I was listening to this for the millionth time, and when I got to the "I'm an angel, I'm an atom, when nobody enters my room," it suddenly hit me exactly what this song is about. It's that magic, feeling of wonder when you're alone in your room, your imagination dragging you to far off places, being anything you want to be, staring out the window and, well, seeing yourself dancing on the beautiful moon. The illusion is broken when someone intrudes, because it brings us back to ourselves and realty.

There are so many impossible imageries in the lyrics: eyes becoming planets, someone watching themself doing something else, becoming an atom. But when you’re living inside your mind, anything is possible

A lot of people probably don't get the lyric where she says she feels time. But you're wrong. You do understand that lyric. Everyone here does. Have you ever sat outside, or next to your window and just watched, let time pass by you, watch as the sun goes down slowly, or if you stargazing and you just watch the stars as time passes slowly? You've felt time before, we all have.

@Charles Goodwin I always thought that that portion of the lyrics was about a kind of duality similar to Schrödinger's Cat, a commonly misinterpreted experiment but the popular idea behind it is the cat being in two states at the same time until observed, which is when it is only in one. In this song, I feel like the persona written in the song exhibits that duality (divine/insignificant or angel/atom), being both until observed or faced by another person, to which they show only one side or state to the observer.
Charles Goodwin i really like that interpretation of things. it’s a very complicated song, but the angel/atom line in particular makes me think the song is about not truly being anything unless someone else is watching. alone in your room, you’re just an atom affecting nothing. but when someone else is watching, you feel important.
but, especially if you’re not religious,if you go through life always thinking that time, a presence that will always exist, is watching you at all times, then everything you do can feel remarkable

this is my favorite song of hers. i usually don’t listen to the same song over and over again and mostly when i do i tend to get bored of it after a while - but not this.
i discovered aurora since late 2022 and this song from early last year, and fast forward to 2024 even with the release of her newer songs this is still one that i come back to very often
so yeah even to say i love this song is an understatement.
