Chris Berman did highlights from two games at once because the Packers (7-8) and Panthers (7-8) were trying to win their point differential over the other team in order to get the last NFC playoff spot.
The Cowboys (7-8) had to lose in the late game but both teams knew exactly how the other team was doing and both teams never stopped trying to score even though both games were decided well before the end of the game.
The Cowboys would win their late game which made all of this unnecessary but entertaining.

The Giants were also in play for this tiebreaker, but their net point total was way behind, they would've had to win by 81 points.
