So Jami, you *know* I’m not a fan of “too much” chippy. But I adore this piece. I think adding the last wash AND the waxes were exactly what this piece needed.
And the color should be named Almost Turquoise!!
You have single-handedly gotten me to fall in love with SPMP!
Leslie .... first , hope you're feeling better ... and , yes love this piece !
I really appreciate this video. I tend to “freak out” a bit when I feel like I’ve “messed up” a project. This was a wonderful video to remind myself to give grace and go with the flow and as you say, trust the process. Thank you for this! 🙏🏼
Magnificent! This could not look more authentic. Incredible texture and great colour. Masterclass Jami!
This is EXACTLY the video tutorial I was wishing and hoping you guys would share... Absolutely beautiful! Thank you SO much!!!
This video is awesome.....it is reality. Chippy paint looks amazing. As Jami says in the video, she trusted the process. If you are a perfectionist painter like me, I know it is really difficult to shift your mind set. Trusting the process is the key, schlapping the paint on is also key and different coloured paint layers. I so have a lot to learn with using the milk paint....I think I would freak out after the first coat, but I would force myself to trust the process because when you see the final product it looks amazing. It is really hysterical that I am a perfectionist painter and I have to Un-Learn this....but I love the chippy paint it looks so aged and the patina looks authentic.
Absolutely gorgeous!!!! 💙💙💙💙💙💙💙💙
Hellooo Jami & Zeb. I am in LOVE with this piece!!!!!! It was a fantastic video showing us all the hiccups along the way!! Thank you for inspiring us to finish projects that seem scary!!! I LOVE chippy paint and can't wait to get my hands on this color and someday a buffet as gorgeous as this with those beautiful legs!!!! Please keep doing videos like this and I can't wait for the next adventure with you!!!!!
Can’t wait to see your chippy projects!
Outstanding! I adore the finish! I purchased some more milk paint from y'all during the sale and can't wait to see the color Birdie! It's right up my alley...I love greens, blues, green-blue and blue-green colors. Thanks for sharing this video! Milk paint is so much fun! 🫶🏻
I adore this! Not too chippy at all❤️❤️❤️
I absolutely love all that chippy goodness ❤ This buffet looks amazing! Great video 👍Just beautiful!
Patina perfection.💕
Ahhh this chippy look is EVERYTHING ❤ looks amazing guys
Thanks!
I LOVE this new color & I LOVE this technique is amazing!! Thank You for being so real & so stinkin creative!!!
Wow..from "just burn it!" to you nailed it!!! Looks so much like the finish from Europe!! Great job you guys. I'm too much of a control freak to try that😂
I love your furniture painting videos!! So much chippy goodness! 🤩💜
I love this new color! I’m so glad Zeb did the Bondo repair and got the top nice and smooth. I’m really glad that you wiped off most of the dark wax and ended with white wax. The dark almost ruined the gorgeous color. Sometimes you go darker than I care for. This turned out great.
Great lesson on how oil can throw you a curve and how to save a project.
I love this. I just got my order of milk paint in. Can't wait to get chippy with it.
The buffet is beautifully aged. I love the color. And the dark wax really looks great. Thanks Jami and Zeb 🎄
I have GOT to stop holding my breath when you have projects that give you a run for your money. I often think that I can't imagine how this is going to turn out, and then... BOOM, there it is! I know ultra-chippy isn't everyone's cuppa tea, but I happen to love it and this piece is fab. Nice one.
Thanks! ❤️❤️
I’m in love with this piece💕💕💕💕💕
I love the result. Very nice and you guys gave it another life!!
This turned out GORGEOUS!!! I'm in LOVE!!!
I love the chip look ❤ and that piece looks beautiful 👍😁
I love how it came out ,it looks awesome! ❤❤❤
I love the color of milk paint . You have told us ways to have less large chips. With the extra bond.
This is what happens when you trust your judgement, products, and the process!👍
I’M LOVING THIS COLOR!!!
Makes me want to milk paint something! It is perfectly imperfect
ROTF. 'OH MY GOSH it's so chippy, what am I gonna do'?
I got real laughed out loud. For a long time! Crackin' me up!
Love it!
That is the perfect chippy 🧡🧡🧡 wish it was predictable to turn out like that every time
LOVE IT!!! Beautiful job!
I love the chippy look! You guys always do amazing work! ❤️
This is so beautiful, it looks well loved already
Love the look! I just bought some of your milk paint can't wait to play with it.
So cute! Love this new color. Great chippy old look. Love how you layered the paint washes, great tip I hope to use soon. Another look I would like with this color is a less chippy on the body and a darker top, like a brownish-black. So many options! Love love love! 💖
You guys are so brave! I thought it was way too chippy and would have been dismayed if I had been painting it, but it turned out awesome! You really know your stuff!
Yes ,they do !
Yes just look beautiful!
It turned out great! You scared me through the process of layers!
Wow! Looks so nice.
WOW… she turned out pretty ! I would have hyperventilated with the first chippy look…total panic for sure !!! LOL The difference between someone who is not scared of milk paint verses someone who is scared to death of it…me! Sure do love the look, but I don’t trust me! Definitely a job well done you two !
🌲🌲❤️❤️🌲🌲
Turned out beautiful and just happens to be my favorite color ☺️💕
Amazing finish !
Furniture in stores is expensive .. even part wood pieces .. and you wait forever to receive it . Then there's the thrift pieces -- just out there and waiting to be found . If you're lucky enough to find one ... your imagination can begin ! Use the blending , tuck another color in a corner , smudge & blend , a little dark or light .... The wax will give it a hard smooth durable finish & you've got a bespoke piece & you're an artist !
(...and Jami & Zeb will be giving you a high five & a welcome !)
Thanks guys. Inspired to get chipping! X
Nice chippy wonderfullness!
I'm trying to find a antique buffett this summer and making it my main barhroon vanity I cannot wait ..
Chippy goodness!!
Looks amazing.
Love this so much! Thank you!!😊
Gorgeous

Thank you Lisa!
Love love love! 🥰❤️
LOVE it! ❤
Love it!
Love the color. Love the process. Just too chippy for my taste. But love the paint color and texture.
I love it!!!
love it !!!
Your the best keep up the great work
Perfection.
Love it
SMH (in a good way) AMAZING 😍🙌🥳
no shade here:) the only thing I would add is a fairy dusting of gold on the knobs to match the faded chippy grandeur of the piece, to show that she was once the belle of the ball 100 years ago and that it aged gracefully..
YES!!!
I think it looked great the way it was all vintage I would have made the top brown to match the brown showing on front
❤️❤️❤️
What my mother said when things didn't exactly become her vision- " that's the way daddy likes it...
What I say when it doesn't become my vision - " we like the organic look".
Had to tell you I love your sweater where did you get it.
😍
Couples that Paint Together Stay Together!!! Looks Great ❤ Would sanding the piece have helped in the beginning? Thanks 😄
Maybe. But not unless we stripped it. And then we would have missed the ending ❤️
@@JamiRayVintage - True I’m still learning. It came out great 👍🏻
I have a buffet in out little barn that was free, and I should have passed it by! But I thought I could give it new life. My only problem well, one of my problems is the top veneer is completely stripped. Would you Bondo the complete top or would just you out a new layer of veneer or wood on the top?
Just wondering, did you scrub this piece down first with a solvent type cleaner? That may have helped so it didn't chip so much. Having said that, it's beautiful!
If you had cleaned the piece with some Krud Kutter or some type of degreaser, would it have chipped like it did?
Maybe less. Just depends. Sometimes there is just a lot of oil on pieces. Priming it with salvation Solution in clear would have worked.
I like the amount of chippy on the top, but the doors are too distressed for me. Is it always a gamble with milk paint?
It’s less of a gamble if you use a degreaser. But we didn’t.
I was wondering when you were going to work on this piece.
If it’s oily-wouldn’t a degreaser or denatured alcohol help rather than priming? I’m wondering I would want the wood to come through the chipping.
You could go that route for sure. We prefer to use a clear primer.
I like a bit of chippy but not this much. I always clean my piece with a quality degreaser before using any paint. I always used Miss Mustard Seed paint but I don't like their new formula. I will be trying this brand soon.
I'm on the fence.
#Replay 😊😊❤
FIRST!!!
tfs not my taste is about 2/3's too chippy for me. Do love the colors though.
This one is not for me but in the correct surroundings it would look lovely, I am not a lover of chippy
Love it!
I love it!
