Downloading these, had some on my mp3 player and realised you did 20 miles one day. Took me fair while to do 400 miles. Stopped few places for good stretches.
Awesome hike would love to do this I met a guy earlier this year at lands end who was doing the swcp said the first week was grueling look forward to watching the series already watched part 1 👍 atb daz
Old videos I know, but just discovered the series and I’m going to watch the whole thing. Consider me a new subscriber! Is there a specific guidebook you would recommend?
Old videos I know but just found your channel, love day one so going to binge watch the lot 😂 in the name of research- I want to do the swcp next year - what date/month did u start off?
No I didn't actually wild camp. I was prepared to if needed. There were only a couple of places when following the cicerone guide book that didn't have campsites. 2 of them had hostels which I used and once I just did a longer day to push on to a site.
When I did the coast to coast i didn't book either. I don't like being forced to stick to a schedule. Most sites make exceptions for Walker's even when technically full in my experience.
Didn't know that you had ticks "across the pond"--Learning something new every day.
Yeah, unfortunately we have them. Generally not too much of a problem usually.

Thanks for commenting. I am still doing it in 2 week chunks. I started September. Usually do September and May.
Love the vid thanks - how far was day two walk please ?
12 miles. I usually put the mileage and Elevation gain at the end of each vid 👍
@@gonehiking9297 Thank you - Just watching you on the JMT - brilliant thank you for the vids
Fabulous stuff! Is £5 a night typical for campsites? Did you wild camp at all?
Usually between £5-10. Most sites offered a cheaper 'hiker rate' so be sure to casually mention your doing the SWCP!

We plan to hike Lynmouth to Ilfracombe in a day this summer... is 18 miles on that terrain achievable? Comfortable, fit walkers
It's a tough day but if you have day bags, and start early you should be ok.
@@gonehiking9297 Many thanks, thanks for the inspo
Did you need to pre-book the campsites?
Hi, no I didn't book any sites and was fine except 1 site (see day 4). But also I was out of school holiday season.
@@gonehiking9297Thank you , thats useful to know as want to be flexible as possible when I do the walk

@@gonehiking9297 Might be an issue now with the 'muh social distancing' laws tho.
