staff (non-teaching workers) and faculty (teaching workers) live?
-Universities grow and evolve over time, so having an old part of campus and a new part might be a fun way to vary your builds. University architecture is pretty distinctive and there are a few architectural styles that just scream "american university".
Hope this gives you lots of good inspiration! I'm super passionate about academia so hearing that you'll have a university build really inspired me to think about what I'd consider must-haves when building a university. These are a little skewed towards modern day but I hope breaking it down into important questions can help make them more broadly applicable.
I love that you also specified having old and new parts of campus. My college has been open over 150 years and constantly are building new stuff and renovating. I lived in a nice newly built dorm with air conditioning. But some of my classes are in buildings that are so old there is only 1 bathroom on each floor because it was built before women could go to college.
i love the new 1.21 blocks, perfect for a fantasy world!
THEY ARE SO GOOD
Fr I can't wait for the new update
During the modern medieval period, color was a status symbol. Hiring artists and getting hold of paint was really expensive, so only people of higher status could afford it. The more color and art you had. The more prosperous you were
This different style of building where you talk about the process more is something I love. I hope you decide to continue to do this. Wonderful builds and really excited that you did interiors!
I love it when you talk through the texturing and why each detail adds to the build. Helps me narrate in my head in my own world! Thank you!!đ
Fwhip donât over do it we all love your content and we want you to be happy and healthy so all the fwippers want u to take it easy
i was afraid no one was gonna say it
@@pieter-jansmets9549 I had to
I love that you went the Bdubs route and lowered the light, itâs much more realistic
The city is looking great keep on going
The 1.21 blocks is perfect for your FANTASY world
The bottom texture for the crafter goes great with deepslate bricks!!
I really enjoyed the pace of this episode! It feels a lot more laid back, easier to watch without having to be in the mood for that high energy vibe, while also being engaging the whole way through! Iâd love to see future episodes keep this sort of style
(Also, I am proud of you for doing interiors, it adds a lot of much needed life to the whole street )
Glad you enjoyed it!
01:38 I've seen some comments saying how we don't need another grey block, but this right here really shows why it is needed. The amount of depth a subtle change of color adds to a build is palpable.
Great pacing! Great buildings! Great interiors! Loved the video and I felt like it brought me back to the reason I started watching you. Hope that you keep on going
Thank you for the feedback! Tried something new here :D
That sewing machine idea is great. Love the narrow town houses.
I love the random build-blabber. Makes me very happy, and also distinctly helps me think through my own build process.
as if we needed more proof fwhip really just wants to build stormwind he's building a dwarven district xD
I really like the moodier lighting! And I honestly think doing the interiors adds so so much! I know it takes longer, but it's really enjoyable to see them, it makes it so I can see myself interacting with the world
I just wanted to tell you I love all your videos, but Iâm excited to see you back in your hardcore world! I play with my dad and while ours are just a bunch of simple builds or things we find from tutorials (yeah, at 30+ and 60+ we are just toodling along), but we have such a good time, and your videos give me so many fun ideas. Thank you for being such a positive influence in the community đ«¶đ»đ
Yes talking through the builds keeps me much more engaged and itâs entertaining to see the process.
Hey fWhip, quick tip, use some lava in the vats to add a bubbling noise for a bit more immersion đ
P.S: I really love your contentâ€
Ooooooo!!!! Yes
Nothing better than sitting back and watching fWhip work on a rainy day. Cozy vibes.â€â€
This has been one of my favorite episodes by far! I love seeing minecraft interiors so much. It makes it feel so cozy and itâs funny like playing house. I also think itâs a great idea to leave the details of the back walls blank. It will give you so much more freedom to build what you want there later.
Please give the horse you attached to the cart a haybale. Or maybe a carrot or apple in a frame. Heâs gonna get hungry!
Omggg Iâm so excited for the university build!!!! Since the beginning of this series I was hoping youâd take on some sort of university/academy type project so I canât wait to see it come to fruition in the future episodesâ€â€â€
I love how you walk us through your thought process. Your buildings are so unique and interesting, so the breakdown definitely helps the creative gears start turning-a lot of âaha!â moments đââïž
So glad you're loving what you are doing here! I enjoy watching you do interiors. It's all the thought you put into the little details that really impresses me. Thanks, Fwip! â€
This is fWiping amasing
When you build the trees you should have them cover majority of the light coming in and make it like an old city proper. The road could have leaves falling, potholes, puddles, etc. immersion lore!
So excited for a new hardcore series your buildings are always so good â€đ
I love the University idea and the greenhouse speciality the greenhouse it is so beautiful
If you donât want to ruin the lighting in the corner you can change it to light gray carpet so it isnât spawnable.
Yes fWhip, we do like the random blaberring. Thank you
39:35 theres a lava pool kind of in the shape of a heart. Great vid!
This was a great episode! I always really enjoy the more building focused videos and the new additions to the city are lovely - I really like the interiors especially and all the little details that make the city really come together and feel lived in and alive!
I absolutely love this new editing style, reminds me of building with fwhip with the slower pace, love getting to see more of the whole video process!
Fwip is in my top 3 favorite minecrafters.
I love the way you build.
Love the style.
Love the color.
And I also find your speech pattern very nice, and easy to listen to.
I have a tip for you, when building, using carpets from carpet dupers/string dupers are a really cost effective and time effective way to get up and down if you dont want to use scaffold (carpets dont obstruct your view on your build as much as scaffolding does)
edit: if you break whichever one all of the carpets above it break, just like scaffold
also im a first time viewer so i dont know if you want to use glitches
also, concrete powder kinda looks like the fake grasses in most schools
He doesn't do that sorta thing in his hard core world.
@@mscobee1 k i had a feeling based on the fact he wasnt just duping glass and stuff
Dear fwhip,
I would really love to see you build a volcano on top of the mountain and it can look like a tropical bioam with palm trees and bushes. Please cocedere the idea.đ
Great build, good to see you enjoy building and awesome watching the city grow. Feel like you missed an opportunity to decorate the cloth store with some dyed leather armor on armor stands tho.
I know we all experience so called "writer's block" but please know we support you in every way we can. You are a huge inspiration to me... Finished my 1st build with the new Tuff blocks... A horse/donkey barn. I think it turned out amazing. Know we love your creativity, editing and the narration over the condensed versions. A true creator / artist. Thanks for all you do bro!!!
the goat is back with the best hardcore series in history
Hey fWhip, i was wondering if you've ever thought about building a modern/futuristic district almost as a city of sorts?
hey fwhip, i hope you like building again. it looks amazing and i get amazed everytime i wtch you build. (especially interiors)
Looks phenomenal! Can't wait to see what you do with the University!
This episode was AWESOME! the university idea is so cool and you could build libraries, apparel shops, DORMS and so much more! this project is so cool đ€©
The interiors are the best part of every episode! I think your fans would love to see an episode where you visit a ton of the old builds in your world and fix/improve on the unfinished parts. For those of us that have been watching the series it will be satisfying and full of nostalgia.
Loving turning down down the brightness! Love lighting work and makes the world feel so much more real/layered
Just in case you didnât know, a fire aspect sword will light candles â€
i love the variation of buildings, i also love to see more building and interior work as you say!
Awesome video. I think that multi-layered shops based off the Chester Rows would look great in the city by giving a wider feeling.
Fwhip fanboying about the tuff blocks is so funny
Fwip not filling nor lighting the crevace bellow the building is a classic lol.
If I cover it, it's magically not there anymore!
@@fWhip I see a clip in a future episode where you go in and light it up because it's full of mobs and say "what are you guys doing down here?"
I really like the change in light levels. I know it's better to look at, but I agree that over-brightness dilutes the impact of what it truly looks like in-game. Love these videos and the series as a whole. I've taken a lot of inspiration here to my own world
So glad you're back building in the city, loving the new additions.
Really like the new style of the video also
Seeing Fwhip all exited over tuff made my day
I love seeing you building the interior. Please do more.. â€
For some inspiration and colour. Take a peak at Willemstad, Curaçao. The city center is beautifull! Other tip for inspiration is the city of Troyes in northern France
It would be SUPER cool if you made big grand church and library for the university. To make it super grand, luxurious, and give it a private school feeling which matches the vibes of the other buildings. Make it super grand and super detailed .
I sometimes listen to Minecraft videos while I am working, and I really enjoy your videos. It helps me get through the days. Looking forward to the next SOS video.
This is awesome!! id love to see you build more like this
Hey fWhip, you could tuck a button in the dark corner to prevent spawns then you wouldn't need the glow lichen there anymore. Fantastic job on the interiors! Am very proud!
Lowering the lightning makes a big difference, which I enjoy! Glad you are still continuing this series!
I missed this series!!! Nice builds as always, keep up the good work!!
truly one of my favorite fwhip videos ever! Thank you and take care!
I can't wait for the new blocks either, they're amazing. I love listening to you talk through your build process. It's helped me with my own builds
Your hardcore videos seriously keep me going!
Love the slower walk through style video definitely need more of this in the future. Also please keep up doing the interiors of your buildings they look amazing and add so much life to the builds. Would love to see a video maybe focused on going through older builds and doing some of the interiors you missed. Keep up the good work!
Love this style of video Fwhip new buildings look great!!
I do not mean this lightly! I love this pace of episodes. So happy to see it again, definitely have missed it a lot. Keep up the great work!
You should make a creepy and ghetto part of the town with a sort of underground black market. Make it kind of sketchy and maybe have little potion stands and little shops that sell shady items!
Loving the slightly darker view, makes everything look much more natural! I wonder if there might by some student greenhouses in the future? Like, places where students can experiment with plants, or host Botany Clubs.
love the interiors! keep doing them!!!
This episode added so much to the world! Keep it up Fwhip
wow this really inspired me to start building again, great job!
Been looking forward to this new video!!!
I looooove the interiors!!!! Special hidden talent!
I'm glad you were able to carve sometime out for your Solo World. I know that your SMP has a finite time period, so you have to dedicate time for it. Not saying that I don't enjoy SOS, but you are a creator whose solo stuff I enjoy almost more than all the interactions on the SMP.
I look forward to every single one of your videos⊠itâs genuinely impressive how you take untraditional blocks and make it all flow so well together. by far one of the best builders out there.
This episode was awesome. I love seeing you building and I really like to hear your thoughts troughout the build. I don't mind a timelapse or two at all, but hearing you thoughts while building helps a lot to understand what and why you are doing. And I don't need a thousand cuts and everything at once and all fast paced. I like some chill building a lot more!
The builds are amazing and I love to see your new found love for interiors! It just adds so much more live to the builds than just beautiful facades.
A boat or ship would look great down in the harbour there đ
Something I would love to see is some non-commersial public buildings as well as some converted buildings to show that the city has been around a while and buildings have been repurposed. An example could be something that was a spa or such being turned into a office, workshop or cafe. Also the kind of buildings non-commersial public buildings would be stuff like places of worship, bathrooms, public drinking fountains etc. Possibly also fast food places? Maybe food carts or kitchens that open onto the street to sell food to people heading to work or to school
Yes I do enjoy your random blathering. It's a highlight! Really enjoyed that it felt unscripted, more real, like your actual thoughts. Terrific insight into the mind of a top notch Minecraft builder.
I strive to be able to build like this, and love doing detailed smaller projects, but I will say the time it take for even small ones feels crazy. I can't imagine doing some builds like this, but I started a new world and am planning in making it stick with me. Thanks for some more inspiration.
Great to see you back hope youâre feeling better
I'm very eager to use tuft, seems wonderful for gradients
Can you release a video series of building guides in the style that Grian did in the past (building school)?
Great video! I loved watching you build the interiors today. It really made things feel like they came to life a lot more.
AAHHH IVE NEVER BEEN THIS EARLY BEFORE!!! hope everyone has a lovely day! :3
I'm not sure if you've already done it yet or not, but a gothic style church with a big cemetery could be really cool to see.
The way you edited this video made it feel much more personal and like you were talking directly to me the viewer, I really liked it and I could tell how much effort you put into it!
well done love the new builds especially the study café area
This video was amazing!! I loved all of the interiors. Sometimes when building interiors i have to just start and the creative juices begin flowing. I think youâre too hard on yourself at times with the interiors! Youâre doing great and keep up the hard work!
Love your series so much!
The new tuff blocks are the best. Iâm obsessed too. Canât wait to rebuild the jungle temple with them. Think it will look SO good!
a cave of the deep dark but repurposed for a steampunk dwarves kingdom would be such a cool idea man
Love the new editing style! Felt a bit more mellow and more like your style :)
