Say, one of my operators failed to receive a radio, the officer called me: "Paramonov, last night YOU didn't get a radio." - "Sorry, comrade major, my failure, next time I'll try better." This movie is great. I have seen it at least a dozen times. I was stationed in Mississippi when I was in the navy and its so damn hot and humid my uniform was sweaty all the time just like they show here.

I forgot how funny this movie was. M.B. reminds me (old chick here) of a young Jerry Lewis.

One of the best scenes in a movie where every scene was one of the best scenes. They just don't make movies this good anymore.

Ft Jackson SC 1980, on the black drill pad , August, effing hot as hell, if you dropped your weapon, you did the leaning rest and laid the weapon across your hands and knocked out 30 , recovered and continued on. We would drill , drink from the green canteens, go piss and drill some more , it made us a platoon, we pulled together and everyone graduated . RIP MSG Chambers and SFC Wade,
