You say how did you never hear of Nightwish. This is true for very many people, including myself. There are two stages in a person’s existence, before Nightwish and with Nightwish. This is certainly a more ‘mainstream Nightwish’ for you to react to and the Wacken concert was red hot from start to finish. I see from the smiles that Floor had you in her hand, as well as the audience. Tuomas lyrics, the band’s pounding run away train and Floor’ voice and aura, what is there not to like. ‘I can’t wait to do more’, yes welcome aboard to the Nightwish Army, it’s one hell of a ride.
This was a 3 day metal festival with Nightwish headlining on this particular evening. The crowd is 82,000 and they are all having fun The singer Floor Jansen is from the Netherlands a 6 foot tall beauty who can sing anything.

Nightwish is unique in that the composer, Tuomas Holopainen, knows how to write for orchestra as well as a "band". The background symphonic music and chorus combines with the guitars, drums, keyboard, and (later) the multiple instruments of Troy Donockley to produce a unique sound. There are other bands that also do this, but not to the extent and not with the same seamless integration as Nightwish. As someone whose favorite kinds of music are classical and metal, this was a special discovery for me. And Krakow is beautiful ;).
Glad to see you continue with Nighwish. Gabriel's list is a good guide, with the best links for most songs. Live is generally best with this band. Ghost Love Score (live at Wacken 2013) is a must-watch at some point. Floor's vocals in this are mind-blowing. You ain't seen nothing yet!
Floor is Dutch. You probably read that in the comments from your other reaction, i.e. the Netherlands. Black Metal is 180 degrees from Nightwish. They have been called a Symphonic Metal band, but only because there isn't a human word for their music. They are......Nightwish. Great reaction!
Witaj Dominiko! (Hi Dominika) It's nice to find someone from Poland in reactions channels on YT. You are right. Nightwish isn't very popular in our country but trust me they are absolutely amazing. You don't have to be a metal fan. Their music is versatile. And yes! If there is such a option always choose live version. I suggest as a next song Ever Dream from Wacken 2013 (this same concert Storytime was). Floor Jansen (lead vocalist of Nightwish and the best vocalist on this planet) said that was the most difficult song to sing (until Shoemaker from their last album). I really enjoyed your reaction. I am old metal (46 years old) fan from Poland. They were pretty popular in Poland, at least for metal listeners, lot of fans had stickers and tshirts with Nightwish. If i remember well "Nemo" whas even played a lot in the radio (Trójka) back in the days when was released.

I am metal head, too (48 years old) but I realize that metal music is not such popular like back in time (80's and 90's). I'm listening radio stations frequently and besides 2 Metallica songs there is no metal music at all in this most popular ones. And you? When did you hear Nightwish song in any radio station last time? I'm sorry but Nightwish is familiar only for those who likes good rock/metal music. I am from UK and we have same situation , only terrible pop music is played on TV and Radio whereas when i was young Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Judas Priest were often high on the charts.

A Nightwish party is like walking towards an angel with open arms. It's as humbling as it is fun, energetic, and certainly one of the best experiences you will ever have. Mine was a week ago in New York. 🤘🤘 "Storytime" is the main theme in the live action movie, "Imaginaerum: By Nightwish". This film was produced during the Nightwish Era where Annette Olzon was the singer, so she also appears in the film. I couldn't find the movie in movie platforms like Netflix or Prime Video so I purchased the DVD/Blu-ray combo and now it's forever in my collection. 😁👍👍 You are going to love your journey. You mentioned that you may have heard two songs and one of them was Wishmaster. If that's the case it was their first singer Tarja Turunen who sang on that song. Nightwish had two previous singers before Floor. Tarja, Anette (whos sings this one on the studio album) and of course Floor Jansen who you just witnessed. The sheer look of pleasure on your faces said it all , this is my favourite NIGHTWISH song and it took me a while to work out that its about Peter Pan . Floor is one of the two best female Metal singers out there the other being Melody ( yes that's her name ) from the band LILIAC 5 siblings aged 14 to 22 who are on their way to being as big as the spectacular NIGHTWISH .

Watching you two talking is such a great pleasure. I can tell you are very good, honest people who enjoy the beauty of music and all that surrounds it. I especially liked watching Dominika's face : in the beginning, she was restrained, politely listening... and then as the song progressed, I could see she was starting to move to the beat (who can resist those drums) , and by the end she is moving closer to the screen and the excitement on her face is unmistakable. Hello I have some info on Floor Jansen for you here. She is married to Hannes Van Dahl, drummer of the Swedish power metal band Sabaton. Together they have a daughter. ( Freja ) Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6). Re-singing style ranges from opera to screams and grunts. She usually sings in English, in addition she has also sung songs in Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish, Latin, Italian and Swedish. Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016. From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour. On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Hello, wellcome to the world of Nightwish. So nice you've found this band. Every NW song is different with different kind of themes, having a story behind. Sometimes the lyrics have a deeper meaning and will open up listening to a couple of times. That's what makes these songs great, they are not - once listen and forget -songs. There is a sixth band member, Troy Donockley a multi instrumentalist from England who not featured in this song. There are 14 songs plus an instrumental at this concert and all are perfect.
About metal, there are many metal sub genre and it are very different, from fun and playful to very heavy and dark. from slow to fast and so on. And vocally there are many many different singing stile and mixing different metal styles, experimenting, contrasting, mixing with classical, folk music and so on. I personally really like metal and archaic folk music mix, Also i like vocal contrast when using nice clean vocals and growling

Live is generally the best policy with Nightwish. Definitely one of the best live bands on the planet, especially since having Floor Jansen on vocals.

You say how did you never hear of Nightwish. This is true for very many people, including myself. There are two stages in a person’s existence, before Nightwish and with Nightwish. This is certainly a more ‘mainstream Nightwish’ for you to react to and the Wacken concert was red hot from start to finish. I see from the smiles that Floor had you in her hand, as well as the audience. Tuomas lyrics, the band’s pounding run away train and Floor’ voice and aura, what is there not to like. ‘I can’t wait to do more’, yes welcome aboard to the Nightwish Army, it’s one hell of a ride.
This was a 3 day metal festival with Nightwish headlining on this particular evening. The crowd is 82,000 and they are all having fun The singer Floor Jansen is from the Netherlands a 6 foot tall beauty who can sing anything.

Nightwish is unique in that the composer, Tuomas Holopainen, knows how to write for orchestra as well as a "band". The background symphonic music and chorus combines with the guitars, drums, keyboard, and (later) the multiple instruments of Troy Donockley to produce a unique sound. There are other bands that also do this, but not to the extent and not with the same seamless integration as Nightwish. As someone whose favorite kinds of music are classical and metal, this was a special discovery for me.

Floor is Dutch. You probably read that in the comments from your other reaction, i.e. the Netherlands. Black Metal is 180 degrees from Nightwish. They have been called a Symphonic Metal band, but only because there isn't a human word for their music. They are......Nightwish. Great reaction!
Witaj Dominiko! (Hi Dominika) It's nice to find someone from Poland in reactions channels on YT. You are right. Nightwish isn't very popular in our country but trust me they are absolutely amazing. You don't have to be a metal fan. Their music is versatile. And yes! If there is such a option always choose live version. I suggest as a next song Ever Dream from Wacken 2013 (this same concert Storytime was). Floor Jansen (lead vocalist of Nightwish and the best vocalist on this planet) said that was the most difficult song to sing (until Shoemaker from their last album).

I am old metal (46 years old) fan from Poland. They were pretty popular in Poland, at least for metal listeners, lot of fans had stickers and tshirts with Nightwish. If i remember well "Nemo" whas even played a lot in the radio (Trójka) back in the days when was released.

I am metal head, too (48 years old) but I realize that metal music is not such popular like back in time (80's and 90's). I'm listening radio stations frequently and besides 2 Metallica songs there is no metal music at all in this most popular ones. And you? When did you hear Nightwish song in any radio station last time? I'm sorry but Nightwish is familiar only for those who likes good rock/metal music. I am from UK and we have same situation , only terrible pop music is played on TV and Radio whereas when i was young Iron Maiden, Motorhead, Judas Priest were often high on the charts.

Floor is one of the two best female Metal singers out there the other being Melody ( yes that's her name ) from the band LILIAC 5 siblings aged 14 to 22 who are on their way to being as big as the spectacular NIGHTWISH .

I can tell you are very good, honest people who enjoy the beauty of music and all that surrounds it.
I especially liked watching Dominika's face : in the beginning, she was restrained, politely listening... and then as the song progressed, I could see she was starting to move to the beat (who can resist those drums) , and by the end she is moving closer to the screen and the excitement on her face is unmistakable.

I have some info on Floor Jansen for you here.
She is married to Hannes Van Dahl, drummer of the Swedish power metal band Sabaton. Together they have a daughter. ( Freja )
Floor Jansen is a soprano, with a range of more than 4 octaves (Eb2 to F6). Re-singing style ranges from opera to screams and grunts. She usually sings in English, in addition she has also sung songs in Dutch, German, Spanish, Finnish, Latin, Italian and Swedish.
Jansen was the singer of the Dutch metal band After Forever from 1997 to early 2009. From 1999 she studied at the Rockacademie in Tilburg with classmates Jacqueline Govaert and Danny Vera, where she graduated in 2003. In addition to her activities at After Forever, she gave singing lessons. She plays guitar, piano and flute. On May 5, 2010, she presented her new band ReVamp, which was disbanded in September 2016.
From 1 October 2012 Jansen replaced Anette Olzon as singer of Nightwish during the Imaginaerum World Tour. On October 9, 2013, it was announced that she would be the group's regular new front singer. In 2015, Nightwish released the album Endless Forms Most Beautiful with Jansen as lead singer. Nightwish's second studio album with Jansen as front singer, Human. :II: Nature., was released in April 2020.

in some way both of you were right. Although the band is from Finland, their 3rd female vocalist Floor Jansen (say: yahn-sen) is Dutch, so from the Netherlands.
About the show itself, this concert was at Wacken Open Air festival in Germany in front of 82k+ crowd.

Hello, wellcome to the world of Nightwish. So nice you've found this band. Every NW song is different with different kind of themes, having a story behind. Sometimes the lyrics have a deeper meaning and will open up listening to a couple of times. That's what makes these songs great, they are not - once listen and forget -songs. The band is from Finland, the lead singer Floor Jansen is from the Netherlands and is the third singer who started only 10 months before this concert. There is a sixth band member, Troy Donockley a multi instrumentalist from England who not featured in this song. There are 14 songs plus an instrumental at this concert and all are perfect.

About metal, there are many metal sub genre and it are very different, from fun and playful to very heavy and dark. from slow to fast and so on. And vocally there are many many different singing stile and mixing different metal styles, experimenting, contrasting, mixing with classical, folk music and so on. I personally really like metal and archaic folk music mix, Also i like vocal contrast when using nice clean vocals and growling

Floor Jansen the vocalist is Dutch. The rest of the band is from Finland. This is the magic and grandeur of symphonic metal from Nightwish and Floor Jansen, the Dutch Valkyrie Queen of metal. I loved the huge smile that started to grow on your wife face shortly after the song began, It kept getting bigger and bigger starting at the operatic section and build to the final chorus'.
I heard you mention Poland? Nightwish is performing in Gliwice Poland, Leipzig Germany & Prague CZ in December 2022. Berlin in November.
