There are no infrastructures, no electricity and they can’t even tap into into the fisheries resources provided by the Atlantic coast. Instead, foreign trawlers are hoovering up our fish while our locals are using wooden canoes along shore lines for small fishing. Recently we were treated to the journey of a Dutch rider “Itchy Boots” who exposed the decay in West Africa infrastructure. Just imagine if there is just one railway line running from Niger, through Nigeria and down to Senegal cutting across all of west Africa state; just imagine if we have such infrastructure!! Automatically the entire region will be transformed, our neighbours will become our major trade partner, our foreign reserve will become indigenous backed by our commodities, our production will be focus on what we actually need/consume and not what is needed oversea, our foreign policy will be geared towards enhancing & protect this relationship and not how to attract foreign aid and ultimately we will become a major player in world affair.
If we able to connect with the horn of Africa and bring stability to countries like Sudan, Somalia and Eritrea, if we are able to control our coastline along the. Entire stretch, that will be game over.
