Vinnie is a high school buddy of mine. Just saw him at a funeral a few weeks ago at the untimely passing of a mutual friend. When I tell you Vinnie is probably one of the humblest nicest coolest cats ever that would be no exaggeration!!
ONE OF THE BEST GUITAR PLAYERS IN THE WORLD
I got to meet him at a clinic in Roselle IL when I was only a couple years in on the guitar. His was phenomenal live, but I wish I would have had something like this video when I was starting out. It was so much easier to learn than I figured (at a considerably slower speed).

I fell down into an elevator shaft in 88 just in the middle of the new release of his. I was in hospital not healing and I asked a candy striper if she would go get me Vinnies album. I gave her the money and she came back with the rest of my life. I was not healing until I started being spiritually lifted by Vinnies new album. Some of the music I only heard in my mind but here was Vinnie putting into music my very inside sound. Oddysee was not like Minds eye but better and more expanding dimensional and awareness were at it's pinnacle listening to his soaring lines of intellect..... I started to heal ..... all of a sudden. Doctors listened to my experience and are now using music to spark enthusiastic healing in people inclined in music
Morningstar is probably the song that best captures the essence of old school Vinnie Moore. Inspiration to guitarists of the late 80s and early 90s.

THose years of shredding greatness may be gone...but the memories will always remain and cherished...I'm glad I was there to witness it all. Music the last 25 years has been utter POS and void of any talent!
Watching Vinnie from such a small distance and seeing him flawlessly execute all these techniques is a major treat for any guitarist. Vinnie still kicks ass big time. Compliments to whoever filmed and uploaded this!

Saw Vinnie open for Ritchie Kotzen last year in Sacramento ( which was before or after this show, I think-can't remember ). Great performer, his band was totally awesome and I even got to hang with Vinnie during a break from Ritchie's show. Great guy and an incredible musician!

I love that when I finally got good enough to learn Daydream I liked the higher part. Now I can play harmony with Vinnie any time I want. 🤣
That's a really good angle on In Control as well. He does several things different than any of the transcriptions or guys who put up covers on CZcams. I always figured he probably did it in a way that made more sense.....Thanks!

Daydream clearly wasn't a good idea to start the show with. He should of kept it for later when he's well ready for it. it's a rough one to go out the gate with it. He struggled a bit but this guy not being known more than he is is CRIMINAL he's one of the best ever!

Lo vedo affaticato e meno preciso del solito, sembra quasi che stenti ad eseguire alcuni passaggi, insomma non e' il Vinnie Moore che ho visto dal vivo con gli U.F.O
Ma perchè tutti i virtuosi della chitarra, col passare degli anni, non sanno suonare i loro stessi vecchi brani? La vecchiaia o l'adagiarsi sugli allori del loro successo? Oppure il non dover più dimostrare nulla? Che peccato...sembrano pugili che hanno perduto "gli occhi della tigre"
You can't play Daydream without the keys it's like removing the intro to JUMP. You can do it but it's not the same. You need two equally matched guitarists to play Vinnie's music. Yah I'm aware it's his. If I saw this I'd feel ripped off. Only Joe gives you a quality show. Yngwie'a a gear salesman, Steve is off with his metal/jazz improv shtick, Ed's gone RIP.
Vinnie, you need to go back to Ibanez...your sound was way better. 🙂
Not about the guitar, IMHO. He seems to like that dry and raw sound better since 15+ years or so. Unfortunately, not to my taste so much either and not too well suited for his older (and faster) stuff. But, a man has his right to choose his own tone... I just enjoy the great songs!

I gave it a chance listened to it I think it sucks sorry this is may be fast playing but it just sounds terrible most of it

Its a live performance in a small club recorded by a fan. The quality is something you have no control over. Its never going to be as good as the album.
