How many bishops agree with him? Nothing is right in the catholic world when you can count the number of catholic bishops who stand up for tradition in public on the fingers of one hand. I'm afraid there is little cause for cheering these days.

Reading these comments is truly pathetic. People are weeping tears of gratitude because they have seen a true catholic bishop as opposed to those who constitute their national bishops' conferences. There are a thousand Wuerls, Cupichs and McCarricks for every Schneider. That's the church in this era.

I know a number of extremely pious Russian Orthodox Christians from cities like Moscow and St Petersburg who complain? caution? that the the flourishing of the church in Russia that is apparent now is still extremely superficial because the communists did such an excellent job of extirpating the Christian spirit over several generations that it's a matter of building everything up from virtually nothing. Almost everybody is a convert or the child of a convert. I suppose it reflects the conditions of the early church but it is not exactly a normal situation. People are flocking to the church and doing their best but it will be decades before they can recapture the heroic depth of Russian spirituality and devotion that produced well over a million martyrs for Christ in the early twentieth century alone. We cannot be too optimistic that this process has already taken place. Of course what is going on is a vast improvement over state atheism. No one denies that, but a vast amount of work still needs to be done. The catholic parish in Moscow has a nicely situated, well-kept, spacious church and a growing Russian and international congregation where novus ordo is celebrated in several languages. I think there is almost no one in the entire country who is celebrating Extraordinary masses. Maybe no one. There are some American Catholic missionaries, including religious sisters, who are bringing needed help to Russian Catholics, but few Western Europeans have joined them as far as I know. Western Europeans need missionaries in their own countries. Better relations between Russia and America would help to improve this situation but the Democrats, inspired by their dark master, would rather slit their own throats than allow it.

Sissy Brooks "The Society of St. Pius X is an international priestly society of common life without vows, whose purpose is to train, support, and encourage holy priests so that they may effectively spread the Catholic faith throughout the world."
The Priestly Fraternity of Saint Pius X was founded in 1970 by His Grace, Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre in the diocese of Fribourg, Switzerland, according to the canonical norms. It was established by the blessing of Bishop Charrière, bishop of Lausanne, Geneva, and Fribourg. He founded the Society in response to the errors and heretical statements of the Second Ecumenical Council of the Vatican (Vatican II).
The spirit of the SSPX is essentially apostolic; it was designed by its founder to operate much like a missionary order, spreading the faith far and wide. This apostolate is today especially necessary considering the spread of atheism, agnosticism, and religious indifference. This is very fitting to the Society, as Monsignor Lefebvre was an Apostolic missionary in Africa during a large part of his life. (to read more on this mossionary spirit of the Archbishop and how close this was to his heart, I recommend reading "I Accuse the Council!".)
The SSPX, to this end, seeks to draw souls closer to Christ primarily through the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, as well as through its preaching, its schools, its seminaries, and its other houses of religious formation.
All this can be summed up in our founder’s motto: “We have believed in charity,” that is, in the love of Christ.

Amazing that not once did i hear this Bishop quote scripture from the bible to back up any claims to his answers. I guess Catholics / roman Catholics just follow like sheep and do not question anything . Just what do you base your salvation on? Just what do you base your beliefs on? If you go outside of the Bible you can believe anything the church says but if you base your beliefs on what the bible says , you need to question your present beliefs.

    • @thomasmcewen5493

Bruce W McLaughlin Scripture? The protestants quoted Romans 13 to the leaders of communism as they kneeled when in the StB basement the Catholic religious sisters was gang raped by the Secret police, to reject Christ not scripture. The Apostolic Coptics on the beach in Libya was not quoting scripture as their thoats was cut, they were witnessing their faith in Christ as they have done since St Mark Bishop of Alexandria Founder of the Coptic church in 54AD. Quoting scripture from English when the bible is in Koine Greek. you never quote Acts 9 31 "ekkesia Kath olos.." John 3 16 is not Whomsoever believeth in him shall have eternal life. But that is that in Koine Greek of the first century is Whomsoever Obeys (continuous obedience) him may have eternal life. One is quoting a verse to a hungry man another is feeding a hungry man. 15,000 medical clinics, 16,000 homes for those too ill or elderly to labour, 5,500 hospitals, 1/5 of the world's medical care, 4.4 billion every year through Caritas to help people, 43,000 secondary Schools, 73,000 primary schools and the largest and oldest 1088AD university system in the world. Want to quote some scripture that founded the university system. It is not the English language Bible of 1611AD, John 1:1 In the beginning was the word, what does that mean? In Greek it means the Divine reason and creative order on the creation of the universe or Logos. Quote some scripture, 96% of the religious prisoners in Dachau was Catholics, not Protestants quoting self serving scripture of get out of jail, truely they the protestants were quoting scripture under the bed.

Why would anyone serving the papacy claim that maybe we need heretical popes? That sounds absurd to me. Isn't it true instead that heresies are only imaginings or musings spoken aloud about mysteries that one or more people can distort and then because of the darkness in their own hearts it gets spread around as lies that deceive people? I thought the papacy in following the example of Saint Peter can never be heretical in itself. I thought that during the second coming of Jesus Christ described in the book of Revelation in the bible when both followers of Jesus who do their very best while admitting they are sinners in need salvation and the innocent souls who have not had the gospel offered to them before will get their eternal reward thanks to our Lord Jesus Christ. That includes people who become popes.
