i usually use half-normal, because i like to record the direct signal "dry" & then patch out to pedals/samplers, etc., which return on a separate mono/stereo channel. this way, i'll always have the original take (the dry signal) & if i don't like the "wet" recording, I simply run out of the interface through the pedals with different settings, etc.
lots of cables & diagrams, but worth it for immediate hands-on control of gear. much better than using a mouse & glancing at the DAW a million times.
Yep. I enjoy the analog realm much more. Not as convenient but, I don’t feel like I’m typing in an excel spreadsheet.
If there a re-amp box somewhere in line from your audio interface to your guitar amp? If not, wouldn't the impedance be wrong?...the audio interface would out putting a line level signal and the amp expects an instrument level signal?

Hi! Question: For the pedal chain logic: Audio interface input channels permitting, can you record a patched pedal chain (say a synth with 3 pedals), ALONG other instruments simultaneously (live jam)? Or becasue of patch routing it limits you to record a single track at a time? I see the video when you waterfall top to bottom across for the chain but cant blankly stare enough to the ceiling to imagine how other instruments might not get affected? Ive seen other patch videos and I guess I get confused about multitrack + dry + wet signal. Cheers!
