This past winter I caught a 33” striper on 6lb test. It was on a very limber rod so it absorbed the pull. Took me about 7 or 8 mins to land it.

I've fished for base for over 50years and always fished ear the bank. I noticed you fish out in the middle of the lake most of the time. Didn't realize base feed out that far from the bank
They feed all over but i found the really big ones like to feed near the bank. They like to pin bait/trout up against the bank and feed on them.
I'll be at Trinity Lake all next week. I know where I'm starting. I got my mid-stroll all set up. I can't believe you got one on a frog.

As a fairly new angler, I wonder how long generally stays at an area. In the first 30min of the vid you situated yourself at that point and slayed. My question is, how long do you typically/generally fish an area before moving on to the next?
It really depends. If i practiced and couldnt get on a bite anywhere else, i would of just stayed there all day. Since i didnt practice, i went to explore and look for another location and it didnt pan out for me. If the fish are biting, i usually stay for awhile. But if im just catching smaller ones like 12-15" fish, i usually move. Need to find fish that are going to win or put you in the money.
May I ask why you use straight fluoro on your spinning setups? Is it just preference or you see some benefits in using it instead of braid-fluoro? Thanks 🙌🏻
I use braid to flouro. My leader is just extremely long. I get to the connection knot at the end of a long cast. I like the long leader because im always retying my knots so i cut out a lot of line while fishing.
