Wonderful this works... I used it to clean the damaged outer coating of my rayban glass... and it did wonders in five mins...of course the glass is no more polarised, but is still better than what it was looking with blisters all around....

It’s not the polarization filter you’re removing, it’s the anti scratch coating that peels off.

I’m not an expert but based on experience, I think this stuff is marketing strategy. I have a couple of Oakley’s in my collection but peeling of lenses only happens to the one’s with a replaceable lenses. Like for example it happens to my Oakley Half Jacket, Oakley Scalpel and Oakley Frogskins. But it never happens to my Oakley Zero and Oakley Half X. My Zero, Scalpel, Frogskins and Half X been with me for 12 years now and my Half Jacket been with me for 18 years now. I don’t mind replacing the lenses as long as the frames stay solid as a rock!!!

I have a pair of radar paths purchased in 2007 black irridium & blue irridium lenses, no probs whatsoever.
Also in 2010 i purchased a pair of split jacket 'infinite heros' violet irridium, a pair of M2 jade irridium, and 2 yrs ago a pair of Jupiter squared black irridium polarized.
ALL of them are in pristine condition, no problems whatsoever (apart from the swapping out of ear socks on my Radars)
ALL of them are cleaned after EVERY time i wear them with a drop of dish washing liquid on each lens, gently rubbed with the pad of my thumb, then rinsed in cold water & then i lay them on a kitchen towel to drip dry (streaks are removed when its time to wear them with the microfibre bag).
Imo, all those fancy cleaners/spray coatings are the problem. That and obviously misuse (eg sweating whilst wearing them & not bothering to clean them the same day of use).

Michael Noeth Hi Michael, if the tape can’t successfully remove it I can’t think of any other solution. Maybe try a packing tape. I think it is more sticky but just be very careful not to leave the sticky solution into the lens. If that happens just use baby oil in a cotton and gently remove it and then wash the lens with dishwashing liquid and water. Let us know what happens after yeah.

Imo, all those fancy cleaners/coatings are the problem. That and obviously misuse (eg sweating whilst wearing them & not bothering to clean them the same day of use.

@@Kkorkykatt I couldn't agree more. I wash my eyeglasses, and sunglasses after work or going out since I use sunblock being that both sweat and sunblock eat away the plastic components. Especially, acetate. How I hate acetate. Of course the cleaning liquid, and the "cleaning cloth" ruin the lenses. I see it as as "cleaning" a pane of glass covered in sand, and and dirt with sprayed water while rubbing it clean with a rag. The only thing that will happen over time are scratches.
