- The Royal Highland Fusiliers, 2nd Battalion Royal Regiment of Scotland marched through Glasgow City Centre on 15th November 2013 to mark the end of a six-month tour of Helmand in Afghanistan.
The event was to give thanks to the people of Glasgow, where 2 Scots traditionally recruits soldiers from, for their support during this tour and the two previous deployments to the country.
Terrific!
👏👏👏
In my day, this lot were that dangerous..they used to split them up...🏴💂♀️
Can someone explain to me..the meaning of the group of men at the end of the parade..I’ve watched a few videos of your parades..and there is sometimes a group of older men walking at the end of it
They are veterans, former soldiers from the regiment who are marching alongside their modern day counterparts.
Thank you for the return info..I’ve always seen them following the marching..just didn’t click that that’s who they were
Older men marching at the end of parade are veterans of the Batt. ...some from ww2 many from Korea and later ventures.
@@dennismccaulley6061 thank you..seems like the only way..us Americans pay tribute to our troops..is maybe twice a year..Memorial Day and Veterans Day..might be a couple others every now and then..but nothing like you all do
