Wow, I wrote that comment almost three months before Sinead left us. At the time, I couldn’t hear enough from her, listened to her constantly, an obsession that seemed to come from out of the blue. Sinead O’Connor had a HUGE role in both mending the troubles between England and Ireland, Sin Fein being officially acknowledged as a legitimate and peaceful group, but most of all, exposing the abuse of Catholic children all over the world, the blind eye and collusion of the pope and Vatican City. Sinead! You literally changed the course of Catholicism! Lastly, I’d like to say that the public should get up off the “nothing compares 2u”, and take themselves higher by exploring her earlier work, which by far the most important. Start with “Famine”. When Sinead O'Connor died, I became quite intrigued about her purpose in this world🌎. I learned so much about her and I wish I had known her better. Before she died 🙏🕊️ I say that because I can fully understand What she was trying to say and do. She was The Matriarch for all of us women on this earth.💔🕊️ All she wanted to do was spread two words, love and peace. In return, we crucified that woman until finally she died at the age of 56. My point here is this though.🕊️🕊️ As soon as she died I found this song and I began listening to it every single day. Maybe two or three times because it meant something to me,and my personal life. Every time I would put it on and listen to it I would have to shed my tears, the reason being that I sacrificed so much for a wounded marriage🕊️💔. I gave it my all. He had my entire heart and my greatest intentions to make our marriage good. As the marriage progressed I found out he didn't love me.🥀🥀 He was using me for financial gain and the fact that I was a good person and would never suspect him of any wrongdoings . So it isn't till today that I didn't s*** a tear😢. Whatever that was is over and there's a person in my life now ,who has giving me a reason to stop the tears. To tell me, which I already knew all that I am worthy of and so much more. I have waited so long for that person to come along and give me that helping hand and an ear to listen to what I had to say. I will never forget What this wonderful woman stood for and how without even knowing her she helped me understand that' in a love relationship it takes a lot of work and sacrifice to sustain the beauty of that love between husband and wife ❤️ l. We have to make sacrifices because the love is so precious. We will do anything to keep it alive❤ For me to maintain a beautiful love affair I would sacrifice everything. Thank you Sinead for helping me understand and learn to Believe the bad that hurt you in the past is now gone and never look💔behind , continue to move ⏩ forward I know that I did sacrifice everything I could to make my marriage work. So that's all I needed to know is I truly tried ☘️🌷May you rest in peace 🕊️☘️☘️🙏🕊️ 5:335:33
She covered Elton John's song. He admitted it himself. Not because she is a better artist than the author, but because she understands the victim of irreproachable violence. She covered the author's song not because she sings better or understands it better, but because she has experienced this from everyone around her. She is in pain.
I know Sinead by "nothing compares"... And only that song... Decided to do a you tube search on her tonight... And My God!... Why wasn't she promoted like all the other singers... Absolute brilliance... Can seriously not get enough of her voice... Someone said in these comments Elton John wrote the song not knowing he actually wrote it for Sinead... He does is justice.... She perfects it... Well done
Because she was too troubled, and “rebellious” for the music industry. Her war vs the catholic church didn’t help either. Watch her “behind the music” doc, its on youtube. But seriously, one of the greatest voices EVER.
A good and popular Elton John song is transformed into a profound meditation on loss and flares momentarily into sheer rage and despair in one of the most astounding covers I have ever heard. Beautifully done.
Stunning. Hauntingly Beautiful. Moves me to tears. I always loved her - she was 1 yr older than me. I experienced similar abuse & trauma as a child. It took her down- (& the loss of her son). She spoke Truth, and was " punished" for it. A bright light is gone from this Earth. Shine on, bright Sinead, as I know you are. 💜🙏😇💙🦋😘🙏
What Sinéad did for this song is nothing but to teaches us how to change a pop masterpiece into a perfect prayer! Deep, lonely, sad and soulbreaker her rendition. Best track of Two Rooms album.
Ela te voz pra falar enquanto uns teviram medo. Te amarei e ouvirei sempre. 🙏🕊🎶
My heart is shattered hearing the news of Sinead's death . There are no words, just devastating pain. I wish I could have saved her from all the hurt of this world.....I wish there could have been a way for her to stay. My broken heart wishes these things. ... Sinead, we love you. ....we always will. 🫂🌹💜 The world has lost an angel today....
When the phrase "hard done by you" comes around the second time, you know you're hearing someone who was "hard done" by someone, and she's living this all over again. Whatever you want to call it, that thing Billie Holiday had, the ability to take another lyricist's words and cut you with them, Sinéad has it too. It doesn't matter whether she's singing Taupin's words, Prince's, John Lennon's, or Robert Hodgens's, they're coming from her heart.
I'm so Sorry and Hurt for you Sinead 😟 So Many of Us Have LOVED YOU ALWAYS...Society doesn't help us with Mental, Bipolar etc. 😥 Was looking forward to your USA tour after covid. No more BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN, INCREDIBLE SONGS 💔
Probably the only Elton John cover I like more than the original. She took a good-but-disposable pop song and turned it into an open wound that makes me cry every time I hear it.
her voice was like a cat's purr that help soothe, helped the healing process. even the angry ones- especially the angry ones- the sacrifice made was her peace of soul... ever questing... as an atheist I can only wish her satisfactions outnumbered her disappointments...
She was a voice and a singer from another planet. One of the greatest female voice of all time. This rendition of Sacrifice is even better than Nothing Compares 2U. Astonishing.
I find only one problem with Sinead O'Connor and that is not enough of her records out there to listen to. Has to be one of the best voices I have ever heard
I just can't get enough of this song. It reminds me of my relationship with my ex. I gave my heart willingly to a man that I thought would love me to the end of time. When you find out you're wrong 💔✨ and it was all deceit. You listen to this song, and you know what you needed to do before you gave your heart to him💔 I should have tested him to see how much he would have s✨✨sacrificed in order to have me. In my life there was never a sacrifice on his end😢. How crazy I am is that sometimes we find out too late, the components of what makes two people, remain in love through the years. They must be 100 components or ingredients that keeps that love, pure and sincere❤ just a very addictive song for those who have been hurt when it came to love 💔✨ 0:47

I don't think I've ever heard this version, how very beautiful! She was so beautiful and had such a beautiful voice. I trust she has found peace and love now in the heavens 🙏🏼💗
Such a volume in this song 🎵 it is from a deep and loving soul as Sinead miss you❤ rest in peace🙏💕
Sinéad O'Connor sente profundamente ... ❤️🌹e todos nós também...dela.👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️🌹❤️💯
Beautiful woman. Beautiful voice. Beautiful heart ❤️
Sinead you were simply one of a kind. There will never be another. God bless
She's singing like an angel. We love you Sinead.
I’ve listened to this countless times but this time 💔 I love you beautiful soul. Fly free Sinead You’re with God now ✨
For someone who never set out to be a 'star', she certainly became one, and now in death she will become an absolute legend. Suaimhneas síorraidhe a Shinéaid, ní bheidh do leithéid ann aríst. Ba fhíor Gheadheal thú. Go codladh tú go sámh le do mhac. 😢🇮🇪
This song. Chills. Just as it did a million years ago.
Agree.
So that's all I needed to know is I truly tried ☘️🌷May you rest in peace 🕊️☘️☘️🙏🕊️ 5:33 5:33
Well done
Because she spoke out about abuse in the catholic church
I don't think Elton John ever wrote anything memorable. He wrote the music and Bernie wrote all of the lyrics.
Because she was too troubled, and “rebellious” for the music industry.
Her war vs the catholic church didn’t help either.
Watch her “behind the music” doc, its on youtube.
But seriously, one of the greatest voices EVER.
Just found this now 😭❤️
Bernie Taupin writes the lyrics to Elton's songs
A good and popular Elton John song is transformed into a profound meditation on loss and flares momentarily into sheer rage and despair in one of the most astounding covers I have ever heard. Beautifully done.
Great lady and soulful singer. RIP sweetheart ❤️🕊️✌️
The beautiful voice of an angel ✨✨🙏✨💘
Voice of an angel - am in tears
Sacrifice…
Sinead surpassing herself.
Singing angel.
A voice of a angel ❤️R I P Your now with your fellow angels 💗
Such a beautiful cover she did!!!😃👍☮️♥️
Emoción infinita. Siempre lloro
Such a great album… you are correct though. Oh and Oleta Adams ‘Don’t Let The Sun Go Down On Me’ was also quite breathtaking…
Totally best track on 2 Rooms. I prefer it to Elton’s original
@@EJAnnieJake I agree, I betcha Elton does also.
Most beautiful version of the song ever
Mitten ins Herz!!!❤😢❤😢❤❤❤
She was SO gifted.
This song specially performed by Sinead is a MASTERPIECE. What a voice... an angel.
The world has lost an angel today....
When the phrase "hard done by you" comes around the second time, you know you're hearing someone who was "hard done" by someone, and she's living this all over again. Whatever you want to call it, that thing Billie Holiday had, the ability to take another lyricist's words and cut you with them,
Sinéad has it too. It doesn't matter whether she's singing Taupin's words, Prince's, John Lennon's, or Robert Hodgens's, they're coming from her heart.
Pretty sure it’s “hardened by you.” I still like your message.
They've suffered/paid their dues, in order to interpret authentically
It's actually "hard done by you"
It’s pretty easy to look up, but it’s definitely “hard done.”
Rest in power Dear Sinead, thankyou for all you shared with us & may god bless your soul XXX
I'm so Sorry and Hurt for you Sinead 😟 So Many of Us Have LOVED YOU ALWAYS...Society doesn't help us with Mental, Bipolar etc. 😥 Was looking forward to your USA tour after covid. No more BEAUTIFULLY WRITTEN, INCREDIBLE SONGS 💔
this will forever be my favorite of her tunes. Today, on the day of her death, the haunting closing repetition just says it all. Rest in Power.
Probably the only Elton John cover I like more than the original. She took a good-but-disposable pop song and turned it into an open wound that makes me cry every time I hear it.
Well said.
very well said indeed.
God she was a stunningly beautiful woman when she was young. Voice to match
She was a beatiful woman out an inside
her voice was like a cat's purr that help soothe, helped the healing process. even the angry ones- especially the angry ones- the sacrifice made was her peace of soul... ever questing... as an atheist I can only wish her satisfactions outnumbered her disappointments...
Best Singer ever.. 😞... We will miss You.. Thank You 🙏... Maybe You don't knowed it... But we loved You... Tears in Heaven 🙏
Nothing compares to Sinead´s beautiful voice and singing. Out of this world, the beauty.
Beautiful 😢❤
The best version
Unforgetable!! Will always love you Sinéad ❤
She was a voice and a singer from another planet. One of the greatest female voice of all time. This rendition of Sacrifice is even better than Nothing Compares 2U. Astonishing.
Musical genius her vocals were pitch perfect she made this song a better version through her amazing artistry and her incredible didtinctive talent
The way she describes it !! It’s also how she felt it and sang it ❤
She was magnificent ❤. The voice of an angel.
I find only one problem with Sinead O'Connor and that is not enough of her records out there to listen to. Has to be one of the best voices I have ever heard
I dont agree there are a lot of songs and each one is at such a level no one can come close...(except one)
Aye.
Back then, true. She was bashed everywhere.
But not now. 2020 n lots of Sinead's old songs coming out.
A beautiful voice. A beautiful soul. RIP.
This is one of my all-time favorite covers because she let the lyrics drive her performance. It's a completely different song than the original.
