  • Our review of the Lippert Flow-Max RV water pump. This is a VERY quiet water pump. We tested it outdoors and it only increase the ambient db level by 8db...yes only 8db. Very well made pump. Recommend for anyone looking to replace an old or broken RV water pump.

    The reason they did not install a fuse is because the fuse should be installed at the power source so that it can protect the wiring to the pump. If the fuse is on the pump it only protects the pump. The wiring can still short out and never lose power.

    Wonder if this pump is a direct replacement for our current Shurflo pump?

    • @tannerjim
      @tannerjim  Před 6 lety +2

      Yes..it will fit exactly where your current Shurflo is located. You shouldn't have to purchase anything other than the pump itself, as all the stuff you need (filter, threaded connector) come in the box....at least they did with the one I got from the link I called in in the description.

    Why would you ever buy a pump with a 5 min. duty cycle motor?

    • @tannerjim
      @tannerjim  Před rokem

      First, I don't think that was anywhere on my documents so I was not aware of that. Second, I can tell you we used it for ~10 mins straight while my wife would shower, so it might just be the mfg putting a really really really safe number on their specs. BTW...I don't see that 5 min run time listed on LCI site. We sold that RV so I can't go out and look to see if that is printed on the pump and there is no way I can remember 5 years ago. 😄

    They're not talking about teflon tape on the barbs. They're talking about teflon tape on the threads where it screws into the pump. You need hose clamps to attach flexible hose to hose barbs.

    • @tannerjim
      @tannerjim  Před 6 lety +1

      Yes, Lippert specifically writes in the install guide to not put tefton over the barbs. I am not talking about the threaded part.

    • @tannerjim

      I wish I knew. Easy today to have many vendors buy same products and rebrand them.
