Awesome video! Isn't there some sort of "clipper" available to trim the end of the collar, rather than using a punch?

I'm looking for a punch for heavy duty, but cloth/webbing, hunting leads and collars. Could this work on those, even though they do not have bio thane coating? The leather punches I have do make the messy holes in them, just like in bio thane. A very helpful video regardless, but I think your trying to say your punch has a bevel, just a different one compared to the leather punches.

We believe you would have more success using these punches over standard leather punches even on an uncoated product, but we have not used these on an uncoated product. The bevel creates less pulling of the fiber and more cutting when pushed through the material.

If I want to start making half inch beta biothane multi function leashes and cat and dog collars, what tools do I need to get started? For now, I want to do it for my own dog and cat, but if I'm able to get good enough at it, then I may do it on a small scale for others, as well. ....I am limited on funds, so I am curious what is the best most cost effective option available, right now.

The hole punches in this video are an economical way to get started. Contact Marlin at the strapwarehouse.com.

Do any of the punches fit a traditional hand press?

      Great question...
They all fit the Handyman Press but may NOT fit other presses. However, you could probably have a special jig fitting made to accommodate your press. Hope this helps.

Hi Nessa, the BIO punch we used was 4.5 MM. Thanks for asking!

Also, the hole size depends on the buckle tongue you are using (you want the hole to be slightly larger than the thickness of the tongue), or the rivet diameter if you are punching holes for rivets.. We recommend getting at least 3 or 4 sizes to have on hand. I hope this helps some!
