  • Finally had to do it. 6" Open Cell Spray Foam Insulation added to the shop. Will for sure help out with sound, and air conditioning. Ended up waiting a year or so to make sure everything was in its place and now I can get to finishing it.
    Thank you guys for the support and watching!

    Actually those roll up doors are made in uninsulated & insulated models ....You can up-grade at construction time & anytime after construction . Also, they make inexpensive automatics door openers for them too that are user /owner install friendly ...👍

    I would paint the foam walls to try and stop moisture from reaching the metal. Disregard if you are in a climate that doesn’t freeze.

    Wish we could build buildings like that one on the coast. That would blow away in my area.

    Everyone in the comment section.. question.. why do you think people have such a hard time, or reluctant to share their cost?

    • @Solitude313
      @Solitude313  Před 3 lety

      I've mentioned it in the comments. Prices vary so much on location, company, and time that it's kind of irrelevant. Some say I wouldn't do it for less that 5k, while others brothers cousins great grandpa would do it for $750. Just leads to unnecessary comments.. it was $3,200 for Foam and Ceiling Paint.

    There’s an easy way to insulate those doors. At my work there’s just some reflective insulation and the door still rolls up fine

    You should be weary of using open cell foam on metal substrates

    • @glenwoolsey4698
      @glenwoolsey4698 Před 3 lety

      Why is that, I haveing a metal building built now and thinking on spay foam in the next 3/ or 4 months after I do my wiring.

    • @zyarbrough900
      @zyarbrough900 Před 3 lety +4

      @@glenwoolsey4698 depending on climate zone it can cause issues. Open cell allows vapor to pass through it whereas closed cell foam is a vapor barrier at a depth of around 1-2" depending on mfg. I only spray closed cell to metal because of the risk of water vapor passing through open cell and condensing against metal. And when you have water, metal, and oxygen bad things can happen.
