- A request...... for David out in Japan.....
A song by Hamish Henderson written in 1960 and to some a candidate for a Scots Anthem although Hamish saw it as even wider than that. Written to the pipe tune The Bloody Fields Of Flanders, the story and a translation of the song can be found here en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Freedom_... - Hudba
Thank you, Kev. I'm very, very honored for you to answer my request. This is a great song, and you have hit a 5-star out-of-the-park home run with your singing of it. Luke Kelley's recording of this song, as wonderful as it is, has now fallen to CZcams's second best rendition of Freedom Come All Ye.

This always makes me cry, thinking of those that fought for an independent Scotland all their lives and died not knowing it as such. Saor Alba
Haunting song, beautifully done. This is a real favorite.
Hi Kev, 4 years later and after listening to lots of other versions I like yours mair and mair. Great to see you are still squeezing the wooden bagpipes wae metal strings and chirpin' out the tunes. I keep coming back to your rendition because I feel you best express the sentiments ( not all of which I agree with!) while not strangulating "The Bloody Fields of Flanders). Thank you.

Nice playing
I am an advocate for this as the national anthem
It would speak to the world of the univeralism of the Scot, rather than the narrow minded anti-English alternatives
@scotrelf
there are many would agree with you
