When we cook a lot of bacon for church meals, we just lay it on cooking sheets and cook it in the oven. 8lb in one go. Then drain all the grease in a pot. If it's a single layer, about 20-25min. Of course, we are cooking in a double sided large restaurant style gas oven/stove top. We put the bacon right onto the pans
You can adjust the temp of Saute in the Instant Pot just keep pushing the Saute button and watch the light move from Less - Normal - More. This works for most of the buttons - I forget which ones it doesn't work on. Thx for doing this and sharing. 👍👍👍👍👍
@@AnimalBasedInYourFace For Saute it changes the temp a noticable amount but don't know much about the others. I don't use most of them very much. I'm more of a Manual/Pressure button person.
Best way I've found for stuck on bacon is the dog. Drain all the grease and let it cool and sit on the floor. All the hard work will be done 👍😊
Tip for the moving liner in instant pot: use extra large binder clip to inner liner to frame . Stops it from moving around to scrape sides.
10:28 Okay, cool! Finally, you figured out that covering that Instapot with the lid is better. 😆
Thanks so much for sharing this, I really appreciate and needed the information.
Use a binder clip (large) to keep the insert from spinning. Clip it on the edge and it will stay in place.
Howdy, I have the same pot, purchased a glass lid for $8 AMAZON couple years ago helps greatly. also we cut into 3 pieces & always lay in cold pot then turn on it renders No need to add oil. Also there are 2 heat settings in Saute mode. Just about 35min 2lbs bacon chips. Noticed we never have a cooked on mess like that. hope this helps. thank you for channel 😊
I also like the fact if we have guest coming over we can put it out side to cook and not overwhelm our guest with bacon 😃
I did this method as well... it did take longer. Next time I'll add the bacon grease prior - thanks
I find that if I coat the whole bottom of the Instapot with bacon grease (much more than a tablespoon), I have way better results this way. Also, I twist each piece before adding to the pot and I can get the whole package in a single later.
I keep my extra bacon grease in old spaghetti sauce jars. I clean the jars and run them through the dishwasher, making sure the lids don't have an onion or pepper smell. Sometimes I use salsa jars but it takes a while for the lids to lose their smell of salsa, so I let them air out without putting them on the jar. I then put the strained hot hot bacon grease into them and put on the lid and it seals when cooled and keeps it good for a long time. I then trade a jar of bacon grease for eggs with my son.
I've seen people add water to the pan in order to speed up evenly heating the bacon. Let the water cook off and same crispy bacon, only a much faster process.
Yes we are making that video this weekend. We tested that process and it actually makes the texture of the bacon crispy but more tender if that makes sense.
Yum. 😊😊😊
appreciate this process and think I may try it with my Instant Pot. I had plastic containers like the ones you showed in the video, but there are reasonable glass containers with better lids you might consider. My plastic containers always held odors, even after the dishwasher and now use them for car parts... hehe
These do not hold odors. We have other videos of cooking bacon on the stove top in its own grease too. It’s our favorite way. Thank you for watching!
Hi Will 👋🏼 I also do not like plastic containers. They keep odors. 😝 I have glass containers with snap on lids that also have that rubber seal.
Stop fighting it, just get a Castiron skillet, Castiron Dutchoven .
Get a lid too and its very easy to clean.
I will try the instapot too.
Thanks for your video's ,

We actually have been looking for a deeper cast iron pot and the deepest we can find is 7 inches. The reason we want it deep is to help with the splattering of the grease all over the stove. Ha ha! We aren’t fighting anything we’re trying different methods. Thank you for watching!
@AnimalBasedInYourFace Sorry, I guess I came across kinds Snarky. That wasn't my intent. Yes, finding different methods are a must. But... I just wanted to share the secret, and it is easy to clean up too.
Thanks for your time and dedication to make good content.

When you take your cooked bacon out of the fridge, do you, at times, just eat it that way as a snack and is it still crunchy like a chip?
I always liked Ken Berry on the old TV shows like Mayberry R.F.D., but I never knew he was known for bacon as well.
🤣 Different Ken Berry. Doctor Ken Berry is a family physician that is trying to change the world thru a proper human diet. He is an author and CZcams influencer. Look him up, it’s good stuff.
@@AnimalBasedInYourFace I'll take your word for it. I'm not into Internet "influencers". For all we know, the other Ken Berry was good at bacon, too.
once you have enough oil, why don't you put the lid on and cook it with pressure?
A binder clip will hold the inside pot in place. Just clip it on.
🥓 🍳 Just subscribed! As a meat eater who loves BACON, thx for the tips + instant pot portability! I've never tried this cooking method. Healthy option to tall Teflon pot. 35 mins isn't bad for no splatter, smell and bacon grease for cooking 👍
Just cook it on the back porch and no smelling up the house. ❤️
I really don't understand these "instapot recipes" where step 1 is always: "Where going to do it exactly like the stove top method".
To me, it's a stovetop recipe done in an instapot.
What about using dutch ovens (cast iron with ceramic interior - ) how would that be? I am shopping in particular for a deep pot especially to cook among other things-BACON! Dr. Berry’s method is brilliant, although I have not tried it yet.
Cover the pot
You can actually adjust the mode on saute by pressing the + or - buttons..
As you said everyone should watch devil we know. it is about DuPont and how the nonstick pans affect us
We have been lied to so much it is astounding. Just look up how the food pyramid was made and all the companies that bought their place and serving per day on the thing! Unreal. It isn’t about health for you, but making a profit for them. Sad really.
I let my wife take care of the pan, she hasn't complained yet. Lol. Thanks for the video! I have an Insta Pot but never use it, it doesn't seem to cook the way I was expecting it to.
How do you warm it up when you want to eat it after it's been refrigerated ?
Take what your not eating right away out sooner (less done) store that in airtight container. Either air-fry for a minute on 350 or put in skillet with lid for 2-3 minutes. When it’s hot it’s ready and it will crisp up as it cools slightly.
Will your nija lid fit at all, a lid would certainly cut down your time, and I usually use tongs to grab and flip stuff to avoid the spinning pot!!!
You could use the instant pot lid or one of the ninja lids I’m sure would fit 👍🏻 Great idea!
1:53 You don't cut your bacon the way Dr. Berry does? 😮 I cut mine and I love it!
This was our first video of doing it Dr Berrys way. I did it in different sizes.

InstaNT pot. The n and t are not silent
You are correct but us southern folk have our own language 🤣 I have some cajun friends you would really like to hear talk! 😂😂
Myth busting here: the burnt on stuff can be easily removed with a deglazing technique: while the pot is still hot, pour in water and keep the flame on. Start scraping and the stuff comes off. Teflon is only bad for you if you allow it to get too hot. It's not meant for high heat cooking. But don't take my word; just research these for yourselves.
We actually tried the deglazing method last night. It worked pretty good, but it did not get everything off so we had to end up using the baking soda and vinegar. Thank you for watching and commenting!
@@AnimalBasedInYourFace You're welcome! I guess my stainless steel is different because mine come out spotless. I may have left off some details, too! For example, I then use a Brillo type pad on the remaining bits. Thank you for trying my suggestion! ❤
That's my method. But I use Bar Keepers Friend to clean off anything that doesn't come right off with the sponge.
Save some money. Just sprinkle bacon soda in the pan and use a little water on the sponge. Works just like barkeepers friend for pennies cost.
@@AnimalBasedInYourFace Funny that you said bacon soda instead of baking soda. LOL
Blt’s yum
Why wouldn't you want your house to smell like bacon?
😂 Well if you got guest coming over you don’t or they will want to eat your bacon 😂
Haven't seen you stir it.
You don't cover it?
You can and it will cook faster and have a more chewy but tender texture.
Why did you need bacon grease? Doesn't the bacon make it's own grease?
Yes, the bacon makes its own grease but every time we use stainless steel it sticks really bad on the bottom of the pot. We tried putting extra grease in first to keep it from sticking. It didn’t stick very bad, but the pot still had to be cleaned because the bottom was completely burnt on, that’s just the way stainless steel is.
Just curious as to why you need to yell in your video. 😆
4 or 5 guys are cooking it in a pot, what happen if you fry it in oil dap in flour ? Don’t that make the most crisp bacon, I know baking it work but used a lot of gas.
I use the original Ken Berry method, using the non-stick pot and a lid. It works awesome! And no mess either! Thank you, Animal-Based in Your Face!
We also love the original Kenberry method. That’s how we learned about it. I know nonstick is not the best option for health reasons, but it is the best and easiest way to fry bacon in a pot in its own grease.
@AnimalBasedInYourFace -- And the most amazing thing is that it doesn't even spatter when you take the lid off the pot to stir the bacon around. It's almost MAGICAL! lol And clean up is so incredibly easy. I'm serious, this is like the coolest kitchen hack I've learned in a decade! Thank you so much! 😃
@KeithOutWest we totally agree! 😁 Thank you for watching and commenting.
I cook my bacon in the ninja foodie on the suspended grate. All of the grease drains off to the bottom of the pot and I only have to clean it out about once a month. It takes 15 minutes and there is absolutely no cleanup. you can cook it just as crispy as you like. No mess.
